  6. Hope you start feeling better soon and heal fast. Glad you jumped back on, but if you hurt to bad , no shame in saying so.
  7. Do you have a steering stablizer?
  8. For an 87 you would have to look on E Bay.
  9. David---I'm surprised that Don (Freebird) has not answered this yet. I will send him a messeage so he can send you his address. Alot of people ship their tires or large acc. to his house ahead of time so they can be installed at MD. I forgot, there will be a dealer there this year bringing parts and acc.--thats an option for your tires. Message sent to Freebird.
  10. I know how you feel. You have never met any of us,but believe me. Everyone on this site will bend over backwards to help a Venturerider. If you stick around and read on this site you will find offers to help others almost every day, from free parts (just pay shipping) to help working on the bike, to roadside assistance, to opening their home to another Venturerider for whatever reason. If you could put off picking the bike up untill June 4th and come to Freebirds MD, you would soon learn what I'm talking about. We are all a big family and family help each other. As an example, Aussie Anne and Quickstep are coming to the US from Austria for the summer and several members here have offered to open their homes to them, even tho they have never met. Keep an eye on the calendar and try to make any meet and eats or events. As far as Hummingbirds offer, he has a mc lift made by a company that bolts to the bed of his truck and lifts the bike then moves it forward. and locks in place. Its a great setup. His wife can't ride long distance, so he loads the bike and pulls a camper to stay in. Hope to meet you someday at a Venturerider event-untill then- Ride safe and enjoy your new bike. Gil Oh and when you get it home, take some pic's and post. We all love pics.
  11. Dick has the ultimate way to haul bikes. When I get old, I want to haul my bike around like him. couldn't help it Dick,
  12. Just saw this, so glad everything went fine. Here's to a fast recovery and you will be in our thoughts and prayers. Gil
  13. From where the bike is to Oberlin is only 55 miles. about an hour away. Changing tires and balancing, tune-ups and carb sync is all standard at Maintenance Day. And meeting everyone here is a big plus, well worth the extra time off. Fly in Friday, attend MD Friday and Saturday getting bike checked out and ride home Mon. and Tues. Oh and you can bring the wife also.
  14. Like everyone said, your front springs are shot and the progressive are stiffer springs and won't need air in the front after you install them. For your info, I have an 86 with orginal springs in the front with 38,000 miles on the bike. I run 10-15 lbs front and 40- 45 rear two up @ about 350 lbs + or - for the two of us. Damping set on 3, but I like a stiffer ride.
  15. Left at 5 am today. Thought if I could average 130 mph on the old 86 VR that I might make it in time. Cops finally caught me half way though Kentucky, said they had been chasing me sence Columbus, Oh. They confiscated my bike. Now what am I going to ride. Its all your fault Squid.
  16. me too,nice looking bike
  17. HAPPY BIRTHDAY From the Fisher family
  18. The two dogs we have belong to both of the kids. We call them our grandpuppies. LOL They are very much part of our family. We got the Aussie about a month after we had to put down the lab, which was 14. My wife said no more dogs, but when she went with our son to look at the dog she fell in love. I don't think my life would be very happy if I didn't have a dog around. In time you both will be ready for more dogs, but you will always remember the others. I feel for you and your family.
  19. I twisted a lower disk 25 yrs ago and it would pinch nerves in my back. I would get migranes and see triple on some days. The doctor tried to give me musle relaxers and I handed the perscription back to him and told him I was going to see a chiropractor. He worked on me several times before everything fell back into place. Now I go for well visits when it bothers me. Depending on what I do to aggrivate it, depends on my lower back pain on any givin day. My advice would be to ask some friends and find a good chiropractor let him give you an exam and see what he says. Mine has turned people down and advised them to see a specialist for surgury. ( two people that I sent his way) My family doctor also did not have a bad thing to say about chiropractors and told me if it didn't work to come back and see him. Hope everything ends up fine, and you get some relief.
  20. Ok someone is really bored today. No one hid any easter eggs for you to look for I guess.
  21. Here's hoping you and your family have a Happy Easter.
  22. Hope you have many happy miles with the new ride. Seen that color at the Harley shop and its really nice close up. Congrats
  23. So sorry to hear of your mom passing. Prayer's are being sent for you and your family. I still go to my mom's grave and talk to her about problems and somehow she gives me answere's. She always seemed to know how to handle and take care of anything. I think most mom's are like that and know us better than we know ourselves.
  24. Joyce and Larry,Congrats on the years together. Hope you have many more.
  25. Annie,so sorry to hear this. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.
