  1. I actually installed a Cobra portable like that on my Harley FXRD when I had it. I just put it in the trunk. I just set it on the agreed upon channel before leaving and it worked fine. It wasn't the best solution but I was able to communicate with the other riders.
  2. I have a Walmart battery on my RSV right now but unfortunately, I am out of town so can't go out and see what the number is on it. I think they had a book there though and I just looked it up. I'm not a huge fan of Walmart batteries but when my old one quit, I was in a situation where I needed one quickly. Actually, it was during Maintenance Day and I wanted to ride. It's been on there almost 2 years now and has been OK so far. Still, if I were to replace it, I would go with another Odessey or the Deka that Earl sells.
  3. Well...it says computer help AND tips for using this website. Maybe not name perfectly but as you said, I think it's close enough.
  4. I heard a LOT of chirping in that first video. Honestly, I like the fact that they are following their dream and I know that there are a lot of folks who will like that style but it's just not for me. I still like the cruiser styling of the RSV.
  5. LOL...yep...that's me.
  6. We've already got a computer forum. It's near the bottom. I should have posted this thread there. Didn't expect it to get so many responses. I'll move it.
  7. Yes. Actually, they are not pickguard mounted like on the Classic but they are easy to change out. Not as versatile but easy to do. No soldering. They use a Molex connection so just plug in. The top is routed and etc. as on other electrics. Great sustain and fantastic necks though. I am really enjoying this one.
  8. I'm not sure why either. I just edited your post and it seems to work now. I simply went to that page and copied the link again. Looks the same as yours did though.
  9. hmmm.......I can't be sure.
  10. what you talkin' about Willis?
  11. Yea...at LEAST. Actually, it was probably about 12-13 years ago.
  12. HEY...I've been to Luckenbach a few times and even have PROOF.
  13. OK...but remember...you Didn't say how much you want to spend. http://www.sierra-mc.com/products.asp?cat=371
  14. Worse I think. The first thing I told me son was that I was going to burn it if he becomes obnoxious.
  15. Mobile 1 Racing 4T. I've used it in my RSV since 1999. I agree that more use the Rotella but I think it is simply because it is cheaper. It may be fine but Mobil 1 has proven itself to me for many years in my cars, bikes, etc.
  16. No, I actually will not look at the forum runner app. Like I said, this is my son's toy and though I will take a look at it, I won't mess with it much at all. I'm sure that he will appreciate your tips though and I'll make sure he gets them. He told me that it is a base model. WIFI only, no 3G. I already have wireless in the house though and he uses it already with him laptop, his droid and his IPOD.
  17. I ran Michelin Commanders and was pleased with them. I heard a lot of good things about the Venoms so decided to give them a try. They are on my bike now but I am seeing the cracked sidewalls. I will be replacing them soon. I hear that Michelin is coming out with a Commander II.....but not likely before I have to replace the Avons. I will NOT be installing another set of Avons at this point so that pretty much leaves me with the E3s. I will give them a try this time.
  18. I don't think it's universal. I've used my cruise many times in 5th gear at 50 - 55 MPH. Something is not right. I have the VMAX rear now but even before then, I never had a problem getting the cruise to set and stay set at lower speeds. Now granted, if I was running in 5th at low speeds and approached a good sized hill or something it might decrease enough in speed to shut it off but that was a rare occurrence.
  19. To be fair to the dealer, I can see where they could have spend 1 1/2 hours trying to figure out what was causing it so what they charged you was probably not really unfair. I just think that they came up with the wrong cause and it should have been warranty.
  20. No, it's not a joke. It's supposed to ship on the 1st and arrive on the 6th. It was not some online contest. He was at a fund raising raffle/dinner with his grandmother. I figure if nothing else, we can use it for a paper weight.
  21. It's a dark day here at the Nelson household. My son Dylan won an Apple IPad II in a raffle. He doesn't have it yet, they are shipping it to him and he is supposed to have it by April 1st. I told him he could keep it but it can't leave his room.
  22. In the blue bar just at the top of your post there is a drop down menu that says "Thread Tools". Click on that and you'll see Subscribe to thread. Then later you go to your UserCP to find your subscribed threads. Good luck with your project.
  23. There are probably people here with tape decks. If not, Pinwall on Ebay has several at pretty cheap prices. Many of us have removed ours and installed gauges where they were.
  24. You are a good person and I know that you are right....it sure is hard to do though isn't it?
  25. Well...I should have just stretched my wife's feet. Glad they found a good home.
