  1. I'm glad you all like them. I was hesitant the first time I did this because I had never tried this brand before. I can honestly say though, it keeps my coffee hotter than any travel mug I've ever owned. OK....I think I am down to 6 now. I have two to ship when I get home tomorrow.
  2. It will be interesting to see how the Autometer gauges work out. I like the look of the gauges but didn't want to give up the three gauge setup. The Equus gauges I ended up going with are very nice also. It just seems that even with two gauges it is going to be a very tight fit even vertically.
  3. I agree with you. My son is 17 and though I've had a number of small bikes around and he has ridden some, he never got excited about it like I did at his age. I got my first bike when I was about 14 and couldn't get enough of it. He's the same way with cars though. I was always doing something to my car whether it was wheels, exhaust, stereos (8 track by the way), whatever. He has no interest as long as it starts and gets him where he needs to go. As for the Star Touring membership decline, I wonder if that is not directly related to the drop in motorcycle sales. I know that a new purchaser of a Star brand motorcycle gets a free one year membership. Like most clubs, the renewal rate is not spectacular. So with less new members coming from new one year free memberships, I would think that would have a definite affect on the number of members. Don't know if I'm right or wrong, just thinking out loud.
  4. I think I found the thread I was thinking of. Check it out for some good info. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=40836&highlight=1156
  5. There was another discussion here somewhere about those bulbs. If nobody else chimes in, I'll try to find it.
  6. Ron, I just sent you a copy of the PayPal email. Unless you did a separate order, it was only one. Don
  7. And here is a picture of them also.
  8. I looked at his profile and assume that he is talking about his RSV. They are different and and a little harder to get to.
  9. No...you are correct. I read it wrong. So...they are down almost 40%. Still not good but better than 60%. But it looks like they are third to Honda and Kawasaki.
  10. I'm not home to look but I'm pretty sure that they are on the back side. So you have to reach through to access them from the opposite side of the bike than the cards you are working on.
  11. Yes, there are drain screws on the bottom of the carb bowls. They are kind of hard to see but they are there.
  12. HA....she replied and it's in the mail. Guess there's no Australian trip available now. There are 7 more mugs folks.
  13. Done. I copied the info to the Fist Gen Tech Library under Engine and Drivetrain.
  14. Not really a big surprise but still not good. Yamaha's production numbers are actually down by 60.8%. http://www.webbikeworld.com/Motorcycle-news/statistics/motorcycle-sales-statistics.htm
  15. I only recently learned of the passing or member Ronald V. Cleveland, Canadianrider here on our site after his long batter with cancer. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the family and friends. I have added Ronald to our memorial page. I used a picture off his personal blog page. I hope that is OK.
  16. Yes, this was posted before but I think it was in the Watering Hole. Thanks for adding it here.
  17. Dennis Kirk shows to have 15 in stock at $124.99 http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/search/search.jsp?x=13&y=4&searchString=MV85HB-15&store=&resultType=subCategories
  18. Very cool. So now we have a celebrity in our midst.
  19. I apologize that the chat room was down last night. There was a problem with the server that the chat is hosted on. They have moved it to a new server and it appears to be working correctly now. The new server has a new DNS address so it is possible that it could be up to 24 hours before everybody can access it. I just tried and got right in but it may depend upon how often your ISP refreshes their DNS servers. Hopefully everybody can get in but if you can't, just give it a little more time and it should be fine.
  20. If it's like the one that I saw demoed at a bike show a few years ago, it is powered. The one I saw had a winch and cable but Thom says the new one doesn't use a cable so it must use some other mechanism. The ramp also went pretty much all the way to the ground. You didn't push the bike up the incline. Don't know if it's the same one or not.
  21. That looks like a fair deal for somebody looking for an auxiliary tank. I checked out their website and that's a good looking tank.
  22. I hate to see you moving so far away but I sure understand your decision. I hope this is the beginning of a bright and exciting new chapter of your lives. You should get used to that Texas heat in about 20 years. You will love the winters though.
  23. I just subscribe to basic weather and traffic. I sometimes get a popup about a storm warning but when I click on it...it says "No alerts found". Is that because I only subscribe to the basic?
  24. Heck...I WANT you under the radar...not really under it but right in it...that way I can get a "lock" on you and then a direct hit.
  25. OH...and there are still 8 available. I do have one set aside for Aussie Annie but she hasn't answered my PM for her address. Has anybody heard from her over the past few days? Hope she's OK.
