Russell, I took the "Sticky" off of this for now. We can put it back at some point if you decide to proceed.

I THINK that they make the commanders in radial and bias versions. Not 100% sure. At one time, they did not offer them in the RSV sizes in radials, that may have changed now.

Of COURSE you count and thank you so much for what you do.

Her email account has likely been hacked. Better tell her to check it and change her password. A lot of hotmail, gmail and etc. accounts have been hacked for the very purpose of promoting these bogus websites. I got one from somebody a few days ago and I KNOW that person did not actually send it on purpose.

I want to thank Allen and Patti of Diamond R Accessories for letting us know about their Christmas sale. Not only is Diamond R one of the few companies in the WORLD who actually manufacture and sell custom accessories for our bikes but they have always been a FANTASTIC supporter of our club. If you haven't checked out their site, now would be a GREAT time to do so. They are having a Christmas Special on ALL products (10% off regular prices) while supplies last. Check them out at: http://www.diamondraccessories.com

CAUTION CAUTION CAUTION Do a Google search about sales-digital. There are all kinds of ripoff reports and etc. There are a number of these scams going on right now. Great looking websites that appear completely legit but are NOT. Just the latest way to rip people off.

I agree with you but will respect the privacy of those who do not want the recognition.

Cigarette Lighter
Freebird replied to starkruzen's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
The description says: This power point/cigarette lighter will keep them charged. It has what looks like a cigarette lighter element in the picture also but I can't tell for sure.- 15 replies

To submit a restaurant review
Freebird posted a topic in Computer help and tips for using this site.
We have a dedicated forum for the purpose of members sharing their favorite restaurants around the country. It is a bit confusing because it uses forms to keep them all formatted the same and many people have asked how to submit a review. There are two ways to do so. 1. There are two menu bars at the top of the forum. In the lower menu bar on the far right side just beside the link to Log Out is a link called "Quick Links". If you click on Quick Links, the last item in the menu that opens up is "Submit Restaurant". Just click on that and you will be taken to a page with the forms for each area. 2. On the home page of the forum there are blue bars that designate each forum. Watering Hole, Tech Talk areas, etc. The one for the restaurant section says "Member Restaurant Reviews" and just under that, still in the blue bar, is text that says "Click here to submit your favorite restaurants". That is the text you want to click on and it will take you to the same forms at the link under "Quick Links". -
Clicking on Motorcycle Superstore may pay per click..I don't remember. I know that if you click on it to make your purchases from them it pays a bit. New Enough works differently. If a member buys from them and then chooses VentureRiders as their preferred club when they check out, they put a buck in our club account. We can then hold contests for a gift certificate or a price for our rally. We have given away 3 gift certificates here I think in various contests over the years. Members get a discount from Diamond R Accessories plus they have been a generous donor to our rallies.

Another that you might want to check out is coveralls. They make one that is very easy to pack. They donated a couple of them that we gave away at our rally this year. http://www.coveralls.biz/

Click on VRAwards in the menu bar at the top of the forum and request the awards that apply to you.

Fork wind deflectors
Freebird replied to Trimster's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I agree that they do serve a purpose and I like them. I also agree that the rubber bumpers need to touch the forks and that is why I have never put the light bar spacer on my bike. That being said, and me being very careful to ensure that mine were always touching, I did finally lose one a couple of years ago coming home from Georgia. I replaced them with the SS brackets and deflectors from http://www.diamondraccessories and have never had another problem. -
Actually, there are a LOT of forums where you have to pay and I think the $12.00 is about the cheapest I have seen. I just looked at the VTXOA site and can see why it is free. Most of the home page is ads. There are ads between posts in the forum. There is nothing wrong with that if it's what the members want so please don't take this as a slam against that site. The fact is, SOMEBODY pays to host and run a website. In that case, the advertisers are paying and the members apparently prefer to see a lot of ads that to pay out of their pockets to support it. I have no problem if that is what how they wish to run it. This was discussed here long ago and the vast majority of folks did NOT want the site cluttered with ads. Heck..I even had a couple of complaints with the one little ad box at the upper right. As for people posting away, I agree.....I have never tried to discourage anybody from posting away. Well....maybe one or two people long ago but that was even BEFORE the dues were implemented.

OK....the list of those who have "thanked" somebody are now collapsed. It shows how many times but you have to click the arrow on the right side to see the list of names. Hope that helps.
-
For our Canadian members who are also vets, I now have the awards set up for you also so please let me know if you served.
-
There are quite a few out there with well over 100,000 miles with no major repairs. I've seen a couple with 200,000 and one in Canada several years ago with 400,000.

Yes, they will flex. It has never caused a problem for me but here is a great solution and one that I plan to do this winter. [ame=http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=8054]Crash bar supports - VentureRider.Org[/ame]

Royal Star Venture Differential in my VMax
Freebird replied to Beau-Kat's topic in Poor Man Tips and Fixes
I think you are about dead on with the RPM change. The VMAX rear raised my RPMs about 500 so I would think that the opposite would be true in your case. I really like the change on the RSV.- 12 replies

ipod with gloves - touch vs nano or classic?
Freebird replied to bamico's topic in GPS, Audio, Electronics
Yea, they just don't work very well with gloves. I don't have an answer for you. When I used my IPOD, I just put it on random play or one of my play lists and let it go. I now use my Zumo 550 for MP3 and it works a bit better with gloves. Even still, once I turn it on..I pretty much just let it go. -
There is no chip or anything special. The dealer's are just nuts on the prices. They were probably cut just slightly incorrect or else the blanks were not exactly right. Maybe they are going in too deep? Try them again but pull the out just a bit and see if you can find a position where they will work. Otherwise, as said, they are usually available on Ebay. I know that you can get them from http://www.starparts.org/ Several of us have his stealth keys.
-
No, I don't know of any way to turn it off. If used correctly though, there shouldn't be a LOT of them except on the first post of threads that are really helpful. May be for a few days because it's new and everybody will want to try it. If it gets to be a real problem though, I'll see what I can come up with.

I agree. That being said, I hate those 2 stroke weedeaters, blowers, etc. Over the past few years I've managed to replace everything except my chainsaw with 4 stroke models. I like them MUCH better.
