It is a cable made by our member BuddyRich that works with the Garmin Zumo and allows you to use your headset to talk on the phone when it is connected via Bluetooth to the Garmin.
-
It does not interfere with the GPS at all. It only cuts out the mic, nothing to do with the sound. It also works fine with the BuddyRich cable. I have both on my '99 and a Garmin Zumo.
-
Yep, Mike does a fantastic job on them. You will not be disappointed.

HEY...it's not that I enjoy doing it. Most of the time it is security updates and etc. Actually there is a entire new version of the software out but I've heard some horror stories about it and just don't think I want to install it here. Besides, most of the customizations that I have done here would no longer work and would have to be completely redone because the new version is a total remake. I've pretty much just decided to stay where we are.
-
That is pretty much the truth. AND....I'm often successful in breaking it again.
-
Thanks...yep...I always forget about that. It is gone now.

Anyone have a HitchDoc hitch?
Freebird replied to GolfVenture's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
They make a great product. I actually think that their RSV hitch is overbuilt. That's not a bad thing but it just makes it more difficult to install. I think their first gen hitch is a very good product.- 5 replies

I can't answer the question on the PGR side but of course we don't have any requirements our how our patch is worn.
-
OK folks...I just upgraded our forum software while you were taking your breaks. Let me know if you see anything missing or not functioning correctly. Thanks
-
Yea Yea Yea....I fixed it for you. That's all I've got to do....just follow you around and correct your mistakes. I figured that fancy smancy Ipad would have a spell check.

I'll post to...just so you two won't feel lonely.

Intercom interference
Freebird replied to terrysears's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Yes, often just slightly moving the intercom wire will take care of that issue. It runs just under the left side of the gas tank and close to the plug wire on that side. I could actually just reach under there and slightly pull it to the side and the noise went away. -
I agree. If the vibration started after you did the sync, it sure sounds like you did something wrong.

I honestly think that the wider shield makes more difference that the higher one. I can't confirm that though because I went taller and wider long ago.

StarFan/Jonas needs help - Greetings from Iceland
Freebird replied to StarFan's topic in Watering Hole
LOL....now that hurts. Now I'm going to have to take off work so that I can keep my eye on you. Although, I'm thinking that Greta will be keeping her eyes on you too. By the way, you know that I would be happy to store the bike for you if you need me to. Heck...I could just sell mine since I would have yours here to ride. -
The main reason for this thread is for us to try and determine how much ice cream will be needed. 10 gallons, 15, 20? Please do not consider Big Tom in your calculations...we just can't afford that much ice cream. He will just have to be monitored.

StarFan/Jonas needs help - Greetings from Iceland
Freebird replied to StarFan's topic in Watering Hole
Jonas, I am sorry that you will not be here for Maintenance Day but of course, I already knew that. It goes without saying though that there is a room waiting at our home for you whenever you get through here. We look forward to seeing you again and meeting your wife. For any of you that may be on their route, you will find Jonas to be a very good house guest. He is pretty much potty trained and everything. Don -
As for Hopnel, they sold out a few years ago and I think discontinued the bibs for the RSV. Don't know why. I want to make some bibs for the top of my saddlebags that match my Hopnel tank and trunk bibs. I ordered some vinyl last week that I HOPE is a close match. If it is, then I just have to find the smooth vinyl and braid trim to do the edges.

Freebird replied to Crash's topic in Inspirational, Motivational, Prayer Requests, Etc.
Really sorry to hear the bad news Randy. You have both been through way too much over the past few years. We will be praying for a successful outcome and please let Marcie know that we care. -
Comparing the Strato/Roadliner AND a Vulcan 2000
Freebird replied to BigBoyinMS's topic in General Tech Talk
Just to clarify that before somebody asks. The ceramic coating has been used on the RoadStar ever since they came out. I didn't know for sure about the Stratoliner but they the RSV does not have the ceramic coated cylinders to my knowledge. -
Center Punch on frame
Freebird replied to Reddog170's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I may very well be wrong but I think that the other punch mark, the one that you might find near the serial number on the engine case, designated that the stator oil cooling modification had been done. -
Yea...maybe...but I'll listen to anybody who is wearing a tight fitting mini skirt. Listen...smile...nod...look....

Dang it Owl...I KNOW that you know better. Do you think that even mentioning XXXXX name is not going to sent this to the political dungeon?

Looking for better handleing
Freebird replied to a topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
If you are wanting a 6th gear already, stay away from the VMAX rear. I have it on my '99 and love it but I NEVER wanted a higher gear than what it already has. The VMAX rear is going to raise your RPMS by about 500 through the entire range.
