  1. Now that was funny I was laughing out loud all of her answers
  2. I really like the radiator cover. It looks great
  3. Like Art says, The fuel light should come on before you have to switch to reserve.
  4. When I have to go on reserve and go straight to the gas station I've got nearly two gallons left in the tank. I have ridden sixty miles after going on reserve but that's as far as I would want to push it. Dennis
  5. Very touching and it is amazing how somebody with the gift can make something artistic with such ease. It is the same with musicians. They make it look so easy that you think anyone can do it. Dennis
  6. What an incredible trip. My 22 year old daughter has been to Europe three times. This summer she spent three months there. A month and a half by herself traveling around. She saw Austria, France and England among several other countries. I got to see lots of pictures. I would love to go but first my nephew and I are going to see the United States on our bikes. Your dad is a lucky man. Dennis

    Mt Rushmore

    That was great!
  8. Could I get some more information? I live in Lake City, Fl. (North Florida). Therefore I figure Sebring is too far away from me, but I really have no idea where that is. Dennis
  9. This is just what I do. You say you stay in third until 40 mph. If I were you I wouldn't go into fourth until about 55 mph. Depending on the road and the distance I usually ride 55 mph zones in 3rd. Dennis
  10. I'll turn 54 in December and have a twenty year old daughter in Flagler University. Luckily she comes home every weekend or I go to St. Augustine to see her. Her growing up is killing me. To the twenty seven year old with the Venture. I had two Goldwings and a Venture starting at the age of 23 so I don't think that it is odd at all that you ride a touring bike. Dennis
  11. My nephew is interested and would like to know the payoff and how many miles the bike has on it. You can e-mail me the information and we would appreciate it. Thanks
  12. I also installed the risers. They put me in a more relax postion. Now I'm not leaning forward with my arms stiff. Like everyones said the cables have enough length, but just enough. One thing I did was to cut the zip ties that bundle the cables and then replaced them after I got the risers in position. Other than that just pull hard to get all the slack you can out from under the gas tank. As far as the rubber dampers I just don't use them and have noticed no vibration because of it. I've had the risers on two years. Yes the handlebars will now hit the plastic cover around the igntion switch when you turn the bars all the way either direction. The only time it really hits is when you lock the steering or are backing up. There is give to this plastic cover and again hurts nothing. Dennis Hayes
  13. I know what you mean. I managed to touch it, but had already done the spark plugs and air filters and decided that was enough for one day. Had to leave something for later right. Dennis
  14. I went to the Clymer.com website for a repair manual. All I could find was a manual for the 1999 to 2003 Venture. I have a 2006 Venture. I have heard that nothing has really changed on the Venture. Will this manual be all right for my 2006? Thanks. Dennis
  15. I went to the Clymer Repair Manual website and all they have is a 1999 to 2003 Venture manual. I have a 2006. Nothing has really changed and this manual should be fine, correct? Dennis

    Extra Key

I keep my extra key on a seperate key ring in my pocket so it's always handy. Dennis
  17. I bought an '06 new in December of '05. I've put about 24,000 on it and have had zero problems. Sorry I can't help with the height question, but from what I've heard you will be more than comfortable. I love my bike. By the way "halfwitt" go CARDINALS. Dennis

    Donations

This donation is the least I can do considering the money I save thanks to the advice I receive from the guys here. I'll try and remember to do it more often. Thanks for the site. I truely enjoy it. Dennis
  19. Thanks Roadkill and Freebird. Just went out and followed your instructions. It took two seconds. Dennis
  20. I developed the same problem yesterday only I left the key on acc. overnight and ran the battery dead. After that I had no speakers. The book says you should press the select button for 2 seconds or less and it will cycle through Speaker, headset, bass, treble, exc. Only mine skips speakers and goes straight to headset and then bass. No speaker. I figure I'll keep playing with it and figure it out, but if anybody can help I'd appreciate it. Dennis
  21. I feel some people are like my wife. She hears every little noise and it's magnified. I have an '06 Venture with about twenty three thousand miles on it. I ride most every day. Yes I live in Florida. I love the bike and from my experience every Yamaha has that little whine. I've never heard one that is bad, it is just how Yamaha's sound. It seems some are worse than others or some people are just more sensitive to it. Personally, I love my Venture and I'm glad that it is the one I decided to buy. The Yamaha whine doesn't bother me and I've had no problems what so ever with the bike. Unless you count a couple of bolts backing out and the CB antenna breaking off for no reason. These were fixed under warranty with no hassle. Although I don't know you I would say you will be happy with your Venture. Dennis
  22. Very nice. I wouldn't mind mine looking like that. I wonder if I could make it look that good. Excellent work. Dennis '06 Venture
  23. Thank you. But I'm jealous. Dennis Hayes
  24. Wayne-I had the fairing and the handle bars off lowering the front end. Because of this I already had the triple tree off. Dennis
  25. I used a 1 1/6" socket to remove the chrome nut to remove the triple tree and a pair of channel locks to tighten the steering head. I hope this is what you were asking about.
