  1. yamahamer, would the diaphram stuck cause gas to come out of exhaust. I saw a little dampness at the left end muffler. Looked like it might be gas coming out pipe, decided probably was not , but am keeping eye on it. I sent seat to Rick Butler to have modifyed, so can't ride till get it back.
  2. No did not sync Tom.Bike has 960 miles on it. I asked the mechanic at dealer and he said if running fine did not need sync. He did say that most time with after market pipes you should rejet carbs. It does run fine so far, I mean really good, idles sweet.
  3. :confused24:Thought I would be getting better gas mileage after Roadhouse pipes and K&N filters(36 mpg). I plugged AIS correctley and bike seems to be running fine. (38 mpg) before pipes and filters and AIS plugging, only 960 miles on bike ??? Maybe need to rejet later ???? Got upwards of the 40 mpg today:cool10: My bike runs wonderful. Syncing the carbs did the trick. Will check mpg several times to get exact reading later. Thanks everyone for your help.
  4. Sending my seat to Rick Butler Monday. From what I have saw and read, modify is best. Fuzzy:080402gudl_prv:
  5. New 2007 RSTD - 860 mile so far, first service, exspect to add about 200,000 to that. Fuzzy
  6. Thanks Phil, I will keep my eyes on that. I remember a post from someone saying that the chrome might not be so great. So I thought I would clean the bike in the morning and wax them pipes about twice, although they seem to have good deep chrome. Taking off work tommorrow to take bike in for first service. Mostly want the valves checked, and if they will let me, I am going to watch and see that everything done. I talked to dealer 2 weeks ago and he told me I could watch. James
  7. I will let you know as soon as I have I had time to honestly check the gas mileage. I got 38 mile per gallon on the stock pipes. The performance after Roadhouse pipes seems to be better. Really runs and idles smooth, very quick throttle response. James
  8. Pipes $281.00 / K&N $82.00 ........ And ya there goes the neighbors down the holler. You aught to here them there pipes in the hollers a echoeing, sweet . My buddy and I finished putting on the filters and plugging AIS at his garage over in Elliot county back on a high ridge(Sat. night around 11:30 pm). When we opened the garage door, I told JD that someone might call the law, and he said knewwww. So I kranked her up and let her roar. :rotf:He said he heard me on my way home for miles. Sorry, will do pics later when finished with upgrades. James
  9. Jerry, Let us know how it turns out. I too would like to have a little bit of pull back on my 2007 RSTD. Thanks, James
  10. Got the pipes on everyone, and love the sound(Roadhouse Pipes - slash cut). Loud enough but not to loud. Very good rumble. Installation OK, just did not care for the wood block and hammer persuasion I had to use. But still worked out good. Have to kinda wiggle them as you go and take a wood block and drive them on a little ways at a time (wood block against the muffler hanger ). Then bolt up and tighten clamp. I also used some high heat silicone on pipe /muffler connection. I then unplugged the AIS and installed K&N filters. Purrs like a lion. I like the Roadhouse, good chrome to the end of slash cut pipes. I did not go with Bubs because I did not like the polished aluminum ends, I like the slash cut. Fuzzy

  12. I received the pipes and filters today, just as Dennis Kirk said I would. I will probably try put them on this week end. Will get back to everyone. Paid $ 281.00 pipes and $ 82.00 filters. Price came from shopsomerset and Dennis Kirk matched price plus shipping. I saved $ 67.00 by calling customer service. James
  13. I got a driver backrest from Chrome World International. The first one was so uncomfortable, and I had adjusted it all the way back as far as I could. I was still sitting up next to tank. So I checked the part # on e-net and found out that they had sent wrong part. Even though it did bolt on correctly,it was for older model. So about 4 weeks later they sent me another. I bolted it on and better but it to was still to close to tank. I drilled another set of mounting holes and tried it out on short ride this evening, finally comfortable and able to adjust. No more Chrome World International for me...... Fuzzy
  14. Thanks Philmartin, and thanks to everyone for your opinion. I will keep everybody informed on the pipes. :cool10:I should receive them tomorrow (Thur.). Fuzzy
  15. I hope I made the right decision here you all. I have been searching for 2 weeks now and finally decided. I wanted to hear rumble , but not have to wear ear plugs and wanted the slash cut and easy removable baffles. I think I made the right choice. And for everyones information out there, Dennis Kirk will match prices with anyone, saved me $67.00 by making a phone call to customer service. Also for everyones info, Vance and Hines does not make pipes for 2007 Royal Star Tour Deluxe or any Royal Star for that matter. This came from them after I e-mailed and ask the company directly. I heard that I would maybe have to unplug or plug off smog control ???? I hope I will be satisfied with the pipes ??? James
