He probably only took 1 day to do the mod on mine. Shipping time was 1 week to him via US Post Office.....3 days back to me because Rick sent it back via UPS....and did not charge me a dime for the shipment back.
-
Not only does Rick do a super job with the seat mod but NO ONE is going to beat his price or speedy service! I took my seat to 3 different Upholstery Shops to inquire about them doing the same mod and the costs.....Lowest price of the 3 was over $180. Shortest amount of time required for the mod was 3 weeks. Nuff said......... Boomer...........one happy customer and rider.
-
Dave I am sure you will NOT be disappointed with Rick's craftmanship! Having him do my seat was the best thing I have done for my Venture to date. What an awesome ride! Boomer........who is happier than a pig in s**t with his seat.

Looks like we won't see a Gen3 until 2010 or 2011. Gives em more time to get that VMax engine into a Venture frame.....and get rid of the cassette deck! Boomer..........sitting tight on his 06 and even tighter on his money.

It has to be a 2nd Gen yer buying. I'm pretty sure that Credit Unions won't finance a purchase for an antique motorcycle........... Boomer......who has the popcorn ready now.
-
2nd Gens were badly needed to help the 1st Gen's get home. Boomer......who can stir the pot with the best of them.
-
I used a small piece of aluminum tape and taped a spare key behind the license plate. I know other riders who have taped their spare key to the underside of their seat. Boomer.....who gets lost but has never lost a key.
-
Indeed he does! I felt NO pressure on my tailbone whatsoever. 4 hours in the saddle and it felt like a 15 minute ride. Unbelievable!!! Boomer......who's now afraid to fart and ruin the seat.....
-
I have 4 Registered Appy's here for the wife and boys. Gave up horse riding years ago....but I still pay the Vet and Farrier...... Boomer.....who's Venture would run the legs offa any broom-tailed glue factory.

After 3 days of 40F temps I am no longer ice bound!! Took the scoot out on the road today and nailed down a solid 4 hour ride. The seat mod that Rick Butler did is just PERFECT and added to my extreme pleasure. Boomer.....with a grin from ear to ear. Note to Mother Nature: Pfffffffffffttttttttttt and in yer ear!

While I appreciate the list provided I have to wonder just how many folks even take the time to see where stuff is made before they buy it. Boomer.........who rides a Japanese bike that does not mark its territory like a famous American made bike does.

RSV rear shock (Trike kit)
BoomerCPO replied to a topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
If the day comes that the rear shock on my Venture goes south the last thing I would do is replace it with another OEM shock............. Boomer......who's skinny butt will never cause a rear shock to blow. -
Never had to add oil to my 06 Venture. Boomer.....knocking on his wooden head.

I hate Rap, it ain't real music it's crap, I hate Rap
BoomerCPO replied to Midrsv's topic in Watering Hole
What these kids today don't realize is that they will not look too cool when they have to wear a hearing aid in each ear by the time they turn 25......... Boomer.....who thinks Rap music should be classified as torture by the Geneva Convention. -
I'm just in my Winter mode here. Locked in by ice and can't get the scoot to the road. Boomer.....who is grateful he does not have a Pond Monster to contend with.....and is too fast for the guys in white coats to get caught.

I have been fighting it since the 14th of Jan this year. Used to buy cigs by the carton and now I buy 1 pack at a time only. I force myself to go as long as I can without firing one up. Every day it is a series of little battles that I fight....most of em I win but there is a few losses as well. Due to the drastic reduction I am starting to feel better....and the extra $$$ in my pocket feels good as well. One day at a time is the only thing I can do to beat the smoking habit. I hope it gets easier once the riding season is here. I hope to smoke even less by staying on the scoot. Don I hope all works out well for you. If anybody deserves a full break it is you. Regards.....Boomer.....the almost non-smoker.

Welcome to the VR community! I own/ride a 2006 Midnight Venture. The best looking color of all the Ventures IMHO. As you know every bike has its pro's and con's . The Venture tops them all for power and comfort for both rider and passenger. The maintenance for this bike is no more or less than what a reasonable person would do for any bike.....unless you enjoy sitting on the roadside waiting for a trailer to come get you. Probably the biggest issues I have with the bike is the out-dated cassette player; being a bit top heavy; and low speed handling . All of these can be overcome,as I have done, as you will find out in reading the info posted here by long time experienced Venture riders. Good luck with whatever bike you choose. Boomer........who loves long days in the Venture saddle.
