ENGINE MOUNT POSITIONS-help ?
86er replied to jasonm.'s topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Hey Squidley, did I miss something "I just took some pics of how they are on my '86."? When did you get an 86, and where are the pics?!?!? -
, Yeah, George! You, of all people, should know the rules! Go get pics tomorrow! Don't make us send Lewis after you!

I found VR.o with a google search in late 04 after I bought my 86. I didn't get on much and forgot about it until I searched again in 06 and found out about Vogel! I went to that and that's all it took to get me hooked. Of course right after Vogel, I tried to log on and couldn't get on. I figured that after I met everyone at the rally, they didn't want me here any more! Then I found out about the CRASH OF 06 and felt better!

Dave, get some Devcon Plastic Welder in the hardware dept of WallyWorld and some fiberglass cloth. The PW is a two part epoxy. Lay the cloth into it and then grind it down with a Dremel or such. You can remake the tabs that way. Click HERE for a thread on the repair to my bike where I used JB Weld and Plastic Welder. Good Luck, Man!

Helmet didn't seem to help much, except to make a little nicer corpse.

I'm 55 and still love camping, in a tent no less! A trailer would be like staying in the Ritz! You will find that when you camp on a motorcycle you meet a lot of people. They will even seek you out to talk to you. KOAs are nice and have clean showers (Carry flip-flops though!) and have clean restrooms. A lot of them even have WiFi so you can keep up with VR.O. State parks have really nice facilities as well. When I'm on a long trip I'll stay at a motel maybe once a week just for the luxury, but I really like the camping and enjoying the sounds and smells of being outside. You can't have a campfire, or listen to the crickets chirp, or the birds sing in the morning, or a creek babble right next to you, in a Holiday Hotel! There are some really nice m/c campgrounds around too. I'll try to post some links to the info that I have, later.

Glad you guys made it home OK! I hope you didn't have anymore trouble. Thanks for the pics, Bobbie! I'll try and post a fewof mine later.

I figure you can trust the rev limiter (maybe not too often!) because Yami set it up. I don't know about the 2nd gen, but my first gen pulls all the way to 10k revs. That is where my rev limiter kicks in; and shifting to 3rd at that point is 103 on the clock. I don't use that very often, but it's nice to know that it is there!

People say that I don't have any respect for the handicapped; But that's not true! I know that if it weren't for them, I never would find a parking place! In Ga. you can get handicap plates for a scoot. And if one bike in the space has handicapped plates, then you can park as many bikes there as can fit, even if they don't have them.

Oil leak - XVZ1300
86er replied to MiCarl's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
It sounds suspiciously like the clutch shaft oil seal. #24 on the schematic from FlatOut Motorcycles. -
Trust me, Redneck, they are both so nice that if I could afford it, I'd buy them both! But I've already had a call about each, so it looks like I won't even need to list them anywhere.

Hey Popeye, if you're interested in, as Squeeze so eloquently put it: A 20 years old Japanese Bike, or maybe 30, I have a couple for sale. They belonged to my friend that just passed away. I told his wife that I'd take on selling them. 1. '86 Honda XL250R, 2287 miles $1000 2. '72 (I think) Yamaha XS750D, 39518 miles $1200 The 250 is a dual sport so it is street legal. The 750 was, I believe, the first with dual front discs and the first driveshaft for MamiYami. It also comes with a spare engine, instrument cluster(s) and "stuff"! I haven't listed these anywhere yet, but will soon. If you're interested, PM me. Both are in exceptional shape.

Blackjack and Dragonrider joined me, and two other friends that rode with Greg, at the memorial service today. Valerie, Greg's widow, thanked us for showing up on the bikes and in riding gear, because Greg would have liked that. I said that is the only way I would send off a riding buddy. http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e138/TMagEnterprises/Extra%20Junk/100_1338.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e138/TMagEnterprises/Extra%20Junk/100_1340.jpg In order: Russ, Blackjack, Dragonrider & Chris. http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e138/TMagEnterprises/Extra%20Junk/100_1341.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e138/TMagEnterprises/Extra%20Junk/100_1342.jpg After the celebration of Greg's life, we stopped by Taco Mac to raise a few glasses in his honor. That, btw, is how I want to go. Friends on their bikes, and having a good time with friends in remembrance!

headset location and info for first gen venture royale
86er replied to wannabees's topic in General Tech Talk
That kind of depends on what you're talking about, Brad. The button between the intercom volume and the radio volume, is to switch from the dash speakers to the helmet speakers and back. As to the headphone jack, you're not looking for a 1/4" or 1/8" plug. It is probably the DIN plug to which that is referring. It should be coming from the radio box and sit up by the "tank". -
That really is great Cliff!!! Any progress is wonderful progress! Our prayers remain with you and Kenneth.

I think either you or Lewis could fit that rig up....................well, never mind!
