Heated gear -controller mounting?

My controller has a belt clip and I just attach it to my jeans pocket or chaps. I find it too hard to reach on my belt. Depending on the outside temp. I do make frequent adjustments plus I like to turn it off when riding slow in town.- 13 replies

RSV and Gerbing Electric Jackets?
Gary N. replied to Oldslow's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Just got the second jacket at Christmas for Mary. No problem so far but I don't have a volt meter on the bike so I'm just guessing. So far so good. -
Spark Plug Removal???
Gary N. replied to Jason's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I think all I ever used was a 3/8" drive deep socket. Tip: Use a short piece of 5/16 or 3/8 fuel line to re-install the plug instead of trying to use the socket. Less chance of a cross thread. Just push the plug into the hose and use the hose to start the plug. -
RSV and Gerbing Electric Jackets?

Tail/brake light is plug and play but the turn signals need load resisters (I think that's the name) for the flasher to work. -
RSV and Gerbing Electric Jackets?
Gary N. replied to Oldslow's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
We have two Gerbings jackets with thermostats, passing lights with standard bulbs on all the time, and stock stator. I have an LED tail light and the HD licence plate lights. No troubles yet but to be safe I'd like to upgrade the stator. I also try to remember to turn the jackets off or turn the t-stats down when driving at slower speeds. -
I've ordered several sets of tires from Southwest Moto Tire over the years and have always been pleased with the price and the service. In anticipation of needing a new set before our trip this summer I thought I would order a set while I'm here in San Diego so I'd have them ready. Ordered yesterday morning and they arrived this afternoon. Here's a pic of me hauling them over to my trailer.

Delphi forums http://www.delphiforums.com/ has a great one for the "Road Star Riders" It's almost as good as Venture Rider dot org. Tons of tech info and guys who really know their stuff re. the Road*.

Yup, been there, done that and bought the tee shirt and dragon stickers to prove it.

I sold my Roadstar, MM1153, to a fellow in eastern Ontario who also had a MM Venture. We were at first going to do a deal on a swap but that didn't work out so he just bought my bike outright. I know that he owned both bikes for a while but has since sold both and bought a HD.

They tell me that Bud Light Lime is a "Girly beer". Is that true?

Another vote here for geothermal. Expensive initial investment but relatively quick payback and very efficient. It's got to get real cold and windy before I see the heat strips come on.

That was before Vegas. And yes I had to back up a mile and a half. And the road wasn't straight either.

Well, not exactly. We'll be coming home from here via Texas by the end of March. Then we'll be heading back west in June. We did however travel a little bit of Route 66. About 1 1/2 miles or so to a dead end with no place to turn around. This was near Albuquerque NM. Remember I'm driving a 40' RV with the bike trailer in tow. Ask Mary how she likes walking behind the Shuttle for 1 1/2 miles, pitch black, 28*, giving me directions on the walkie talkie. It's a long story.

Sounds good to us Rod. You pick the day.

Unfortunately we won't be making it to MD this year or the International rally. We will be heading to Alaska about the first week of June.

Thank you Rod and buddy Phil for a great day. The weather was perfect, the country side was beautiful and the traffic was.....not what I'm used too.

Had some trouble with the first pair I got and my doctor suggested lowering he bifocal part 2mm. That solved it for me. Like others said though you still have to move your head to find the sweet spot.
