hey BJB it depends whether you are talking about provincial border or US border. Ive heard the warranties are transferable easily between provinces, but you have NO warranty if you buy a bike from the States. Brian

This is way too soon, but it looks like winter weather is headed in to stay tomorrow with daytime highs in negative digits. yuk!! Snow is expected tomorrow and the high for tomorrw and for the next several days is supposed to be between -2 to -8 C (30 - 18F) . Overnight lows are supposed to be getting down to -20c (-4F) starting Thurs nite. It looks like everyones bike rides around here are done for quite a while now. Keep warm! Brian:snow::snow::snow:

It was tough this morning sitting thru the court stuff, but keep telling yourself youre doing the right thing standing up for Tom, but youre also standing up for yourself and finding yourself again. This will be a long healing process but you will get there and part of this path is now set to be over some time In Feb. Keep on going!, Youre doing fine and getting better all the time! Brian

Looks like we're "Venturing" to the "dark side"...

I love using Pledge on my scoot and I do use it on almost everything on the bikefrom chrome to windsheild, BUT I do think my scoot gets dustier a lot quicker than it does when Ive used other things. Dust is way easier to get rid of when you have a shiny and slippery surface so I keep using the Pledge cause its cheap and effective. Brian -
Yeah we have had that the last few days , irs been gorgeous, even set a record high or 2 for this time of year. Gotta love it!!!! Brian

Ive only ever tried this once and it seemed to work. Shake A very small amount of cayenne pepper in your gloves works also, but be careful with it if you put in too much and then sweat Ive been told you can actually burn your skin. Brian

I know you will enjoy your new bike and the miles youll be able to put on it every year. Just remember you wont be able to miss those shifts and still be able to beat those Harley guys like you used to with your 87. Hey now you guys gotta make it out to one of the meets this year just so we can see your new scoot! Say hi to Nina for me!!! Brian -
I am fixing mine, or rather Rocket is fixing mine, i think I am just the wrench passer, not sure how much help I will be to Paul, but I am headed up to Wainwright where Rocket is stationed to pull the engine out next weekend and spend the long weekend fixing the trans there. So you picked up that 2nd gen demo from the dealer? Brian

I rented a uhaul before i bought my enclosed trailer and the small uhaul they advertise at 14 bux doesnt have enuff load capacity to carry the load. I rented the 22 buck a day trailer from uhaul and it worked great for my 1st gen. but check before you go to uhaul as they did have some requirements on the hitch and wiring before they will let you take it. heres some pics of mine in the uhaul so you can see if its what you need http://picasaweb.google.com/friesman1/MooseJawSaskatchewan Good luck with the new scoot! Let the Ontario Canada politicians know that you are not onside with them banning children under 14 being a passenger on a motorcycle. Please visit and join the Facebook page to send a message to the politicians! http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=30995034263 Brian :stirthepot: -
High-rev problem
friesman replied to MikeC's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
My 85 ran well ,and idled great until i paid some guy to chaNGe my valve cover gaskets. While he was in there he said might as well synch the carbs,,,,well I dont think this guy had a sniff of an idea on what to do , because right after that my mileage dropped and when it warms up the idle goes to around 2500 rpm. I figure its just one more thing to have a look at when the engine is outta the bike this winter and Old buddy ole pal Rocket is fixing my trans. Brian -
Hey I am still trying to see if we can get something going in BC in the Nelson area in late June, early July , mabbe you guys can make that one if you cant get to Cody. Maybe we can round up a teepee for you guys there Brian

I think the biggest thing to prevent fogging is to get your moist breath away from the visor or your glasses. This is what I wore when I would snowmobile in cold weather. Its neoprene and it has a tube attached that hangs down that directs your nose and mouth breathing moisture down and away from your visor so you dont fog. I wore this out in -35 and never fogged wheil riding at 60mph, in that temp you still have to flip the visor up when you stop but as soon as you start up flip the visor back down. Plus its the warmest thing Ive worn in the cold is it stops all air from going thru it, not like a knitted balaclavs that just kinda "sifts" the wind. http://www.extragear1.com/get_item_99023_fog-evader.htm Brian

Hey Rick, the price looks good from here. the Dealer here has a demo (he doesnt let anyone ride it, its only been for showroom) but he still wants 19k for it. He's crazy its been there a year! Hey you and Nina thinking about coming to Cody next Sept and renting a teepee instead of the covered wagon? Brian

NewEnough has just put the JOe Rocket leather michael Jordan Jacket with the armor on sale for 179 bucks with sizes up to 60. This is a good deal for us big guys as its hard to find big sizes plus they just never go on sale for us. I dont think they will last long regular price is 499. Here is the link http://www.newenough.com/closeouts/leather_suits_jackets_and_pants/joe_rocket/michael_jordan_2k7_team_replica_leather_motorcycle_jacket.html

Ive used my snowmobile helmet in cold weather as it has the doublewalled visor to prevent fogging. the outside layer of the visor gets cold but the inside of the visor isnt nearly as cold and really resists fogging. those helmets usually also have inserts to direct airflow from your breath away from the visor surface as well. Here is the link to an SHC helmet http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=404973&kwtid=267827 Brian

Yeah, Don I think you could be a bit light on the estimate. JUST THE PEE BREAKS AND FOOD could take a week for these guys...:rotfl: ........Without any riding time. Brian

New motorcycle passenger bill introduced in Ontario ...

Having an infant on a scoot prolly isnt a good idea, BUT it should still be the parents choice whether to take them along. It shouldnt be up to some lawmaker or politician with nothing to do. Brian -

I hope this doesnt get passed in Ontario or anywhere for that matter. I can understand if this was very young children perhaps, but its still a parents choice to transport their kids anyway they choose. If a parent thinks a bike is safe, thats where the decision should lie, NOT with a legislator. Brian -
Maybe, but it still might be cheaper and less work than having to replace the stator. LED's should free up some needed current and still get real lighting to the road in front. Brian

According to the Seafoam info brochure and video it is a stabilizer as well as an engine and carb cleaner. Brian
