  1. Now someone has finally came up with top priority, finding the DQ in any given place, but as a fellow Ice cream Head. I can see the greatest importance here. I go into ice cream DT"s easily
  2. Yep, met a guy on a 2000 mm at the gas and go in cordele one morning as I was heading home from work, If his odometer was right, and he was telling the whole story. it had 378,000 miles on it and the only repair had been one rear end at 200,000, he was pulling a trailer at it was running prefectly, he rode with me from cordele to sycamore where I live, he was heading home to Fl. i didn't hear it miss a beat. And I don't know him but Jim Martin ( our former dearler) told me that he had a customer in fitzgerald with one that had 280,000 on it the last time he serviced it. So it might be a long time before you need that engine. Gregg
  3. My 2004 has been the quietest through out the 5000 mile interval with the dino Delo 400 15w40. I ran mobil one 4t and the bike was quiet during the first 2000 miles but got louder during the last 3000. Now granted at it's loudest my bike makes very little chirp and only at certain speeds. I can barely tell its there. Now the 2000 model I had, at 65 miles per hour you could hear it coming from a mile away. It had amsoil in when I bought it at 50,000 miles, and screamed like a banshee. I changed it to mobil one and made some difference, put lucas synthetic in and quieted down a little more but is was awful at 65 mph, speed up to 70 and it would hush. Gregg
  4. Yes I asked and yall are giving me what I asked for, I am actually working on my 70 model 750 four honda, making a chopper out of it, (no it's no a pristine bike, if was i wouldn't touch it) but I have constructed a manifold to run either a side draft TBI, or a single carb, and got thinking about the RSV. But draw backs that have been posted apply to both. The Start of any project or new Idea is when I think one should concider all the negative aspects, after you are into the project and trying to make it work then focus on the postive side until it is successful or failure occurs. Thanks for all the input. Gregg
  5. We were staggered I was in frount, but both of them slid by me, the guy directly behind me must have looked off for a second because it looked like he was at least 10 bike lenghts behind me, but he didn't get stopped till he was in frount of me, he was right up at the car. He did lock up his rear tire was sliding the whole distance after he hit the brake, the other guy didn't lock his, neither did I. Also it was a straight road with no blind spot, the driver just simplely pulled out in frount of us, (no offense intended ladies) but is was a women on her cell phone. She pulled out then saw us and just stopped there blocking the whole road. Gregg
  6. Have seen some on ebay claiming low milege and what seemed to be good prices, don't know that i would want to buy one of ebay though. Gregg
  7. I know and have seen where enterprizing folks have converted Honda Valkyrie's to feul injection even one with multi-port injection, but mostly to throttle body FI and most were supercharged also, if its possible on the valkyrie why not on the RSV. Why can't we make a manifold and use a single side draft throttle body with proper CFM and fuel flow. Point out all the problems to me. Gregg
  8. Delo 400 15-40 every 5000 miles. $12.95 gal at Oreily's Gregg
  9. I think I go back to manufactors filters, or the versa filters. I always used honda filters on the valkyrie and magna, used the same one on the venture until the last case I bought in daytona ran out. I will buy a case at biketoberfest, you can get a good deal on them then. Gregg
  10. Guys its your bike, if you want to plug the ais plug it, its not going to hurt it. I took it completely off my 2000, but haven't touched on the 04, the 04 does not pop. No back to wonders of duck tape, keep a roll in my truck at all times. Along with a roll of hay wire, that's a law in South Ga. I mean the mythbusters built a sail boat out of it, and actually sailed it. simply amazing. Gregg
  11. Bobby bought a device that plugs into the line on the O2 sensors on his 07 electra glide, that fixed his over heating problems, drop his gas milege for awhile but it came back up. Gregg
  12. One thing to consider when riding a RSV with CT along with RSV's with MT If your the one in frount with the kumho on back, and get in a situation where you need to stop suddenly, the one with MT on back can not stop in the same distance. Riding with a couple of guys I met the other day and had to stop for a 4 wheeler that pulled out in frount of us, I got stopped it plenty of time, they slid right by me on each side, neither hit the car but it was close. and they several bike lenghts behind me when this started because I looked in the mirror to see if I was going to be rear ended as soon as I hit the brakes. I know different bikes stops have different stoping distances, my brother's wing will stop shorter than my RSV, bobby's harley takes more distance. But normally when riding with a group of the same bikes you expect them to act close to the same. I just thought I would post this just for info something to have in mind. and yes reaction time plays a part too.
  13. How many miles is on the cobra now, I have 11,000 on mine and it still looks new. Gregg
  14. My wife said the same thing, the RSV has a much smoother ride on the back with kumho, than it did with MT, of course I had the brickstone on back before I changed. But she also said the same about the Valkyrie and it had avon venom Radails on it, before I put the goodyear on. Gregg
  15. I never had any luck with amsoil in anything, high priced hype. Gregg
  16. Fram builds walmarts filters, but I have read that the tec was a very good filter, and if you read the test data on the tec oil, its good too. don't know for a fact but have been told it is from chevron. thanks again Gregg
  17. What size is on the back of your road star, and what size ct are you looking for it, Karren rides one and it has 16 on back. So I was curious about what you have found for it. Gregg
  18. I know a lot of bikers pull trailers, but I just can not seem to get myself to do that. Just chicken I guess Gregg
  19. Becareful have fun. Gregg
  20. I think any premium oil of the proper grade and rating is fine. I was using mobil one 4t (which is a excellent oil), but after looking at the test data I did not see where I was getting any better than delo 400 15/40. But if you like mobil one run it, its going to give you good service, it is the number 1 rated oil. Gregg
  21. I use fram 6017 from walmart Gregg
  22. I am not planning on doing this on a reg basis, just did it to see how the delo holds up in the RSV Delo 400 15/40 at 5140 miles, I pulled a sample and then changed oil. I have a buddy at a lab, so I did not have to pay for this. Anyway the results, there were no abnormal wear patterns indicated. and the oil was shown to be at 40%. He told me I could extend the oil changes to 7500 miles, however I am going to continue to change at 5000 miles. This was just for info, oil analysis can show abnormal and contamination, but would be too expensive just to try to extend oil changes on a bike, but it does indicate to me that the RSV should do well with delo or rotella with 5000 mile change and good filters. When I get the hard copy I will scan it and post it. Gregg
  23. As usual everybody else is wrong and your right. Gregg
  24. Have read and posted on that one, but my point has been made for me on this one. this about up to the eyeballs. Thanks Gregg PS I think we are going to be up your way in the fall, will give you a call and maybe we can meet up and ride. Gregg
  25. I have the Avon Cobra on frount and kumho on back, 36 psi frount, 32 psi back. I have no wobble issues, and my bike handles perfectly. As to this thread, this is the darksiders forum, we have all read the points against the car, I don't see the need for any more, we like the ride and the one's that did not have went back to the MT. The way I see it, the ones that disagree with the car and post here are just trying to start a pissing contest, there is no other reason for them to keep posting here. Gregg
