  1. Hey maybe this could turn into the next Sturgis or Daytona. "Oberlin bike week" has a nice ring to it don't you think?
  2. I think these folks can fix you right up. On the RSV we use 2" over cables. http://www.buckeyeperformance.com/
  3. Very interested in an Alaska VR cruise. We can go anytime.
  4. WOW!
  5. Sounds like an issue with the bolts to me. Too long, wrong diameter or thread pitch, socket rounded out not allowing full torque. Also check the ball end wrench to make sure it's not rounded off. It's got to be something simple that you're missing. They are in an awkward spot to get at. Maybe when you get the fairing off you can get a better look at it to see what's going on. Try putting the bolts in without the bar to see what's going on. Check the bolt size and get a couple of new stainless bolts. I have a stock turn signal bar if you want to go that way. Pay the shipping and it's yours.
  6. Are you using a ball end allan wrench to tighten the bolts? Are the bolts too long and bottoming in the hole? Are you using blue loctite?
  7. I just got a cruise flyer in the mail today. For Holland America, 7 days round trip out of Vancouver BC. Interior $839 cdn, ocean view $959 cdn, balcony $1979 cdn. All price are plus $135 pp Gov't fees and taxes. Departure dates from May 12 thru Sept. 8
  8. A definite maybe from us Don. We were planning to do an Alaskan trip next summer too but we were thinking of taking the bike to the coast and then the Alaska Marine Hwy. (http://www.dot.state.ak.us/amhs/index.shtml) up the inside passage then bike down the Alaskan Hwy. A Cruise Ship is not exactly what we were planning but might just work. Will keep an eye on this thread.
  9. Can you still open the saddle bag lid?
  10. Brad and Lonna, Sorry to hear of your friends passing. My sympathy and condolences to you and the family. Please make sure his wife and family get the counselling they will need.
  11. I tried this using the Genmar risers and it worked ok going straight down the road but on a full lock turn to the right the throttle would bind up. Not to safe. Wouldn't recommend using the stock throttle cables at all.
  12. I've put the G2 bars on three different bikes and always drilled the locating hole for the switch box. Never changed out the brake or clutch hoses but did use the 2" over throttle cables. I also used the stock bar weights on two of the installations by welding nuts into the ends of the new bars.
  13. As Brad T said above, I have repacked mine and it did quiet them down a bit. They will still talk pretty good when you get on it though. As for the flaking tips. I replaced them with some HD fishtail tips. They have several other styles that would work too but it does take some work to do the swap.
  14. Lucky you Peggy. I had to go to Phantom of the Opera last night. Put me to sleep.
  15. I don't know about queens but I remember a fairy at the Kitchener rally.
  16. I'm sure going to miss those ferry rides to go and pick up RSV parts in Marine City. And dinner with you guys at the golf course. Too bad we didn't get a chance to do that once more before you go.

  18. Just can't picture you on one of those tupperware bikes George. The style just dosen't fit your bad a$$ biker look....LOL
  19. It would look great with a nice chrome seat rail Bill. This is my old Road Star.
  20. I worked for years using Trichloroethane. This was long before WHIMIS (health and safety) training etc. The plant would buy it by the barrel full. We used it to clean just about everything. No rubber cloves either. Just soak the part and reach in and pull it out. We had squirt bottles we would use to spray down fixture gauges and then use an air hose to dry them off. No respirator or any breathing protection of any kind. Lots of the guys I worked with including myself, developed skin rashes. Many of the guys died young but nothing was ever attributed to the use of the chemicals. Then one day they came along and removed all of it. Seems someone figured out how bad it was. Apparently it is also a carcinogen.
  21. Don't know if this is the correct way but it works for us. I always shut the bike off, put the side stand down and get off first. The passenger then swings her right leg over the tank and steps off on the left side.
  22. Sept. /04 for me.
  23. We road the back roads to London and back (450 kms) to visit our next door neighbour who has been in the hospital there for heart surgery. Didn't do any fish'n. Had fish and chips and cold beer for dinner though.
  24. Congrats Carl and Marca. I'm sure it's a beautiful place and you'll be very happy there. Web site doesn't want to open for me for some reason but I'm sure we'll get to see it in person sooner or later. Where is it in relation to your current location. Never mind, I finally got it to open. Looks great and pretty close to your current place too.
  25. That's ok Carl. Don't think they make wooden cowboy boots anyway.
