1. Been times when I should have used that kit given to me from my Mom. But then again, if I would have, I would not have as much now. I think common sense comes from being a good listener and keeping ones mouth shut when the time is not yet. I may have earned some common sense, but I have a hard time keeping my mouth shut sometimes and my mouth gets ahead of my brain, and therefore the common sense gets kicked out of the picture, and stupidity kicks in and comes out of the mouth. Then I have to pay the piper and think, "Why in the world did I not listen to common sense and do this or that." It takes patience to be able to use your common sense. Sometimes patience comes from hard times and hanging in there. Sometimes we must be tempered into a lot of life. To be tempered we have to go through a lot of fire and sometimes suffering. How in the world did I get off on all that ? Have a good day ! Fuzzy
2. Happy birthday, and yes, which one is you ? Fuzzy :thumbsup2:
3. I am as you Bob, thanks for the post. I feel the same way. A good comparison when passing on the interstate. My family says that that it would have to be a car because there are a lot more of them and like someone else already mentioned, younger drivers. I also would say that a large number of the motorcycle accidents take place with those on the crotch rockets rather than the type of bikes most of us here ride. I have seen some pretty gruesome wrecks on yahoo with the crotch rockets. I also have experienced some of the young and older riders being sow offs and almost loose their lives. I saw one go into a death wobble and only the good Lord good have brought him out, and he did. Same here, just my humble opinion. Fuzzy
4. Thanks Joe, I was wondering about my fine feathered friend also. I see you live on Goose Creek. MMMmmm,,,,,,,,,,,, Fuzzy :thumbsup2:
5. Is he pretty affordable ? I hope so, with cost of gas and groceries and motorcycle tires now a days. Thanks, James
6. Sad situation there. Same has happened here also. When this stuff corrupts those we trust to give honest judgement, then we are in bad shape and need serious help in our country. James
7. Steve, I hate to hear this. I hope all goes well neighbor. Follow the doctors orders. I am trying to, and I know it is hard sometimes. We will be remembering you and yours. Let us know if we can help in any way. James 606 -286 - 2078
8. Hope he does well Don. You had me going there for a bit. Nothing to worry about, he has got to get his feet wet somewhere, might as well be Apple. Then move on up to, say something else ?????? Really though, I can see through this, you are a proud Pop, I would be. My daughter is finishing college and is doing well in the Social Work she is interested in. She has already turned down several jobs. She says she is wanting nothing less than what she has been trained for. She is working now at Kings Daughters Hospital in Ashland,Ky. Also the library at college and still finishing college. So I am a proud Pop too. She is 21 years old. Fuzzy :thumbsup2:
9. I have been updating and adding several different ads to my list. I know I might have caused some interference or something. I have been having trouble getting the pics to load up on the triple version of my Stinger Flag Mount. When you change something the classifieds sends out a message and probably caused some confusion or problems. So sorry my friends. I will wait until later to try to finish so I do not cause to many problems. Fuzzy So I am going to
10. Been following your thread Ruffy. Glad you are coming along. I had left shoulder surgery, and I am also on the heavy side. You have inspired me to try to loose some weight and to take my physical therapy very seriously, thank you. I am in the third week and therapist is at no more than 90 degrees on raising my arm, very painful there. I have lost 25 pound, started out at 300 and now at 275 and kinda hanging there. I am 5' 11" also and kinda a large person. After surgery I have had a lot of problems with my throat. I spit up blood for 2 days after and throat was really raw. Still giving me problems, throat sore right now and it has been going on three weeks. They have damaged my throat when they put the tube down my neck for surgery. Anyhow, I have to go,but wanted to let you know I have been following the thread and you are still in our prayers. Hope you the very best and the same for next January. Fuzzy
11. That was really good. Thanks for posting. I am so glad they where not riding wheelies. Good showmanship....... Fuzzy :thumbsup2:
12. I see, thank you. That makes a lot of sense. Congratulations on a nice build. I understand because you have really done your research and spent a lot of time and money getting it right. Nice job........:thumbsup2: Fuzzy
13. I would not use this at all on these beasts. Fuzzy
14. Maybe a sticky that includes the states as well. Then as they are done, just check them off for all to see and we will have an idea of how to plan a ride and work it all out to get them all done. As I said earlier, I can do Charleston,West Virginia and Frankfort,Kentucky with no problems. I am recovering from shoulder surgery and figure I could at least be able to get these two. Fuzzy
15. Thanks Tom for the update. It really means a lot to me and I am sure others as well. If Ponch or anyone else here ever needs me and my help in what ever large or small way, I will do my best to be there in honor of my friend Ponch. May he and all his family have a peaceful and enjoyable life. Fuzzy :thumbsup2:
16. I am out. Never did like it anyhow. I thank you for this useful thread. I have wanted out for some time now. Glad it is gone in my humble opinion. I have voiced my opinions about it from the beginning and wondered why was it necessary now a days. Just send me a message here or e-mail. Better than, give me a call. Fuzzy :thumbsup2:
17. Thanks Dingy. I will go and look it up now. http://www.gadgetjq.com/headlightmodulator.htm Fuzzy
18. Progressive Springs.....Is this a need for the second generation bikes or something that was upgraded and is only used on the first generation bikes? Information comes up some on the first generation bikes. I weigh around 275 - 285 lbs, 5' 11" tall. So kinda large fellow. I have noticed my bike being a little to soft or springy kinda jumpy on a hard pushing right or left lean curve. Maybe I just need to do the air shock stabilizing mod to the front forks. I need a pump just for this. Next on my need to get list. Fuzzy
19. Snaggletooth, got a bone to pick with you. I quoted you on another thread last night and you have not responded. I am getting tired of looking to see if you responded. You are getting lazy and forgetful in your old age. Fuzzy
20. Thanks Dingy, now I feel more up to date here on the modulated light. #1. I can turn it off to keep it out off the motorcycle in front of me rear view. I can have it on if I am the leader or by myself. #2. The State Patrol was not being just quickly interviewed. This was set up and done as part of a public awareness meeting through the state Police Dept., that I know do these type meetings. Should have known Ohio would not allow this because they are one of the few respected law enforcing states that I know of. #3. It may become a very useful tool and I suppose fully legal every where. #4. How true this is about to much signage sometimes and for sure to much advertisement. We have discussed this in a few of the many meetings we have at the State HWY Dept. here in Kentucky. #5. Never thought about the pulsating school bus light that has been used for several years. Good reminder... OK, now I think I want one Dingy. Where and how much and how difficult and please do a simple how to mod with a lot of pictures and describing if not already done ????? Fuzzy :thumbsup2:
21. Well shoot, no fitment for a 2007 RSTD that I can find ? Very convincing results, thanks for the thread. I liked the videos on their site also, very convincing, but hope they become more friendly to the rest of us. Fuzzy
22. Sounds good Steve, but I already have both of mine in a box in the garage. I always miss out on the good deals. But I have to say, I think I almost got the same deal from Dennis Kirk. I always find them cheaper there. You might want to check them out too neighbor. Fuzzy
23. Got ya, April fools day. I promise not to lie to you again until next April fools day. Fuzzy
24. Yes, I agree. I would think he would need some facts to be allowed such a statement coming from a respective job as his. With the public safety in mind... Fuzzy
25. I agree Randy. Being a State Hwy Dept. employee, driving everyday sometimes for 12-16 hr shifts on snow and ice in a tandem salt truck. I have almost saw it all in the last ten years. I do honestly believe the flashing I mean pulsating (would be a better word, for the really do not actually flash) do draw attention in a big way. Just as Hummingbird says though, they definitively get your attention, but sometimes when the attention is not needed, as in your review mirror. I have saw the pulsating light for at least a half a mile away and knew it was a bike. Have never had one behind me. I would have to see one in my review on my bike and or in my 4 wheeler before making a decision to add this. Some bikes headlights and mine does some, vibrate as they come at you too. I have had a view say they saw my headlight vibrating and knew it was me. I think people would be more lead to think this was an emergency vehicle than a flashing to pull out or such. Something to think about here. I do like every aspect to more visibility, but still remains a fact that some will not see you anyhow. When we first started wearing the high vis yellow green striped shirts at work, we all where kinda embarrassed about it. Now we do not think nothing of it. The clothes do help sometimes, but most time, even if they are looking straight at you and are on the phone or just in a trans, then you will not be seen, no matter. Believe you me, while standing there flagging and hoping that they have saw the three before hand signs and your bright yellow clothes, flashing and pulsating truck caution lights, and still head toward the oncoming traffic or the co-workers(your friends) or you on a tractor mowing or being loaded in a truck. There is something besides just being seen. You must be attentive and take the responsibility strongly when driving 2 ton of steel destruction down the hwy. If not, then the strongest penalization should be given. We need to instill in the younger generation the responsibilities of driving, just as was instilled in the most of us. Also the older generation need to deal with the fact that we will become older if we live, and we will not be able to take the responsible actions necessary to drive safely when our bodies are slowly shutting down. I think another driving test would be and should be given to all involved in an accident when the circumstances calls for it,young and old. Also at a respective older age we should have to start taking a test every two years, an actual driving test. Fuzzy
