As much fun as it is to watch on TV, it's nothing like being there in person. The atmosphere is electric. So much to see and so little time. Glad I got to do it this week. Mary really liked this one. It sold for a mere $44,000.

We left Phoenix this morning and pulled into San Diego this afternoon. Great trip across the desert on I-8. I've never seen such amazing landscape. Surprised to see snow at the 4000 foot elevation as we crossed the last mountain range. Weather here is beautiful today.

Yep, we were right in the middle of that storm. We decided to stay put here in Buckeye until the weather improves.

Yesterday we were heading to the Barrett Jackson car auction on the 101 loop road around Phoenix. I was running in the middle lane at the speed limit with the headlight modulator on. A guy in a jeep in the right lane decides he wants my spot and came about half way into my lane before he got the message. Last I seen him, he was still in the right lane and had dropped back to a crawl. That was too close for comfort.

Looks liked we escaped just in time. Hope my neighbour likes that new motor I put on the snowblower.

Well it's sure nice in SW Arizona. High 40s this morning and heading for the high 60s. Rode around Lake Havasu City yesterday and had a nice boat ride on the lake too.

Does anyone know of a chain store where I could buy a Zumo 550? Living in Canada I'm nervous about buying on line in case of warranty problems etc. Cross border shipping suks too.

A long time ago a much older and much wiser friend of mine told me that with women "it's a h*ll of a lot easier to lose points then it is to get them". Well yesterday I was able to gain a few. Mary is a big C&W music fan so when we saw that Garth Brooks was playing here in Vegas I suggested that we try and get tickets. She said it would be impossible, that the show would have been sold out months ago. I said it don't hurt to ask. So at 3:00 yesterday afternoon we go to the box office and they have a line for last minute cancellations. No body was waiting so I said lets go. After a ten minute wait the girl called us up. She said there was two seats for the 10:30 show, centre stage, row O. I said we'll take them. Mary was so excited and giddy like a teenage girl. The show was excellent and even though I'm not a fan I really enjoyed it too. Trisha Yearwood, his wife, came out for a couple of songs as well. I was a hero last night. Now I just have to figure out how not to lose those points. Maybe tickets to Brooks and Dunn???

We're still here. New Years Eve was crazy. We came back to the shuttle at 11:00 to get away from all the drunks. From our front window we could see the fire works over the Stratosphere. We're going to see Garth Brooks tonight.

Happy New Year everyone from Viva Las Vegas! It was a stressful drive the last couple of days getting here due to weather conditions but we made it time for the New Year celebration as planned. They are shutting down the strip to traffic at 6:30. It'll probably be nuts out there tonight.

Tell me about it. I drove through OK, TX and NM yesterday and on to AZ today. The further west and higher up I went the worse it got. Parked in Flagstaff tonight with snow piled up everywhere. On to Las Vegas tomorrow. Sure hope the weather improves. Still had green grass when I left home on Sunday.

Maybe I could hit you up for a tour guide. We would like to head over your way while we're in that area. Would like to see the ocean but don't really care about the big cities too much.

We bought this one... http://www.acer.com/aspireone/ So far so good. It does everything we wanted it to do. Compact and easy to carry on the bike. $350 CDN at Costco. FYI....if you hit the F11 key the menu bars disapear. Hit it again and they come back.

Thanks in advance for doing this Goose. where do I buy (insert name) chrome (or other...) accessory? where do I buy tires, brake pads, oil / air, filters etc. etc? what are my options for auxiliary lighting? how / where to install / buy CD player? and why would you want too? my seat is too hard / soft, high / low, wide / narrow... what is the best seat mod or aftermarket seat to use? what model / colour is the fastest?????? (had to through that one in)

Are the cheaper John Deere lawn tractors any good?

Most of the cheaper line of lawn tractors are made by the same company (MTD) and painted what ever colour the customer orders (John Deere Green). If you look at other brands in the same price range you'll find that they are very similar with maybe a different hood and paint job. Even a lot of the bigger tractors are now made off shore and painted to look like their brand. Buyer beware, you get what you pay for. Or in the case of John Deere, you pay extra for the name and the green paint but don't get the quality that you might expect due to the cheaper line of equipment. They are doing the same thing now with generators and power washers too. Decide what you need the equipment to do, look at the specs and compare apples to apples. -
