  1. That is a great explanation Lewis. I will also add that the situation is similar for other rallies. A lot of the prizes that are given away are donated by our generous vendors. Though the trailers are not donated, we do generally get a nice discount on it. This enables us to raffle it off and then add any profits to various funds such as the flower funds, out of pocket expense funds for the future International Rally, etc. Giving cash as the prize would not work well in these instances.
  2. This is good news. I would hate it if this site didn't work with IE9. Not sure what I would do to address it.
  3. Did you try this site? I hope it's compatible because I have no plans at this point to make any changes here to make it so. I think that Microsoft screwed up this time. IE9 will only work on Windows 7. I am not running Windows 7 and have no plans to in the near future. XP works great for me. The new versions of Firefox and Google Chrome support Windows 7 but also XP and Vista. I am now running Firefox 4 and am pleased with it so am certainly not going to upgrade my operating system just so I can run IE9. So, hopefully this site will work with IE9 but if it doesn't, I will just have to recommend that folks who insist on using IE9 also keep a copy of Firefox or Google Chrome handy for coming here.
  4. Unless I missed it, you didn't say which model the Tom Tom is. I would think that most any of them would be worth the $30.00. That being said, the no external speaker output on their motorcycle units was the killer for me. My wife bought me a Rider II a few years ago for Christmas. When I noticed that it didn't have the speaker output, I returned it and ended up buying a Garmin. With the external speaker output you can plug it right into the aux jack on the RSV and hear everything through the speakers. The Rider II would only work with Bluetooth. Some here have Bluetooth headsets and really like them but I have no desire at ALL to change over to Bluetooth. Just something else that I have to worry about charging.

    Really ?

Yea, there was a glitch long ago that caused that. I THINK they were all people with "0" posts but don't remember for sure.
  6. Folks, it's time for this thread to be locked. When it degenerates to the point that it has become members sniping at each other, then that is when it has gone far enough. I think that people have made their positions heard on this issue and don't see what else could be added. The information has been put out here. You all have the right to choose how you wish to use it.
  7. LOL.......we've all been guilty of that.
  8. Redneck got it exactly right. It is correct though that it will still show up on the home page if you are one that starts there. You do NOT have to click on it though.
  9. I have that Corbin backrest on my '99 and my wife really likes it. No, it is not the same as true armrests but she can lean back and rest her elbows on it. I agree that trying one would be best but I really like ours and so does Eileen.
  10. No, it is not possible for it to show unread if they have opened and read it. The only may it may look that way is if they read it via the email notification and then sent you an email or PM by itself and not actually opened and replied to the original. Confirmed just means that they opened it. It does not indicate that they replied.
  11. I don't think I've ever seen a "chalk one up" smilie...I'll have to look around. As for changing the line under your signature, are you hitting the save button after you change it? I think it's a save button...it's been a while since I tried. Anyway....nice pictures. Looks like a great time. I've ridden most of those areas and they are hard to beat.
  12. It is a cable made by our member BuddyRich that works with the Garmin Zumo and allows you to use your headset to talk on the phone when it is connected via Bluetooth to the Garmin.
  13. It does not interfere with the GPS at all. It only cuts out the mic, nothing to do with the sound. It also works fine with the BuddyRich cable. I have both on my '99 and a Garmin Zumo.
  14. Yep, Mike does a fantastic job on them. You will not be disappointed.
  15. HEY...it's not that I enjoy doing it. Most of the time it is security updates and etc. Actually there is a entire new version of the software out but I've heard some horror stories about it and just don't think I want to install it here. Besides, most of the customizations that I have done here would no longer work and would have to be completely redone because the new version is a total remake. I've pretty much just decided to stay where we are.
  16. That is pretty much the truth. AND....I'm often successful in breaking it again.
  17. Thanks...yep...I always forget about that. It is gone now.
  18. Congrats Dan...those are nice cars and I think you will love the Sirius. It should last you a long time.
  19. They make a great product. I actually think that their RSV hitch is overbuilt. That's not a bad thing but it just makes it more difficult to install. I think their first gen hitch is a very good product.
  20. I can't answer the question on the PGR side but of course we don't have any requirements our how our patch is worn.
  21. OK folks...I just upgraded our forum software while you were taking your breaks. Let me know if you see anything missing or not functioning correctly. Thanks

Yea Yea Yea....I fixed it for you. That's all I've got to do....just follow you around and correct your mistakes. I figured that fancy smancy Ipad would have a spell check.
  23. I'll post to...just so you two won't feel lonely.
  24. Yes, often just slightly moving the intercom wire will take care of that issue. It runs just under the left side of the gas tank and close to the plug wire on that side. I could actually just reach under there and slightly pull it to the side and the noise went away.
  25. I agree. If the vibration started after you did the sync, it sure sounds like you did something wrong.
