It seems that a group of fellow VR members from Texas have seen fit to make me an honorary citizen of Texas. Now I not only have the key to the city of Athens TX, I also have an official Texas Passport. It came in the mail today. Guess this means they'll let me back whenever I want. Well that sure can't happen soon enough to suit me. Hope to make it back this winter for sure. Thanks Tom, Debbie and all the other fellow Texan VR members. See y'all soon eh!......now where did I put my 10 gallon hat???

Really sorry we had to miss this. You know we would have been there if we could.

Well I haven't been riding as much as normal this year but I finally think I've got the gas gauge problem solved. I tried the easy fix first and it worked. Greased up the connector and everything is back to normal.

Well, I've been out of the loop for a couple of weeks. Have you moved already or just on a re-con mission? I guess dinner at the golf course this week is out.

So very sorry to hear this. James was a good man. Glad we had the chance to visit and catch up this spring. My deepest sympathy and condolences to the family.

Have fun everybody. Sure wish we would have went to the rally instead of fishing in the great "wet" north.

You could just re-wrap the baffles if you just want it quieter. I bought packing material on ebay for cheap $$$. They originally had little or no packing.

Randy & Beth, Have a great vacation and be safe. We are camped just outside of Iroquois Falls. Taking the Polar Bear Express to Moosonee tomorrow. Sure getting our share of rain.

I adapted some Harley fishtail tips to mine. Do a search and you should be able to find the info on here somewhere.

Hey Charlie, stopped to see Rob and say hi for ya. Do you owe him money or something?????

So far bike riding is a lot more fun than fishing. Managed to get out yesterday at last but while I was feeding the fish I was able to get my line tangled twice and catch a stick before the rain came back again and got us soaked to the skin. We didn't get that wet riding to Maine and back a couple of weeks ago. We did get to see the "3 bears" at a dump on Sunday. They were having smorgasbord.

Sitting on the side of the road in Michigan
Gary N. replied to Missionary Rider's topic in Watering Hole
The RSV doesn't have a vented cap but it does have a vent hose running from the top of the tank to a check valve at the bottom of the bike. I haven't heard of the check valve giving any problem on the RSV but on the Road Stars it was a common issue. There also used to be a problem with something getting caught in the metal pipe right at the tank. Remove the hose from the tank and try blowing into the tank with the cap removed and also blow into the hose to make sure nothing is blocked up. -
Will do Charlie.

Sorry Charlie, I didn't realize you were that close and never would have thought that you would want to drive over to NB to see us.

Never been fishing before so when some friends invited us to go to their favorite fish'n place we said "sure why not". So we left yesterday AM and drove the space shuttle (fishing yaught in tow) and stayed over night in North Bay Ontario. This morning we carried on to our final destination, Elk Lake Ontario. This place is even further north than where Charlie (e-fish'n-c) lives. Nice place. Seems to rain a lot and the sceaters are man eaters. Can't sit outside. No TV. Internet is hit and miss. Thank goodness for pretty blonds and satellite radio. If it stops raining tomorrow, I guess the next thing to do is catch minnows in order to catch something bigger???? This should be interesting. Stay tuned.

Seems like it's working OK again. The dielectric grease in the connector has made a difference. I need to run a couple of tanks of gas to be sure.

I have them and like them very much. Sound is great. I find that when I wear them for about 3 or 4 hours they do start to make my ears hurt a little.

Having some issues with my gas gauge on the '06. It all seems to have started after my last trip when I had the magnetic tank bag attached but that just might be a coincidence. Never had an issue with the tank bag on the '03. The gauge won't show full anymore, always one bar down and after about 50 miles or so it reads all over the map. Some times no bars will show at all and some times it will read anywhere from nothing to 3/4. The low fuel light and count down meter seem to be still working but I don't trust it. Had to start using the reserve valve again just in case. I don't remember reading about anyone having issues with the gas gauge before. My have to go for my first warranty job on this bike.

Burgers EH! And here we were going by on the 403 right about lunch time too. Thought you would have been out riding for sure since you had a day off of work. Passed someone on an antique, I mean first gen, on the 403 heading west but he didn't reply to my call on the CB.

Well, talk about an unplanned trip. When we got up on Monday morning it was still raining and the forecast for the NE wasn't good. Washed out roads, more rain, hail, who needs it. So we just decided to go south and cut back through NY and go home. Had the rain gear on about 80% of the way back but only got wet a couple of times. Stopped to eat when the sky looked bad and dodged a couple of big ones. All in all, a good trip. Went to Maine, ate lobster, came home.

Well we turned east out of the driveway and just kept going. We are now just south of Bar Harbour Maine. It started to pour so we took a room for the night. Hope it clears up tomorrow. It's been a great trip up til now. We got a good look at the ocean yesterday but an hour later the fog rolled in and it's been over cast and rainy ever since. Oh well. Depending on the weather we're heading north and maybe ride around the Gaspe before heading back home.
