  1. Think of your arms, the RSV won't try to tear your arms out of socket idling at the red light. Gregg
  2. Sirus radio the way to go, itws well worth the $112 a year. Gregg
  3. Sorry you got hurt, hope you heal fast with no problems. But don't feel so dumb. As I tell people " If you ride a bike, eventually your gonna drop a bike." Sooner or later everyone gets bit. Best of luck. PS follow the physical therapy instructions, it helps prevent complications later. You may not feel you need it but do it anyway. I can't help it I'm a RN have to give the lecture. Gregg
  4. Hope to see some VentureRiders at the rally. If you come I am on lot 155. We will have some chips and dip, and other goodies friday night at My camp site, so let me know if your coming and we will have plenty. We allways fix more than we have people, so if you decide to come at the last minute come on anyway, the more the merrier. EVERYONE is always welcome at our camper. Gregg
  5. David is looking for another goldwing, we may still fix his, after he got the damage off he said it didn't look that bad. He did get an accident report written just after the accident. The deputies and ems came out there very quickly. David is a paramedic/ER NURSE and was on his way to work, which he went on in, and they checked him over very well. He was able to complete his shift. Where we live, especially out near david's house, we see deer every time we ride. It was luck the deer was small, and one of a goldwing's major attibutes is they tend to want to stay upright at speed, he almost went down on the pavement at impact but he said the wing righted itself and went into the ditch, the soft mud it stopped in is what keep the injuries to a min. PLUS the lord was watching over him. He said the only thing going through his mind was Dawn's really gonna be mad if I get hurt. Thanks for all your concern, it is really great to know that there are still people who have time to care. Thanks agian From from all of us Gregg
  6. Thats a major point with insurance, staying with the same company, you can change some but too much will cost, years age my mother in law, shopped for the lowest price everytime she had to renew, I told that was not a good idea, after 4 or fives changes no one would cover her, she had to go with a high risk company and it cost, after that she finally got back on with cotton states and has not moved since. Gregg
  7. My friend David Bean hit a deer Sunday evening on the way to work, He was not injured but his Goldwing was not so lucky, David was a member here but dropped out when he sold his Venture. The deer was a hundred feet from the inpact point and the bike traveled another 200 ft. He went off the road into a muddy ditch which stopped him and the bike fell over, tupperware is shattered, parts missing, left crash bar and radiator bent up, frount forks bents. He went on to work, In the ER he an RN in the er. Left the bike on its side in the ditch, I got off work Monday morning from the ICU and met him there and we fished her out, damage lokks bad, and worst of all he thought he had full coverage insurance and only had liability was an 88 model. Gregg
  8. Mine is with grange, less than 300 a year, 297.79 I think was the last bill. That for full coverage with $250 deductable on collision, on my 2004 RSV and Karren 1999 Road star, liability and theft only on my 1974 cl360, and 1971 CL 100. it breaks down to RSV $147 a year road star $92 a year cl 360 $32 a year cl 100 $17 a year plus a policy fee of $21 Our cars are also insured with grange also, they require you to insure all of your motor vehicles with them to get discounts. we have 4 vehicles plus a motorhome. Of course progressive has multiple bike discounts, when we were with them, it was cheaper to insure four bikes than just one. Gregg
  9. I have the one he throws into the sink, you know the one that does not open like a clam, it works just fine, no problems. and as far as the cleaning a little 10% clorox water will clean anything. Gregg
  10. They do infact have a function, they keep your leg from touching the valve cover when get on and off the bike, even they get hot but not as hot as the valve cover. Gregg

  12. Check the silenoid switch on top of the starter too for cranking problems. The headlights on that model are powered by the primary wire directly to the light switch then through dimmer switch. also check your bulbs, they could all be bad. Gregg
  13. Consider Avons or Michellins. The avon cobra is excellent on the frount, it is a little smaller than stock physically but is the same number size, 150/80/16. Read the darkside forum on here there is a lot of tire info there. There are also many threads about tires in other areas of this site. Gregg
  14. I was eating ice cream the other night when it was 17 degrees and calling it good. The only time you don't eat ice cream is, when your out. Then you know what time it is ------------------------------- It's time to go to the store. Gregg
  15. Yep have not rode with shorts on since 1981, slide down the asphalt. But when its hot I don't wear leather. Gregg
  16. Donphantasmo I think you missed it, the way I see approx 10% of everyone, all races, all religions, any different way you can classify person are morons, and the rest of us have to tollerate them because we can't kill, the Lord frowns on that. People just can't seem to seperate that fact, it seems we want to blame one group or another, not realizing that most of the worlds problems are actually caused by a small groups of fanatical people fighting each other trying to force the rest of us to live their way. Your right about hating all people of any group, we all need learn to place blame where it belongs, not on an person that had nothing do with the action. Gregg
  17. The pond in my frount yard is froze over, never seen that before, and I had to build and pump house today because my well is freezing during the night, never happened before. So it's cold, but I still road my bike to town to get pipe fitting today. Gregg:nanner:
  18. The easy way, find you a hyperdermic needle 18 gauge, and a 12 cc syringe, mix up some warm soapy water, use the syringe to inject the water between the bar and grip, just stick the needle straight through the grip in a couple of places. It will then slide off with no damage. Be care not to stick yourself. Gregg
  19. No we do daytona in Oct. but have been to angelcity every spring. Gregg
  20. Alright I know somebody is interrested.

For those not familiar with it visit the web site at www.angelcityrally.com I will be in my usual spot, campsite 155, rally is April 14 to 18. Anyone planning on going let me know, I am hard to miss, I have a yellow and white 1971 dodge travco motorhome. There were some RSV's there last year but I only talked with one and he was not a member at that time. It's a fun rally to me Gregg

  23. They don't have lawyers trying to sue them everytime they turn around. Gregg
  24. I thought it was a first generation, oh but wait, it's not quite that ugly is it. gregg:stirthepot:
  25. If you want to blame for all that rediculous paper work, you can put the blame where it belongs. Trial lawyers, they have caused it all. They claim they have made better health care, and safe products, when in reality all they have done is made thing cost 10 times what it should especially in the medical field. Gregg
