  1. I have both an '86 & '87 TCI unit with coils. If you are interested, let me know, 'kay? POLEDAR:sun1:
  2. I appreciate the wish for security while traveling, but perhaps this is one time to leave it home. An alternative is to check out a bus station storage locker or ask the local police where you debark from if they will hold it for you. Good luck!
  3. In case you don't get the one on EBay, I have one for sale for $100.
  4. Don, Prayers come your way for recovery, but remember that it is pushing the grass down that is important (as opposed to pushing the daisies UP!). All the best for comfortable days ahead and more riding once the docs are done with you. Bill aka Poledar
  5. Spray a LOT of WD-40 into the boot around the sidestand switch, until it flows out. Work it a few dozen times and spray some more. That should do it. Good luck! POLEDAR
  6. I have a bracket. Make me an offer keeping in mind that I am looking to buy a ZR-! Corvette ($122,000) with the proceeds *evil grin*. Not really--just make me a reasonable offer and plan on paying actual shipping charges extra. POLEDAR:stirthepot:
  7. I have that switch available. Make me an offer and plan on you paying the shipping on top of what we agree to. I am just clearing out parts and not looking to get rich on parts, so take a chance! POLEDAR:301:
  8. I have one from an '86 that you can try. I will send it to you, and if it works, send me $25 + shipping charges. Poledar
  9. I have an '86 black and silver or gold or whatever it was, with trunk rack. I have no use for it, so $50 + shipping and it's yours if you want it. Poledar
  10. Mini, If you need to get away, we have a spare bed down here in Longs, SC and are supposed to be sunny and lovely all weekend. Hop on the Venture and come on down. It would be a good excuse to see you and the Muffinman again anyway. Poledar:santa:
  11. I did a hip resurfacing on both hips in April 2007, and by late May 2007, I was riding my scooter, and the Venture within 3 months. Every one of us is unique is our recovery, so do the therapy they tell you to RELIGIOUSLY and the time will go by quickly until you can be back aboard. We can all understand you hate not riding, but imagine how much you might hate having to undergo surgery a second time! Best of luck and may the recovery be short and successful!!! POLEDAR:fiddle:
  12. Don, Best wishes for a successful surgery and rapid recovery! Remind the Docs that there are 1,000's of us who will land on their doorsteps if they screw up!!! Bill Darling aka POLEDAR:cop:
  13. Jeff, Welcome back...glad you survived the sand box. Now you can survive the last of summer heat!!! Hope to see you once you get settled back in and decide what to do with the rest of your life!! POLEDAR:thumbsup2:
  14. I'll give you $100 for the 125cc.....IF YOU DELIVER!!!! Travel in pleasure from now on to home!!! Then ride in leisure!!!
  15. I have an entire top panel for an '86. Color is wrong but it is complete and yours for $25 + shipping. POLEDAR:fingers-crossed-emo
  16. I am 67, and have my 5th First Gen--one Mk I and 4 Mk II's. Love the bikes, have over 200,000 on Ventures, and ride as often as I can, work on mine when I can figure it out!!!
  17. Please keep me updated on the situation with the charges being filed against the SUV driver. The AMA works on legislation to get us "equal" footing in cases like this;i.e. driver of a cage gets the same charges in wrongful death of a motorcyclist as one in another cage. Thanks POLELDAR
  18. Hey y'all, I don't necessarily advocate separate and favoring legislation to cover bikers differently than cagers. What I do want to see is equal application of the law as opposed to the lesser application which is often the case now. There are far too many accidents where the biker dies, and the apathy is such that the perpetrator gets off with either a slap on the wrist or less. If there was equal punishment for those who drive a car and kill a biker, I wouldn't need to write this nor would the AMA have to fight for wording in legislation to cover us. POLEDAR:12101:
  19. I have forwarded that information to the American Motorcycle Association. They have people working on legislation to insure that anyone who kills a motorcyclist is not let off scot free, but punished according to the details of the incident. They have caused several states to enact such legislation and some successful court cases have been the result. Please join their organization if you can/will, or at least forward any information like this to their email address. Find them at ama-cycle.org Poledar AMA #221856, 27 years a member
  20. Good on you for not getting hurt anymore than you did! Keep those morning prayers up....sounds like a great idea, especially with those four wheelers on the road! Hope your healing process is short! POLEDAR:301:
  21. Check Mustang and Corbin. They make seats for just about every bike out there! Happy sitting!!! Poledar:fingers-crossed-emo
  22. Aces to Dan for passing that course! Now he is ready to learn how to ride! I taught that for 10 years and have had contact with many of my students after the course was completed. It's a great way to learn the basics and get some of the "fears" that a lack of knowledge can present. Many happy years of riding together to the both of you!!! POLEDAR
  23. I believe that fading you refer to is the taillights in your far forward view as you "attempt" to keep up with them, either on the straightaway or through the twisties!!!
  24. Trade that beast for a first gen...they NEVER die!!!!
  25. 41 days and counting? Hell, Jeff, you are so short you need a ladder to get into your boots! Looking forward to seeing you again, and hearing some stories of your play time "over there". Looking forward, too, to some riding. This solo riding around here beats not riding, but having folks of similar bent and interest makes it all much better. Keep clicking those days off and we will see you soon! Poledar
