  1. I use that security key also. It's a pain sometimes but sure helps to better secure your account. PayPal also helped me once. I have purchased a whole house generator for $2400.00 or so. Turns out that the seller didn't have one. He claimed they were on back order even though the auction said "in stock". Long story short, it was going to be at least 2 months before he could ship. I canceled and requested a refund. He wanted to charge me a very high "re-stocking fee". hmmmm....for a product he didn't HAVE? Anyway, I got PayPal involved and within 24 hours I had a full refund. I would much rather deal with buyers who accept PayPal and I would rather they pay with PayPal when I am selling.
  2. You can buy a battery with the hole in it for the sensor or you can go with a newer technology type battery and use this method to bypass it. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=489
  3. Here you go: http://www.edsets.com or here is a direct link to the adapters: http://www.edsets.com/edsets_adapters
  4. The wire you are talking about is the battery level indicator. It does not measure the voltage, only the acid level in the cell. If you have a red battery warning light, it is telling you that the acid level is low. That battery might charge but if it's only reading 7 volts, it may well be shot. Doesn't hurt to try though.
  5. I guess the old adage is true... Beauty is in the eyes of the beerholder...er...I mean beholder.
  6. For any of you who are worried about the hitch strength, mounting points, etc. There is an alternative. The hitches that most of us here use simple replace the bar between the saddle bags. I think it is more than sufficient for most of us. If you are pulling a heavier trailer though and think that something stronger is needed, there is the HitchDoc hitch. It mounts completely differently and I think is a much stronger design. I think it is overkill for what most of us need and is more difficult to install but maybe a better choice for some with very heavy trailers.
  7. I received the following note from one of our members regarding the Carbon_One lift adapter. Just a little heads up for those of you who might run into a problem with it. The lift adapter is almost a must have item for our bikes but this may be one case where you won't use it. "Today I installed leveling links and ran into trouble by using the Carbon One adapter. With the adapter I was unable to get one of the bolts out of the way. I had to lower the bike - remove the adapter, jack it up again, and then it was easy."
  8. I got an email from him right before he left. He said that his internet provider would be changing and that his old email would be no good. He'll get the new one setup ASAP. I hope all is going well for them.
  9. Here is a tech article that might help. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=492
  10. That looks good....but I like even MORE subtle. Here are a couple of examples of what I would like.
  11. I agree guys, I'm talking about the real ghost flames. The ones that you almost have to look twice to see if they are really there.
  12. Well...I guess I'm one of the few but I LOVE ghost flames and hope to have some one of these days. Every time I get a quote though, it comes in around $2,000.00 and I don't want them THAT bad.
  13. Well first of all, it's not a big deal. You don't have to pull the carbs to shim these needles. Just pull the side covers off and you can get to them. Secondly, I really don't think that shimming the needles is such a big deal. It is supposed to give a bit quicker throttle response and I think it does but nothing major.
  14. Yes, here is the thread though. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=46931&highlight=comfort Glad you are going to make it.
  15. WOW...it's been a LONG time since I've done this. If I remember correctly, you will remove the c-clip. I think there are two washers under it. Then remove one of them and slide it up the other end. How about it folks? Don't let me tell him wrong. Am I remembering this correctly?
  16. Folks, I think it is a great idea and would even load it into my own unit but I just don't have the time to put it all together. If somebody wants to take the project and run with it, I'm all for it. If not, I promise I will put it on my "to do" list but it will likely be a while until I get to it.
  17. I think that the best person to answer this question would be our very own Eddie (The Shiny One) I have no idea how much he has spent but the custom ghost flame paint job, the chromed rims, etc. had to all add up. It sure turned out nice.
  18. Very nice. That's some fine looking old technology.
  19. I agree. If you already have them all off, may as well clean them all. I'm sorry but I have never used the Delco cleaner so can't answer your question about it.
  20. I read this review this morning and it sounds really good. I have no intention of going to Bluetooth but if I was going to, I would certainly give these a closer look. http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-intercoms/sena-smh10-intercom/sena-smh10-part-2.htm
  21. Yep...Diamond R is where to go. GREAT folks to deal with. http://www.diamondraccessories.com
  22. I've got a Sirius Stratus that I'm going to give away at maintenance day. You gotta be present to win though so saddle up boys. Coffee will be on.
  23. Yea, there are better tires but the 404 isn't bad. Won't last quiet as long as the more expensive ones but I had no complaints with the performance. It is, in my opinion, probably the best in that price range.
  24. I have one the same place. I just replaced it this past weekend. It was about 4 years old and corrosion finally got it. Not bad though. About $7.00 for 4 years service.
  25. You should be able to just click on the drop down box and choose 1 year. It will add it to your current expiration date.
