  1. Well if you're insulated and only have a 8' ceiling than I would say a 4800 watt construction heater would work. They do require a 220 volt 20 amp circuit.
  2. So clue me in here guys. Is there another High Output stator out there available for less $$$$ that does as good a job as the Buckeye one or what? I've read this whole thread and can't figure out what the verdict is. Went to Rick's motorsports site and I'm not seeing anything other than a rebuilt one that doesn't have a price listed.
  3. Mine is also about a 1970 something Bolens 32". It had a 10HP Tecumseh engine and this was the first year it didn't start on the first pull. I tried the electric starter which I hardly ever used and it turned over a couple of times and quit. The gas was running out the bottom of the carb which I rebuilt last winter and I was just tired of fooling around with it so I found a new 13 HP Honda "knock off" for $239.00 and bought it. It even has 12 volt electric start instead of 110 volt. Used the battery out of the lawn mower. I looked at buying a new one but they just don't build them like they used to.
  4. How big is your garage? I have a sun room (glass on three sides) attached to my house that's 14 X 22 with a 12 cathedral ceiling and I heat it with a 4800 watt construction heater.
  5. Sorry to hear that Brad...... (hehehehehehehehehe). Hope you get rid of it before I get down there. We still have green grass here, but I'm not mowing it again 'til April.
  6. Just finished installing a new 13 HP engine, new belts, fresh gas and oil.....the snow blower is ready to go.....BRING IT ON!
  7. I agree Brad. Tried to hook up and meet with Don a couple of times but it never worked out. My sympathy and condolences for his family and friends.
  8. Because fishtails look KOOL!
  9. $20.00 for gas.... Free lunch from son.... 200 mile ride on a beautiful day in the middle of November to have lunch with son....priceless:thumbsup2: I even found a couple roads I hadn't been on before....bonus:thumbsup:
  10. Visited my 90 year old dad today at his nursing home. He was in the Royal Canadian Ordnance Corps in WW II '39 -'45. I was proud to attend the service today with him. The first time in my life I've been able to do that.
  11. Left yesterday A.M. and got back this P.M. at 5:00. Never did a Nov. overnighter before. It was great, 600 kms. total.
  12. I know of a lady here in Ontario riding a Millennium RSV. Pat "Yamamom" Norris She joined this forum way back before the crash but I never saw her post and don't think she came back after the crash. http://on.northernstarsrider.ca/yamamom.html
  13. We (and about a million other people) couldn't have picked a better time to go to the Smoky's to see the fall colours. It was just about peak time. At the highest elevations on the Blue Ridge there were no leaves left at all but from 5000' on down it was beautiful. Cades cove was a mistake as it was bumper to bumper in there with everyone stopping to look at stupid deer. SM Nat'l. Park was also pretty busy and slow going. The Blue Ridge was fantastic. I came off of the Blue Ridge at 276 to catch I40 back to Sevierville. Wow, that little stretch coming down was just about as good as the Dragon. Had to be careful though because there was salt at the top. Got back home today. Now the clean up begins.
  14. It was still a great trip Jeff. It was really nice in the lower elevations. The salt bothered me more than the snow and the cold though. It's going to take a couple of days to get my bike cleaned up.
  15. Here you go Craig http://photos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs275.snc1/10231_163049577021_834047021_2655808_3254123_n.jpg
  16. Once the fog lifted this morning we headed out for the Foothills parkway and the Dragon's Tail. What a fantastic day! The weather was perfect. High 40s when we left this morning and warming up fast. I can't believe how this bike handles the twisties. I only scraped the floor boards a few times. It's the first time I've been on the dragon with the RSV. Last time I did it, I still had the Road Star. We continued on to Cherokee and back across the park on 441. Would you believe there was snow on the ground up there? I came 500 miles south of Canada and find snow. Who'd of thought?
  17. Sorry to disappoint you Tom but don't think I haven't thought about doing just that. We have to be home next week. Hope to head your way after Christmas and probably see you sometime in the winter either on the way to Arizona or the way back. BTW, a couple of your fellow Texans are camping right next to us. He and his wife are up here to ride the dragon and see the area.
  18. I bought an '05 Winnebago in '06. It's a 39' Class A on a Workhorse chassis with the 8.1 Chev engine. It had 8000 miles on it and was 8 months old. I truly believe the first guy just got tired of trying to get all the bugs out and traded it off. It took me another year to finally get everything fixed and I had to do most of it myself to get it to my satisfaction. I bought an extended warranty and glad I did as the Motosat satellite dish control box went out after the original warranty was up and that cost $1500. Just about paid for the extended warranty right there. I finally found a dealer in Florida who fixed an on going problem I had with the service engine light coming on. Several people told me and I believe it. The guy who buys any RV is the final inspector because they sure don't inspect them in the factory. Here are a couple of web sites I really found helpful. Lots of good advice and if have a question someone will know the answer. Kind of just like venturerider.org. http://www.irv2.com/ http://www.rv.net/forum/
  19. I liked this place. http://www.morganrvresorts.com/pages/blueberryhillfl_homepage Just south of Ocala so not the best for real hot weather but nice riding around there and kind of central.
  20. Sorry I missed the BBQ Randy, I'll be thinking about you while I enjoy a beer and have a BBQ here in Sevierville. 25E was a great ride. Thanks for all the replies everyone.
  21. Drill, tap and 1/4" stainless steel button head screws. Never have to drill rivets out again.
  22. Thank you everyone for the information. I think I just might check it out.
  23. Just wondering if anyone is familiar with 25E in KY and TN. We're heading down to Pigeon Forge for a week in the Smokey's and was thinking about taking this route with the motor home and trailer. Any advise? Hilly? Twisty? Maybe better to just check it out on the bike?
  24. I've been buying from http://www.swmototires.com/ . Good prices and fast service.
  25. Great job Charlie. Bet you're glad it didn't need mouth to mouth.
