    Starglide

I like the look of what you guys are calling the Starglide but went with the RSV for all the space. Otherwise I would still have the saddle bags and screen on my Warrior. FLB who on the forum's is that?
  3. Wasn't sure what I wanted so I went cheap. Went with the bikemaster peg. Now I'm glad I did as they were exactly what I wanted for a highway peg. You can see them here although I bought them at a local shop for the same price. http://www.bikerbuys.com/Motorcycle_Accessories/Details/BikeMaster-O-Ring-Footpeg.htm
  4. Karma, ain't it a *****.:rotf: I feel sorry for you Thom, I'm right there with you when it comes to kids which means I'm never growing a white beard.
  5. So much for buying anything until that question gets resolved.
  6. Hey Goose what type of pump are you using for the front? I can't seem to find one that brakes it down to increments smaller than 5 pounds so mine has a 5 pound setting and 10 and my gauge I used seems to lower it just by placing it on.
  7. Different strokes for different folks. At this point in my life I can't see me towing a trailer behind my bike, just wouldn't feel like riding to me. With that said, 3 years ago I would have never thought I'd be riding on what I used to call a geezer glide while I was riding my R1. Then came the Warrior for a little slower riding, the R1 riding was getting out of hand, and still no tourer in sight. Last year I tried to pack everything I needed on the Warrior to ride from FL to NC for a week and lo and behold the RSV idea was born. Now on long rides I can't figure how I survived without the RSV and I still have the Warrior for the around town riding. As people change so do their needs.
  8. Except for making them yourself I have not seen them any cheaper. Believe it or not that is about the average price for links for other bikes also. If you want a set that is like new I have a set in the classified section.
  9. Actually just look at the color. The stock bones have a greenish grey tint where the levelers are stainless with SAE bolts. The levelers center to center are 6.5", they're sitting on the desk in front of me. If you are looking for a set let me know.
  10. Anyone else look a little further down the other articles that said Harley davidson stock was up because of the possibility of Honda Motor Corp buying it?
  11. Eyebrows came off quick with dental floss. Cut right thru most of the double sided tape and then Goof Off made short work of the little bit of adhesive that was left.
  12. I also installed the Diamond R leveling links on mine and can say they did make a difference in handling. However I like the slammed look and since there is no chance in the near future of me pulling a trailer I am going to lower mine with the barons kit and sliding the fork tubes. Anyone interested in a set of links I have mine in the classified section.
  13. Looks like the Yamaha light.
  14. Thanks. Could you let me know how much shipping is to 34746.
  15. RoyalT any way you could post a pic from the side?
  16. I fall back to my Warrior mods. I replaced the air intake with a much better one, replace the exhaust with a two into one and had the bike custom mapped on the dyno. Went from 76 rwhp stock to 91 rwhp modded. thats 15 rwhp gain and way less than 1200.00. For what they are charging and doing it seems impossible for them to gain that much. Like it or not, FI is more efficient and easier to tune and I couldn't get that type of gain on the Warrior.
  17. You wouldn't know the part number or anything would you? I am going to powdercoat it black so rust isn't a problem.
  18. Thanks everyone, that is what I was looking for. The first picture by kbran was the rack I saw but it didn't have Yamaha or the Star brand anywheres and looks completely different in the picture on the Yamaha site. Rodburner they actually came out with the black cherry one this year because the 08 has a black cherry trunk also. States it is for the '06 and '08.
  19. I wanted to get the trunk rack for the RSV but I am also looking at the spoiler/rear light for the trunk. It looks like in the picture that the trunk rack from Yamaha is too low and might interfere but I can't find a dealer with one in stock locally to check. I did see a rack on a Venture that would work but could not find a name on it and could not find the rider. Does anyone here have both or know of a luggage rack that will work with the spoiler?
  20. I am thinking about going ahead and ordering the baron's lowering kit. My question is did you notice a change in travel? Did the bike bottom out? Are you dragging hard parts in the curves? I think I would really like the looks of the bike with this kit and sliding the forks in the trees. Height for me really isn't the issue, it's looks, but I want to know the draw backs before I do it. Thanks.
  21. Yeah you guys are definitely worrying me with all this "I dropped my bike" talk. I am going to make a list of those I shouldn't park next to.
  22. From reading on the forum I found out that by raising the back end so it was level I would get better low speed handling. I did that with the Diamond R links but I'm not happy with how tall it looks. It does handle great it's just looks I don't like. I have also read that people have lowered it with the Barons kit and then slid the forks in the trees to match. My question is has anyone left the back end stock and just lowered the front to match? I am sure I will probably go with the barons in the future, I like the lowered look, but figured this might help drivability at lower speeds and look a little better. Question two is aftermarket accessories. I have looked and am amazed at the amount of things you can't find for the RSV anyplace but Yamaha. I am looking right now for a trunk luggage rack that will fit with the spoiler/tailight from Yamaha you put on the trunk. I saw one on a Venture but could not find a name on it and could not track down the rider. It looks to me like the Yamaha one would be too short and possibly interfere with the spoiler/taillight.
  23. Mine was given to me about 12 years ago while I was racing a FZR 1000. One of the guys at the track kept yelling that the guy on the FZR was wicked fast. He said it so much a few of the other guys started to mimic him and it just kinda stuck after a few weeks. I had a personal plate made that said WIKDFZR and spelled it wikd because of the amount of letters allowed and WIKD has been around ever since.
  24. Ouch!!!! Been there done that and have the t-shirt. Heal up quick.
