I have always stated that I have had no problems with the car on rear, and I don't know if the results would have been any different with a motorcycle tire. Today on the way to work on the interstate 75, I was running around the 80 mph mark, there was line of cars in the left hand lane and trucks to my right, one of the trucks up frount either through a cap or ran over one and through into the middle lane in frount of me. My only choice was to run over it, a full cap turned up on its side. Man what ride, the bike jumped over the cap, I know both tires cleared the ground, it landed straight but then had few seconds of a major wobble. I got it back under control but it about made me mess up my pants. Gregg

They use to run car tires on both ends many years ago, 1930's, but I don't know about now. Gregg

No I am not happy. I want a refund, shoot the clerk, give a life time supply and pay me to use it. Then maybe there will be a small chance I might be happy, if someone comes and polishes my Venture every week. gregg PS what were we talking about anyway.

But I can tell you what we have done, My wife has ridden with me when we were dating and first married, she had a GT 380 suzuki, but did not ride on long distance rides she rode with me, then 7 years into marriage we had our first daughter followed 6 years later by another. My wife didn't ride for a few years, and then I bought her another bike 83 virago. Then John and Diane got killed riding together on one bike and their children were left with no parents. Karren and I decided we would not get on the same bike together, nor did we ride close to each other in a pack. Our girls were young and we did not want to risk them losing us both, and it has been that way for years. The are 23 and 17 now so she rides with me some now and we will ride close to each other when ridding in group once again. It comes down to a personel choice, you have to look at your situation, concider the risks and make a rational decision, but also can't let fear run your life. We made what we thought to be the best choice for us and our family without giving up riding. Good Luck Gregg

I don't know about all, but the book with MY Valkyrie had in big red letters to never put a bias ply tire on a Valkyrie, that it would cause instability. The Valkyrie's were specifically designed for radials only. Gregg

Well some says If you don't want your daughter on the back of her boyfriends bike, So last week I picked up a 2004 650 V-Star ($2200) for my 16 year old, and she is begining to learn to ride, scheduled to take the rider safety course in May. She has already rode it around the block, its 8 miles around the block we live and is doing good, about 45 mph is her max speed so far, I have told to no more than she is comfortable with, but she's learning. Bike needs a back tire, michellin commander 170/80/15 was delivered today had a new pirelli on frount. But I got the bike for $2200, thought that was excellent for an 04. with 28,000 miles on it. Will post picture tomorrow. Gregg

The wide blade power levers helped my wife, you can get them from parts unlimited they curve back toward the grip to shorten reach but do not affect function. However on her magna I still had to remove a clutch spring for her to be able to handle the clutch in traffic like on main in daytona. Never caused a problem with 2 of the clutch springs removed. Now that she has the Road Star she has no problems with its clutch, pulls much easier than the honda. Gregg

Don't place too much confidence in the E 3's, I have already had to change the frount tire on my old valkyrie, that was put on in may of 2009 just before my nephew got it from me, the tire was dated Mar 09, It has cracked to the cord. They all have bad runs of tires. Gregg

The only one I every bought was a total peice of junk, never made it home. but it was an amf model too. and over the past few years there have been a lot of impluse harley buyers, get caught in the biker fad, but a bike and then realize they didn't really want it. Of course this applies to all brands. Gregg Hey Kirby getting time to ride, long ride.

If its got 287,000, you need spings,. ball joints and A-frame bushing. You can buy a ball joint tool from harbor freight for about 25 bucks. And the last ford frount end I did the parts were not overly expensive from oriely's. If I remember right, the joints, bushing and spings were just under $300.

My wife rides a 99 model, lowered, with fairing, bags, rumble road sound system, and we are ordering the cb and a cruise control for it, she loves it. It is a very low maintenance machine. Gregg
