Yes, and I think I was premature with my offer. Mine is from a RSV. Don't know what would be required to install it on a first gen. Maybe just a blank to close of the hole for the speed sensor but I'm not sure.

OK...I give up. Those are NOT real words. I tried several translators and many different languages and it just doesn't translate. You are a mean person making up words. I haven't given up though.

This was sent to me by another member here and I just had to share it with all of you. It speaks for itself. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vksdBSVAM6g&feature=player_embedded]YouTube - TC Bank- Dream Rangers[/ame]

I have a spare final drive if you want to try it. I don't want to sell it so you may not want to bother with it because I would want it back. If you want to take the time to install mine and then remove it and send it back after your testing, I will sure send it to you. I'll pay shipping to you and you can pay to ship it back. I'm out of town though so it will be Saturday before I could get it in the mail.

Redhead .... yea....put the boots on the redhead...then.....hold on...I have to turn up the AC.

Guys, I agree that the rotor needs to be changed but he said that now it doesn't even turn over. That doesn't seem right does it? It should still turn over unless I'm misunderstanding something.

HA...that is nothing. You should see the honey do list that Eileen has for me that apparently has to be done before Maintenance Day.

I've never used the Baker Built on a RSV. They were a very popular item for the first gen Venture and a lot of folks had them. I think that they are probably more functional than the ones that Yamaha offers but, in my opinion, they don't look nearly as good.

Soon....very soon. Garage is FINALLY warming up. Maybe I'll get to it next weekend.

That is true and is indeed an advantage. I wonder though how many people don't know that they can subscribe to one or more categories in the classifies as they are now and get email notifications to new items posted for sale or wanted.

Since the early days of this site, there have been folks here who have expressed the opinion that they do not like our classified area. Some have stated that they would rather have the classifieds as part of the forum and not a separate page. This poll is to allow you all to vote on this issue. Before doing so though, I would like to point out a few things that we will be giving up should we move the classifies to the forum. 1. There will be no way to hold "auctions" as are sometimes used now for St. Judes and occasionally for other reasons. 2. In order to keep it manageable, the ads in the forum will be set to expire after a pre-determined time. I'm thinking 30 days but it is open for discussion. It could be 60 or 90 days but I want to keep it to a relatively short amount of time. 3. There will be no way to "renew" an ad. The only way to renew an add will be to completely re-do the ad once it expires and is automatically deleted. 4. There will be no way to include a "buy now" feature. 5. There will be no "distance" estimate. Though it is sometimes WAY off anyway. There are probably some other things also but basically, the area will work exactly like any other area of the forum does at this time. So, please think about what you think would work the best and we'll go from there. As always, your comments are welcome.

Yes, that's where I misunderstood also. Sorry about that.

WOW....fantastic. Some great guitar playing. When I see people play like that, it just reminds me of how bad I truly am. Love the boots too....very HOT. On another subject, did anybody see Elizabeth Cook sing the national anthem at the opening Braves game? She did a great job. Just sang it as it is written without destroying it by trying to be fancy. Country stars just seem to get it.

Cruise Control Not Working
Freebird replied to IdahoRon's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
The speed sensor is on the rear end. It is plugged into a machined hole with one screw that secures it. You can't miss it, it's the only thing on the rear end with a black cable going into it. -
That's why I love my Garmin with the XM and MP3. I just leave the Venture radio on auxiliary and all I need to use is the volume control.

yea...but still a good point Chris. I know I wrote that I get NO wind and I knew when I wrote it that it wasn't correct. I still get plenty of wind but not the buffeting that many find objectionable.

I agree...first make sure that all the wind deflectors that should be there are still there. Next, WHERE are you feeling the wind? If it's to the torso and/or face, then the wings are not the answer. There are several aftermarket windshields available to help in that regard. F4 gives us a discount of their great shield. It is available in several heights but even more importantly, it is 4" wider. Clearview Shields also makes a nice and wider shield for our bikes. If you are getting wind in other places, it will depend upon where it is coming from. BuddyRich makes some great deflectors if you are getting wind on your knees. Yamaha makes a set of nice lower deflectors that connect to the crash bars. Baker also makes a set but I don't think theirs look as good as the ones from Yamaha. They may work better though, I don't know as I've never used them. I do know that they seem expensive to me. http://www.bakerbuilt.com/bbairwings/page48aa.html Personally, I have the wider/taller shield, the Yamaha lower deflectors and the BuddyRich knee blockers. I get very little wind if any at all.

Trunk Rack
Freebird replied to frmarksiegelhotmail.com's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I've seen several reports here about people installing the JC Whitney racks and I've also seen several reports where they started rushing really quickly. I wouldn't recommend it. Remember, once you drill the holes for that JC Whitney rack and then it is rusty a year later and you decide you want to install the Yamaha rack, those existing holes are going to be in the wrong place. I understand anybody wanting to save some money but I personally would hold off and not install one at all until I had the funds to install a good one. This is one item that I think it is better to do without than to go cheap.- 27 replies
