  1. Since the early days of this site, there have been folks here who have expressed the opinion that they do not like our classified area. Some have stated that they would rather have the classifieds as part of the forum and not a separate page. This poll is to allow you all to vote on this issue. Before doing so though, I would like to point out a few things that we will be giving up should we move the classifies to the forum. 1. There will be no way to hold "auctions" as are sometimes used now for St. Judes and occasionally for other reasons. 2. In order to keep it manageable, the ads in the forum will be set to expire after a pre-determined time. I'm thinking 30 days but it is open for discussion. It could be 60 or 90 days but I want to keep it to a relatively short amount of time. 3. There will be no way to "renew" an ad. The only way to renew an add will be to completely re-do the ad once it expires and is automatically deleted. 4. There will be no way to include a "buy now" feature. 5. There will be no "distance" estimate. Though it is sometimes WAY off anyway. There are probably some other things also but basically, the area will work exactly like any other area of the forum does at this time. So, please think about what you think would work the best and we'll go from there. As always, your comments are welcome.
  2. Fyrirgefðu, ég tala ekki ensku.
  3. Oh yea.....but shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.......she doesn't know she's a dog now. Totally spoiled.
  4. Yes, that's where I misunderstood also. Sorry about that.
  5. WOW....fantastic. Some great guitar playing. When I see people play like that, it just reminds me of how bad I truly am. Love the boots too....very HOT. On another subject, did anybody see Elizabeth Cook sing the national anthem at the opening Braves game? She did a great job. Just sang it as it is written without destroying it by trying to be fancy. Country stars just seem to get it.
  6. Hey....Texan is my native language.
  7. The speed sensor is on the rear end. It is plugged into a machined hole with one screw that secures it. You can't miss it, it's the only thing on the rear end with a black cable going into it.
  8. That's why I love my Garmin with the XM and MP3. I just leave the Venture radio on auxiliary and all I need to use is the volume control.
  9. yea...but still a good point Chris. I know I wrote that I get NO wind and I knew when I wrote it that it wasn't correct. I still get plenty of wind but not the buffeting that many find objectionable.
  10. I agree...first make sure that all the wind deflectors that should be there are still there. Next, WHERE are you feeling the wind? If it's to the torso and/or face, then the wings are not the answer. There are several aftermarket windshields available to help in that regard. F4 gives us a discount of their great shield. It is available in several heights but even more importantly, it is 4" wider. Clearview Shields also makes a nice and wider shield for our bikes. If you are getting wind in other places, it will depend upon where it is coming from. BuddyRich makes some great deflectors if you are getting wind on your knees. Yamaha makes a set of nice lower deflectors that connect to the crash bars. Baker also makes a set but I don't think theirs look as good as the ones from Yamaha. They may work better though, I don't know as I've never used them. I do know that they seem expensive to me. http://www.bakerbuilt.com/bbairwings/page48aa.html Personally, I have the wider/taller shield, the Yamaha lower deflectors and the BuddyRich knee blockers. I get very little wind if any at all.
  11. I've seen several reports here about people installing the JC Whitney racks and I've also seen several reports where they started rushing really quickly. I wouldn't recommend it. Remember, once you drill the holes for that JC Whitney rack and then it is rusty a year later and you decide you want to install the Yamaha rack, those existing holes are going to be in the wrong place. I understand anybody wanting to save some money but I personally would hold off and not install one at all until I had the funds to install a good one. This is one item that I think it is better to do without than to go cheap.

    GPS

That's correct. If it has a speaker out jack, all you need is a common 1/8" to 1/8" stereo patch cord. Most electronics stores would have them.
  13. OK...you lost me there. Why does it not allow you to take your hand off?
  14. I do agree with going to Sierra. They are cheaper than buying direct from J&M and are a fantastic company to deal with .
  15. Sleeperhawk, I've seen you mention a couple of times about not being able to hear with the Edsets. I don't doubt what you are saying but I am absolutely SURE that there was some kind of problem with your installation or something. I've had cheap J&Ms, expensive J&Ms and expensive AirRider headsets and none of them were as good, as as good bass, or as loud as the Edsets. You may have had everything installed perfectly but there was a problem of one kind or another. The Edsets are a very thin speaker. When I first got mine, I installed them in a helmet that had the foam cut out for the thick AirRider headsets. I stuck them deep into the hole that was made for the AirRiders and they didn't sound very well. I pulled them out and filled those old holes and jut put the Edset speakers right behind the helmet lining and properly center over my ears and they sound fantastic. They actually don't even need to be behind the lining. They are so thin that I have even used them on the outside of the lining and they are still very comfortable. I'm not trying to change your mind but for the sake of sharing information to those who are looking at headsets, they need to hear both opinions. I respect your opinion a great deal but mine differs on this issue. The Edsets are the best that I've ever used. Sorry they didn't work out for you. Did you sell yours? If not, l would sure like to get my hands on them and do some testing.
  16. Are you talking about the cable that allows you to use your cellphone through your headsets? That's the only thing that I know of and BuddyRich makes it.
  17. Yes, it will surely get deleted. For years now we have stated over and over and over....NOT POLITICS...NO POLITICS...NO POLITICS.....but here we are again.
  18. Same here...never even heard of anything like that. Sounds interesting though. Of course, you have to remember that the paints are different now days. I would be a little concerned about any powder type product scratching a clear coat paint job. Maybe not but just something to consider.
  19. I love it Bill. I never owned one but I always wanted to. That looks just beautiful.
  20. It does show in the factory service manual how to adjust it and what the free play should be.
  21. Bar weight most of the time for me too. That's one reason that I absolutely made sure to install them when I changed to the Flanders bars.
  22. I have to agree with Eck...there is something else going on. I have the K&Ns on my '99 and I like them because they can be cleaned and re-used but I've gone back and forth once or twice between the K&Ns and the stock filters when I was researching a gas mileage issue and I can tell you that I picked up no noticeable power increase with the K&Ns.
  23. uh....TOO MUCH INFORMATION.
  24. Here is a link to the CB installation manual. It will probably answer a lot of your questions. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=47845
  25. Sorry to hear it but don't let it discourage you. It takes a little while to get used to the throttle and clutch. Too bad you don't have a small bike to practice on around the yard for a little while.
