  1. decided to get a lift for my 2000RSV. thought i would try the new tractor supply and buy the big red 1500lb lift for 119.00. lift seemed ok but noticed the welds on the locking mech were bad and was bent too. I had them order a new one and it came back just as bad. needless to say i returned it and went to sears to look at the craftsman 1500 for the same price. I had them open the box so i could compare before i took it home. The craftsman lift seemed far superior in most ways--foot pedal release, spring loaded locking mech, attacheable T-handle to move were a couple. **best news it was on sale for 99.00. guess now it is time to get a lift adapter or takle making one myslef.
  2. I want to buy a MC jack and both the Larin and the Craftsman motorcycle jacks are on sale. Larin at Pep Boys is $49.00 and the Sears Craftsman is $59.99. Is there one that is better than the other or are they equal? I am leaning towards the Craftsman 1500 lbs jack. COMMENTS ????? Bubber
  3. I just bought the Craftsman lift jack but have never used one. I read the thread and replies on lifting an RSV, using the lift adapter, hockey pucs, 2x4's, etc. Seems pretty simple. I am usually alone when doing anything in the garage so the question I have is what is the best way to hold the bike staight up while getting the jack positioned and lifted? I know another person would be the easiest but not always possible.
  4. so, until i can get around to ordering Carbon1's lift adapter (which i will), has anyone successfully lifted their RSV with a craftsman and (fill in the blank). I just need to check out a noise on the front tire.
  5. Happy Anniversary Mamamo. What happened to the good old days when dinner and a $20 gift was fine? I took her to the mall the other day and said you pick something out? She said how much can I spend? Ahhh $100.00 :whistling:. She was insulted. I even offered to look at the craftsman tools but had no takers. Dinner was $100.00 been 26 years does it get better or just more expensive?I hope you like the Ruby?
