Yep...it's on the market. We used it twice last year.
-
I guess I can post it. It's not done though. It is functional but a bit ugly. A lot of work to do on the style, logo, etc. Oberlin Ohio Community Forum - The Front Page

Well then I found myself with an extra VBulletin license. They aren't cheap so I needed to do something with it. Last night I very quickly built a new forum. Nothing that would interest any of you but just a local forum for the Oberlin, OH community. It may do no better than the Touring Hogs site but we'll see. It is up and running but needs a lot of tweaks, especially from a styling standpoint. I'll get to it when I can. I may regret it anyway. I really don't know what to expect. Oberlin is a very liberal little college town and I'm...well....not. It very well may not last long even if it does take off.

Oil Filter Comparisons... Hey I.m no Engineer
Freebird replied to Du-Rron's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I've been using Purolator on my bikes and my cars/trucks for several years. I like them. -
OK....the Members Lists are now sortable by the State/Province field. All you have to do it click on "state/province" in the column header and it will sort by that field. After it sorts, there will be an arrow beside it. If you click on the arrow, it will reverse the sort order. You can sort the full member list or the assistance list by location but there are so many who haven't edited their profiles and selected their state/province that you will get a lot of blanks in the ascending order.

That would be nice but unfortunately, that's separate animal.

LOL....too much I think. I thought we would have it by now.

It's not a big deal folks. I could have done a better job with it. My heart just wasn't in it.

I know that most of you don't care but there are a handful here who joined Touring Hogs. I thank you for your support but like I posted there, stick a fork in it, it's done. It has been online for about a year and done nothing. I chalk that up to two things. 1. I did very little to promote it. I got it going and then just sort of let it sit there. I didn't spend any time really customizing it the way I have worked on VentureRiders. The fact is, this site is my passion and regardless of what I or anybody else is riding, my loyalties are to my many friends here. 2. Had I done all that I could, I'm still not sure it would have ever taken off. The fact is, there are just a lot of well established Harley forums out there with years of great technical information available. It would take many years to come close to what they have to offer in that regard. So...later tonight...I will be pulling the plug on Touring Hogs.

I realize that the VR Assistance list is difficult to use as it is. I have been working on some custom programming to let us sort it by state/province. After working on that until 2:00 this morning, I came to the conclusion that I am just to dumb to get it to work the way I want it to.....I do a lot of the customizations but some things just seem to baffle me. So...I have contracted with a coder to do it for us. He thinks he can have it done by sometime later today or tonight. Just wanted you to know that I haven't forgotten about it.

Yes, but it's OK because it's like sitting on a big heating pad.

I had never seen that one. Looks like it will work fine also.

By the way, this is where we get them now. epgSoft

It does for me. You have to have a special dongle though.

I think that is what we are doing now. You go to the website and create your map and then just add it to your signature. I think what is being requested though is that this be done automatically in your settings. You go to your settings, select the states that you have ridden in and the map is created and inserted into your signature. I would have no idea how to do that.

Some of you have complained about the popping sounds. I think they are finally disabled.

Thought Freebird was up to another exiting adventure when I saw this..
Freebird replied to Eck's topic in Watering Hole
No way for me. I would never use training wheels. -
Folks, it doesn't matter who it was. I didn't mention a name because if he ever decides he would like to come back, he is more than welcome. Over the years there have been a handful of people that got upset about something and left only to realize later that they were wrong or even that maybe they didn't feel that they were wrong but decided it wasn't a big deal. There are at least two members that came and went several times because they were always getting bent out of shape over something. If this member ever decides that he wants to come back for whatever reason, he is welcome to do so and nothing more need to be said about any of this. Like I said at the beginning, if something that I said was offensive then I apologize. That's all there is to it. No apology back to me is necessary.

Investigating Olivia's History is almost as much fun as riding her!!!!
Freebird replied to cowpuc's topic in Watering Hole
That's just very cool Puc. Heck, Vermillion is probably less than 10 miles from my house and in fact, we usually do a dinner ride on Friday night to the Quacker Steak and Lube in Vermillion. Maybe he could even ride it over and spend some time with us at my house. -
Sad Day at Work Yesterday
Freebird replied to Chaharly's topic in Inspirational, Motivational, Prayer Requests, Etc.
I agree. I too have lost friends at work over the years. There was a time when I too was building power plants and there were some dangerous situations. When I first started as an electrician's helper, the electrician that I worked with ended up getting into some high voltage (6900V) circuits and was killed on the spot. He was a fine man and taught me a lot about working safe but made a critical mistake. You are right, it's not worth it. Take your time and be safe above all else. Our prayers go out to the young man's family. -
Details on tickets coming soon.

Great...it just never stops...now I'm accused of being full of crap.

It hasn't stopped snowing here all day. I should be in Pittsburg now but am still sitting at home. I was in Pittsburg last week for two days and had to cut the trip short due to a back problem. I've never had back trouble but something is knocking me on my butt. I don't know if it's actually my back or a kidney problem. Went to the doctor last Wednesday when I got home and got a shot and some really good pills. Thought I was better yesterday but it was bad again this morning. Went for an ultrasound of my kidneys earlier today and should know more tomorrow. Unless I'm completely bedridden or snowed in though, I have to get to Pittsburg tomorrow. Would love to get out on the bike but Rick Butler has my seat right now anyway.

Well it is taking much longer for these decals to arrive than I anticipated. I ordered these from a US company. They sent me confirmation a week ago that they had shipped via Priority Mail. I just looked at the tracking and see that they are sitting in customs in San Fransisco. According to what I can tell, they came there from Canada. Now it doesn't bother me that they came from Canada but if the truth were known, I would bet that they came to Canada from China. Oh well...it's the same place I got them from last time so the quality should be great.....if they would just get here. Sorry for the delay.

How did you get out of your corner again?
