  1. I would guess that price pays a big part in it. Plus maybe mounting. It would take more than just the fairing.
  2. Yes, Carl's is the week before. It is almost always the week before.
  3. MD is typically the week after MarCarl's meet so that is normal. Sorry, June 6th is out. I have a tradeshow in Indianapolis that weekend. Folks, it never works for everybody as much as I would like for it to. So....May 30th it is. Hope that MANY of you can make it.
  4. Oh cry me a river. It was a questionable call but Dallas outplayed them. Moving right along. Go Cowboys.
  5. I DO need to confirm that date with Eileen later today to make sure there are no conflicts. Will let you know for sure a bit later today.
  6. OK...how about May 30th? That is probably the best date and consistent with the past.
  7. LOL....OK....I'm slow but it's cold here and my brain is frozen.
  8. Just saw that Web Bike World had picked this as one of their products of the year. I've never even heard of it but I know there was a recent discussion here about the best action cameras. At a list price of $399.00, it had better be very good. Sena Prism Review - webBikeWorld
  9. I still honestly don't know what this is about. I have made no changes and don't see him listed as a mod or admin. Not that he would be a bad one, just haven't made any changes.
  10. What are you talking about?
  11. No, that's pretty much what would be called the home page. If you just come to venturerider.org, that is the landing page.
  12. Taking the bags off is so easy and quick that there is not reason not to. Just makes it easier. Also, the axle bolt torques to 110 ft.lbs. Hard to get a torque wrench on it without removing the bag and the muffler. Doesn't take long and just makes the entire job easier.
  13. They are right. Just use the spacers and they are perfect and work GREAT. I too had to go to the store and get material for spacers. Don't know why Sonic hasn't gotten that right but they springs are GREAT. Much better than Progressive for these bikes.
  14. Here is a post done by Rick Butler and he has done several of these. My and V7Goose did mine but I can't find my notes about it. The plastic tubing that Sonic supplied was grey shedule 50 PVC and is what just about everyone uses for preload spacers. If they only supplied one piece, it probably wasn't enough for both forks. You can go to Lowes or Home Depot and get some more, where it you really need longer spacers. Or I'm sure Rich will send you a couple of pieces if you need him to. Once you have set your fluid level (120-130mm from top) with the springs out and forks completely collapsed, you can extend the forks to where they stop and put the springs back in to measure the preload spacers. Measure the distance from the top of the springs to the top of the forks. Before you do this go ahead and drop 2 washers on top of the springs. This will allow for this thickness where you can take one out which will go on top of the spacer before you screw the cap in. At a minimum the spacer should come to the top of the fork tube. That way it will compress the springs by the thickness of the fork cap which is about 26mm. Sometimes I go a couple of mm more to get some extra preload for a heavy rider.
  15. It makes sense that you would. Almost everybody will. When I ran the tool to recalculate posts, it can only calculate posts that are on the forum now. I prune the forums from time to time. Especially areas like the watering hole so that posts older than "X" number of years are deleted. That is why it is important that people post technical information in the proper forums. Posts in the Watering Hole, Jokes, other such areas will be pruned at some point. Some good posts could end up getting deleted due to being posted in the wrong forum. I'm simply not going to take the time to go through thousands of posts in the watering hole to figure out which ones should be saved. It is simply done by date.
  16. I just reset them all. It may not be 100% accurate because once you reset them, it just looks at current posts. Any that have been removed, pruned over the years and etc. would be removed. It should be close to what you actually have now though. At any rate, it'a about the best I could do. It is what it is.
  17. I have no idea what caused that. You have 116 posts. I reset it. I wonder how many others are screwed up now. Doesn't really matter though.
  18. Yesterday when we got up it was about 10 below zero here. It is warmer today...actually zero right now and is supposed to climb to a balmy 12 degrees F today. Actually staying fairly warm on the sleds but took the time yesterday to drive into Hayward and picked up a couple of facemasks. Also picked up a couple of very nice RibEyes. It's a tough life here but somebody has to do it.
  19. I did a complete step by step on resizing pictures here: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/venturerider-site-video-tutorials/92599-resizing-pictures.html
  20. I've never seen a second gen start leaking because of synthetic oil. I agree that it was probably a bit overfilled still. As for the smoking, how cold is it there? Are you sure it's not just condensation in the exhaust that is heating up and steaming? That is pretty common. Did you let it run a while to see if it would stop?
  21. At the bottom of a post on the right side the icons are from left to right, Edit Post, Reply, Reply with Quote and then the symbol for "Multi Quote". Just click on the Multi Quote icon for each post you want to include and then click "reply to thread" at the bottom of the last post of the thread.
  22. We're having a good time. The company resort is about 300 acres I think. The cabins look are on the shore of Round Lake. Would love to take the sleds across the lake and I've seen a sled or two out there but company rules say that we can't take their sleds on the lake so we have to stick to the land. Lot's of great trails here though and lots of deer to look at. There are 6 cabins on the lake and two more up by the lodge. Nice lodge with pool table, foosball, ping pong, large fireplace and a big hot tub. There are about 14 to 16 sleds for us to choose from. The thing is, we are the ONLY ones here so we have the place to ourself for now. Don't know if others will be coming in over the next few days or not but we are loving it. Plenty of snow but it is not fresh and it pretty hard packed. Still fun but you gotta watch those turns. The best thing is that this is a company resort and sort of an employee benefit so it's all free. I like that.
  23. Some people love the Dyson. I'm not a huge fan and I've tried a couple as my brother in law owned a vacuum shop and sold them until he shut it down a few years ago. I did buy a new vacuum last year though and love it. Had never heard of it before but it's a Miele. I found it while searching for truly hypoallergenic vacuums. Not cheap but really does a great job.
  24. Today Eileen and I celebrate 19 wonderful years as husband and wife. Some years have been better than others but all have been better than they would have been without her by my side. I'm hoping for at LEAST 19 more.
  25. I completely removed the forks. Turned them upside down to dump the oil. When refilling after installing the new springs, it is best to fill them and them pump them a couple of times and recheck.
