  1. OK...I just did an in depth study and found that the Canadians have had threads deleted at a rate of 4 to 1 over Americans. BUT...if you take Swifty out of the equation, it is pretty equal. Not really, I'm not going to all that trouble. To be honest, if you look at the total number of threads that have been posted here, the number that have been deleted is almost negligible. We are fortunate to have a great group of members here that are very good at self moderation.
  2. LOL...in my DREAMS. Yamaha USA doesn't even talk to me. Now Yamaha Canada has supported us by showing up at our rally there with shirts, caps, etc. They were great to us.
  3. Yea, I remember those days. Heck chili may be the Owl's specialty but I know that COUNTING is NOT.
  4. LOL...I've purposely left her name and location out because it would be too easy for some of the jokesters here have too much fun with it.
  5. LOL...so what you are really saying is that some things haven't changed at all.
  6. Is it the same model? I've heard some great things about some of the Bridgestone tires, just not the model that came on the RSV.
  7. Well, I hated the Bridgestone also. I found them to break loose VERY easily on some road surfaces when wet. I also found that they cupped very quickly and then became very noisy.
  8. They were too late. I bought it a few minutes ago. I sent a money order to an escrow company somewhere in Zimbabwe. The bike is being shipped to me from where it was stored in a top secret warehouse at Area 52. If I don't like it, he is going to pay for return shipping also and refund all my money plus $500.00 for my trouble.
  9. Yes, I've done it a few times and I agree that it has to be a certain road surface. I also know that it is very true that they will pull the front wheel off the ground.
  10. WOW...I would be really frustrated by now. My son has had a Droid 2 for probably 6 - 8 months and has never had any problems at all with it. I was actually thinking about getting one until my company decided that we all had to carry a Blackberry.
  11. Unfortunately, he can't post them to the classifies because he never became a supporting member. I know that he does a good job on the spacers though. Now, I'm not trying to change anybody's mind about these but just stating another side of the issue for those who are on the fence about the spacer. Some people, me being one of them, do not like it. I personally don't like the look as well when the lights are spaced out but even more importantly, I think that it increases the risk of breaking the brackets that hold the lower wind deflectors. The rubber bumpers on the deflectors should touch the fork tube covers. That stabilizes the deflectors so that the vibration caused by wind does not cause them to break so easily. A lot of those brackets do break eventually and I think that spacing them out so that the rubber bumper does not make contact makes the problem worse. Just my opinion and the other side of the story.
  12. Yea, there are a few people...maybe just one I'm not sure...who are sitting like vultures just waiting on something like that to jump on.
  13. Yea, I thought about you and that is why I deleted it so quickly.
  14. No, I have been out of them for a while. Sorry. If there is enough interest in them and Shaun wants to have some made up, that is fine with me. I don't know where you want to put one but the domed would look great on a car too.
  15. Oh...and syncing the carbs is very simple. If I were closer, I would offer to do it for you. It only takes about 10 minutes.
  16. Yes, I would be VERY surprised if the diaphragms are bad. They typically last for many years. We have folks here riding Ventures from the 80's who are just now changing them for the first time. If you truly suspect that you have a bad one, it is very simple to pull them out and check them. You don't even have to remove the carbs from the bike.
  17. Rick, It could very well need the carbs synched. That is exactly how it will feel if they need it. There are a number of other possibilities. A bad coil causing it to run on only 3 cylinders. It will run amazingly smooth on three cylinders but you could get that vibration and poor gas mileage. Also...I'm sure this is probably not the case but are you SURE you aren't shifting too soon? These bikes to like to run at higher RPMS than a twin and if you shift too soon and run at too low RPM they can vibrate like that and since you are essentially lugging the engines, it can hurt your gas mileage too. Like I said, I doubt this is the case for you because you have owned it a while and your mileage WAS better until recently. So unless you've changed the way you ride it, this should not be the problem.
  18. LOL....yea...but the thing is...it doesn't matter what the first two said....Charlie's response would have been the same.
  19. That really is cool. Not something I could watch for hours but sure worth checking out from time to time.
  20. I just put them in the box with the others.
  21. I promise you that NONE of that was made up. It truly happened as told.
  22. You are welcome to have one made for your bike. I'm not too picky about that sort of thing unless people are marketing our logo for a profit. I do have some available however. The current ones are domed and very nice but we have had flat ones in the past, just don't have any right now. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=39088
  23. It's easy...you do exactly what you just said but you don't actually own the product that you are trying to sell. If you respond to the ad in question, you will get a response that "YES...I still have the bike. I am serving in the Army and am presently stationed in Germany. The bike is stored and if you want it, we can use an escrow service. You send the money and blah blah blah." The escrow service is ALWAYS bogus. They get your money, you get nothing. It's amazing that people still fall for these scams but the fact that there are so many of them out there tells me that some people still do.
  24. Anybody who is curious, all you have to do is go to your own profile or any other member's profile. While you are viewing their profile, the address bar of your browser will show your membership number at the very end. For example, this is the link to my profile. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/member.php?u=1 The 1 is my member number.
  25. Or...you could spend a LOT of money for this one. It's the only one I've seen. It prints and scans but is not a flatbed. http://www.pcmall.com/p/Possio-Printers/product~dpno~7707372~pdp.fbjiced?src=search Other than the price, I would be concerned with the availability of ink cartridges because I don't see this brand sold at many places.
