No firing from here. Does not mater what you are in, if you drive wild you're going to hit something or someone is going to hit you. I have witnessed 5 motorcycle accidents in my life time so far. (5 to many) 3 were due to the motorcyclist not driving / riding sensibly (one passed a cage on right side of a two lane road hit by turning car, one riding wheel y through red light and one that pulled right in-front of a semi and stopped to turn "truck had them locked up with no place to go") and two were from the cages not paying attention. With all that said, you STILL need to drive / ride defensively AND offensively. Assume that cage is going to pull out in-front of you, that cage is going to turn in-front of you, not see you, and be ready to counter act. Bryan

Cougar (AKA Jeff) road over this morning to help me install the Polk 401's I got. I had not had the bike apart and asked Jeff a few questions. To answer my questions he says why don't I just come over and help. Well I just said "well slap me silly and call me...." OK, I didn't say that, more like YES PLEASE!!!! Jeff was here at 7:00am, (cool ride over, but said it was good) and with his help and knowledge of how things came apart, I now have GOOD speakers in place of my cracked / broken ones! And they sound goooooooooood! Many thanks to Jeff for going out of his way to help a fellow member! "Hint Hint Boss" Thanks again, Bryan

Couple Finds Their Flag Cut Into Pieces POSTED: 5:03 pm CDT May 11, 2010 &nbs DES MOINES, Iowa -- A Des Moines couple, Lynn and Paul Montgomery, said someone stole an American flag from their front yard and apparently compounded the offense by cutting the flag into pieces.Lynn Montgomery said she probably wouldn't have called police if the 3-by-5 foot flag hadn't been cut up.She said she found only one small scrap of the flag in the yard after last week's theft.A police report filed on Monday lists no suspects. Thieves also took the flag pole.Lynn Montgomery said she and her husband will replace the flag and pole once they can find them on sale. Why is there people out there like that? I hope they find them and think what ever the perpetrator did, SHOULD happen to them. Might just make some, think before they do something? Bryan

I had both our seats done. The seats "to us" feel firmer, but we can ride and not "hit bottom" so to speak. We like them and can ride much longer with out our butt bones hitting anything. Hope that helps? Bryan

Headlight problem... Please help...
bryan52577 replied to yamadawg's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have seen some on here say the wires are getting pinched in the steering head when you turn the handle bars all the way, (one way or the other). May want to check that too. Not sure how your driving lights are wired in but would think you should not have lost both at same time. Unless head light bulb burnt out and wire to driving lights went bad/ pinched at same time? Hows that for coincidents? Good luck, Bryan -
Going to try E III's

Good tires,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,little more road noise than the Avons (my ) ,,,, but good tires. Bryan -
You will need to split the fairing to get to the light assembly. So to get to that point here is the link to split the fairing. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=494 Bryan

Dodge Charger 1974 with 318ci with 340 heads. Ran VERY good and still got 26 mpg! "As long as you kept your foot out of the four barrel I had on it." Now I got a 6cyl that is front wheel drive, no fun and gets a whooping 33mpg on the open road. WOW,36 years, much less power, no more "fun" and "7mpg" better? Can you say (screwed) on here? Bryan

Well on my Honda Shadow I will swear by the Metzlers 880's. But on the Venture I run Avons or Dunlop E-3's. To many bad reviews about the Metzlers coming apart on the Ventures from others that had them for me to take that big of a chance. Avon's have a sidewall cracking issue too. I have not had that problem,,,,YET. Bryan

I had the privilege to meet your son at Snarly Bill's ride last spring. What a fine young man he is too. We are so proud of him and know he will keep us safe from harm. And we pray he too returns to the great parents that raised such a fine man! You have our prayers as well as all the other service men & women representing our fine country! Bryan & Lisa

Mark, Glad to hear that, I did the smaller tire 150 to 130 "by accident" and could not be happier with my handling. Like going from a tank to a dirt bike for handling, huh. Bryan

I had brand new Avons and had the same thing. Turns out tire was bad. It would balance, but was out of round. Avon gave me a new one. Bryan

I have not seen anything about how many lights you have on the back of your trailer. Separate turn signals ect. Trailers from a factory will typically be wired as follows. How many wires you have and if you need a converter will depend on how many lights. A lot of small trailers are grounded through the hitch as was said before. I have two factory built trailers that way that I haul the mower and things on. Hope you can find this helpful? Bryan At the back of the RSV the colors are as follows: Dark green is the right turn signal. Dark brown is the left turn signal. Blue is the tail light. Yellow is the brake light.(Well yellow doesn't show up well but you get the picture) Black is ground. (You will need to change a wire here or there to get the proper lights to work but this will give you an idea as to what is where NOW and make the change easier. As you can see green is the only wire that is for the correct light "right turn"). US trailer wiring specs as follows: 4 way flat molded connectors allow basic hookup for three lighting functions; right turn signal / stop light (green), left turn signal / stop light (yellow), taillight / license / side marker (brown) and a ground (white). 5 Way Systems Same as 4 way system listed above but adds a extra blue wire for brake signal or auxiliary power. Used on pop up camper trailers or utility / boat trailers.

I don't have trailer brakes now. I had the 1100 Honda Shadow Spirit wired so trailer brakes only came on when I pulled in on front brake. Used diodes to block power to trailer brakes when I used foot brake. I did not want the trailer to "pull" me straight when in a corner, or even come on in a corner. And since I never use the "front" brake while "in" a corner then I thought it was best if the trailer didn't brake either. I do my "braking" to slow down before the curve / corner. Like some of the others I don't have trailer brakes anymore. Never had "sticking" problems, just didn't feel the need for them. Never had any problems, just more things to keep maintenance on. Bryan
