  1. Are the mufflers identical between the Mark I and Mark 22 lst Editions? Could the Mark II's be a tad longer? Just curious. Thought I read something about this at one time but can't find it now so I refer to those much more knowledgeable than I.
  2. Ain't no doubt in my military mind. a 2011 Harley Davidson Ultra Screaming Eagle. I don't care if it cost 38K. I will have one before the end of this summer. So what my ole lady leaves.
  3. I think the one in the middle works down the hall.
  4. Would had posted on the original thread by Skydoc but thought it would be best to start a new one. I have been considering purchasing the anti-dive blocking plates from Skydoc; essentially removing the anti-dives system from my 86. Can't really think of a good reason in doing so otherthan eliminating the needed power they require. Already have the Progressive springs installed. So, I have the following questions. 1) Does the anti-dive system draw any power when the front shocks aren't under an increasing load (diving)? 2) How much power does the anti-dive system draw when the front shocks dive (max draw)? 3) By making the front shocks stiffer which reduces the dive, doesn't that fact alone reduce the amount of juice the anti-dive system draws? 4) And I suppose that by eliminateing the anti-dive system, that doesn't eliminate the ability to use the CLASS up front (increase/decrease air pressure). 5) Last question. As all us 1st Gen owners know, whenever the rear brake is applied, which activates two 1157 stop light bulbs, is when the voltmeter really drops. Whether stopped or moving, activating the rear stop light affects the voltmeter the same. I've installed a couple really good bright 260 degree LED bulbs in the tail light and notice my voltmeter doesn't drop one little bit when activating the rear brake. Having said that, I doubt the anti-dive draws much at all. The question is: Could some convince me that removing the anti-dive is really a good idea?
  5. Well, I thought I'd like my 86 lst Edition louder so I installed a brand new set of Macs, heck they could be Jardines for all I know as they look exactly alike and boy did I have a hard time finding them. But after riding it for a few months and about 1000 miles, I couldn't wait to get the thing quieted down to stock noise levels again but I had to wait for a set of the double down turn extensions. Finally obtained those from another member here so I could reinstall the stock mufflers. She is back to being quiet. If I want noisy, I can always take my Ultra out for a spin and I really don't mind a loud sounding Harley; two cylinders of 750 cc each sure do sound differently that four cylinders of 325 each. Maybe someone here will want these Macs, don't know in this economy. I will be posting them in the Classifieds here real soon. Silence is golden.
  6. Yeah, I'm from Pennsylvania, a really long way from Pennsylvania....Aledo,Texas. And, I plan on washing one of my bikes tomorrow and if I get a flat, I'll change it where it goes flat. Carry a hand gun, shoot on my property, make all the noise I want and eat Texas bbq. Man, life is good here. Should have lots of time for a long ride tomorrow as well, no snow or rain here. Eat your hearts out.

  8. My brother has a 92 F150 / 300 cu. in. 6 banger with almost 350,000. Still runs and sounds great, too.
  9. Tom, Robert and I are both home safe. Thanks and boy can't wait for another breakfast at KKKK.
  10. Well Thank you all very much. Sure don't feel 235. U.S. MARINE --- 1 APRIL 1966 - 31 MARCH 1966 I'd leave right now for active duty if the Corps would have me.
  11. I was told a very long time ago there are only two types of bike riders; those that will be going down and those that will go down again. I feel the same way everytime I am pulling out of my driveway; is today the day. Can't let it deter you though, when the Old Man upstairs says it's your day, won't matter what you're doing.
  12. Must be the 90cc Sportster model.
  13. Not sure what you intented to communicate but I think may had been heading in the direction that costs to ship the parts from origin to India then to the U.S. may exceed cost to assemble the bikes here. But what's the dif between motorcycles manufactured in Japan, England, Italy, and now maybe India? They will all be foreign makes. So WTH? With the additional cost our government is burdening on all companies with, big and small, we should all expect this. VOTE! VOTE! VOTE!
  14. :rotf:
  15. Hey, my 86 has a tape deck....So there right back at ya. You should know that. And it doesn't whine either.
  16. and you know what. Everytime I try to pick a challenge to prove that my 86 will run the dog snot out of any 2d Gen, for some reason, the 2d Gen rider has kinda ignores me. Why, cause they don't want to be embarrassed by a 25 year old relic; but a good looking 25 year old relic. There have been a few that took up the challenge but always had an excuse why I pulled away so fast and left them behind; needs tuned, carbs outta sync, bad tires, high speed wobble. Excuses are like you know what.
  17. It was my understanding when I retired that most dry cleaners will clean/wash/dry clean U.S. Colors for free. Professional dry cleaners I would think know how to properly clean any old deterioating material without further damage. May be something worth checking out. But as I said "when I retired". With the economy as screwed up as it is, no telling what has changed.
  18. 2/5 I hear is currently in the A-frames on Camp Wilson, 29 Palms.
  19. Normally the Red Cross only involves themselves in "bonafide" emergencies. You may or may not be successful soliciting their assistance short of a family emergency. If I were you, I simply call the operator at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, 29 Palms, Ca (obtainable from information or google it). Ask them for the telephone number to the Staff Duty Officer or Officer of the Day for 1st Battalion, 5th Marines or ask the Base Operator to connect you. Tell the Battalion Staff Duty or the Battalion Officer of the Day you need to get a message to your son. THEY WILL PROVIDE IMMEDIATE ASSISTANCE. 760-830-7200
  20. I doubt running rich would cause an overheating problem.
  21. 2007
  22. And if you ever get poison ivy on you, the absolute best remedy for the severe itching is hot water, as hot as you can stand. Once you submerge the rash, it will itch beyond belief but will quickly subside. Once the itching is totally gone, you are good for about 24 hours. I had it so bad one time, that I thought I would die and this was the only thing that worked.
  23. Probably Marine Corps enlistee rejects for being Mental Category 5s scoring a whopping 22 on the ASVAB. When caught they really need their asses whooped and be made mine detectors with the only equipment being their combat boots. Dirt bags, simply dirt bags.
