When you think you have seen stupid... Tada!!
Marcarl replied to Snaggletooth's topic in Watering Hole
Bet they were in a hurry and thought it was a HD, and when they stood up to give the final yank they realized that it was a real bike,,, so they left it! -
Not a whole lot of luck at this website Earl,,,, maybe did something wrong,,, could you check it out?

I have a resistor on my scoot that works for almost anything. If there is too much voltage it gets switched to amperage on the fly, and if the amperage gets too hot, it dissipates through the helmet. I have not tested it for small items, seeing as I don't have a small item situation, but I am sure that if I had a small item that would be resisted as well. As far as letting out the smoke is concerned, if and when that should happen, I suggest leaving the scoot where it's at and run for safety.

Never had that happen to us,,,, I can only imagine the feeling of loss. Praying for you all, and will ask for the Comforter to be present.

Can't really say that I'm starting a ride night again just yet, but tomorrow looks good so I plan to go for ride. Next week I have a meeting, but after that it will be every Wednesday night. 6:30 pm is when I plan to leave,,,, any comers or hangers on?

No, there was nothing wrong with the Avon,,,, the Metzler had a piece missing, showing the threads. Sorry about the confusion, guess I figured everybody had a handle on the Metzlers.

Don't want to make this another tire thread,,, no need,,,, just want to report that I was riding with a friend yesterday, who rides a Wing,,, not that it matters,,,, but he had his tires changed to Avons,,,,,,,,, from????????????? Metzlers,,,,,,,, and why am I making this post??????? he was surprised that when they showed him the rear tire there was a piece missing. It was time to change the tire, but not super urgent. We do not know the date on the tire, how many miles or how long it's been on the scoot. just so you know

Probably to biggest complaint I hear from a GPS owner, is that they can't see it in bright sunlight. It really depends on what you like as to what you get used to. Each has it's advantages and drawbacks. For a MC, it should be able to take vibrations, somehow keep the water out and should be glove friendly. But if you can't see it in broad daylight, it becomes kind of useless at times and you'll be disappointed. If you have a sound system on your scoot, you want to make sure that it will integrate with your sound system or you won't be able to hear instuctions when riding. If you want it to be an MP3 player, that should be there as well. The Zumo 660 does everything I want it to,, almost, there always something missing,,,,,,,,and oh, if your name is Carl you'll want to make sure it's drop resistant as well.

Looks like that a sign of 'things' to come, best get the place child proofed.

That sure be a nice looking scoot,,,,,, now keep the shinny side up EH!!!!

Lower fairing cowling-HELP!
Marcarl replied to Yamamike's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
If you decide to cable tie the lower part, don't tighten it, it designed to be able to flex and tightening it will put undue stress on the upper tabs. -
So you're going to have a Class Meet & Greet at your place,, everybody is going to want you to deal with their Class issues. Best get the food ready. BTW, your story had me sitting in the dentist chair, no wonder your scoot fixed itself.

Maybe time to change the fuel lines, and that is a tricky business, unless you blow big bucks for the original. I always listen for the fuel pump to click or quit clicking before I start my scoot. If the filter is plugged it won't quit running and if it doesn't work it won't click to start with. Don't know why I do that, I just do.

Now that is a Master Frog!!!

Hate to tell you my friend, but somebody has to come out with the truth,,,, it's not the seat, nor would it be the rider, so it's got to be the folks she meets at these rallies.

And He said that not a hair would fall from our heads without Him knowing about it, and that if He made sure the sparrows got food,,, how much for us. We will ask for guidance for you, and you will be looked after, maybe not the way you might expect, but He won't let you down. -
white labeling on controls
Marcarl replied to soraoka's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Sorry, gave only half the story. What I described works for raised lettering, using the contact cleaner only on the cloth only to wipe off the raised part of the lettering so that the paint will stick to the raised part and not flow into any depressions. On depressed lettering it's different. You'll need to clean everything real well, especially the lettering, then just smear the paint on so that it colors the lettering (too much is not good as it will crack on drying) the wipe of the surface with a clean rag. You won't wipe out the lettering if you're careful.
