  1. I'd give the wheel bearings a thoroughly going over. Sounds like to me while going straight they're making noise but when leaned over the bearings are being loaded up differently thus taking away the noise and vibrations. Above 30mph you probably can't hear them. Raise the front wheel off the ground and the place one hand on the axle shaft and then spin the wheel with the other. you may feel or hear the bearings acting up then. Good luck Larry
  2. Sounds interesting. May well join in on the fun and will keep an eye for further info on this M&E Larry
  3. Ended up reserving our room at Cody Cowboy Village. See ya all there at Cody Larry
  4. Since when was you last "39" Dan? Many a moon me thinks. Larry
  5. When I first triked my bike I was running the smaller Avon tire. It wasn't long before I replaced it with a stock Bridgstone in the 150 size. This tire was given to me (used tire) so went ahead and used it and got some decent milage out of it before it gotten cupped to bad. When I replaced that tire last spring/early summer I bought a rear Bridgstone in the stock size. So far I like that on the trike as it appears to be wearing well, tracks great in the rain, etc. Currently I think I have just under 8k on it with no noticable wear. I may try a radial type next go around if I find a tire I like, meaning good water sheding thread, just to see how it handles with radials front and rear. Bottom line at this point for me is I would be totally happy with another Bridgstone rear tire again up front. One other point some trikers do is reverse the rotation of the tires. I've mounted mine in the normal direction with the thought that water is shed better. I've never had a traction problem yet regardless of how much rain we've ridden in. Larry NOTE: I stand corrected on the tire brand I'm currently using. It's a Dunlop 404 rear tire NOT a Bridgestone brand. The previous tire was a Bridgestone thou and was a conventional front tire.
  6. Yep the brackets are available still. Here's a link to the ad in the classifieds -- http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=2770&title=stebel-horn-bracket&cat=7 as well as my other items - http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showcat.php?cat=500&ppuser=161 Larry
  7. Bumping this back up so the planning commitee might see it. To those who it concerns on the planning commitee if there needs more time for finalizing a host hotel then that's fine. I just want to get my room booked early so I'll have choices for ammenities, etc. Larry
  8. Congratulations Jeff. I know we talked about you doing this before but though you was going to go back to the sand box 1 more time. Once was enough I guess. LOL Anyhow I'm wishing you the best of luck with your new business venture. Larry
  9. Quote: I'm not by any stretch of the imagination saying to be stupid and ride like an idiot, but when your number is called, it doesn't matter whether you're getting out of bed getting your slippers on, or whether you're running downhill next to an accelerating big rig. Life's too short, don't sweat the small stuff. While that's true we certainly don't need to temp fate by being careless or taking undue chances like riding besides a truck rig for any distance. Larry
  10. Has there been a host hotel(s) chosen yet for the 2011 Int rally next year? I've seen numerous posts where folks have already booked sites at the campground and at the State park but no mention of hotels for the rest of us folks. Larry
  11. Gary sorry to hear of Mother in laws health problems. Prayers forthcoming for her, you, and family. Glad you are a working again too. Larry
  12. Bikes can be replaced/repaired. Glad you & Mrs. were able to walk away from the mishap with realitively minor injuries. Heal fast and go shopping. Larry

  14. Good thoughts and Prayers sent. Wishing them the best in dealing with their problem(s). Larry
  15. How about the complete light assembly? I have both left & right side turn lights I took off when I triked the bike. Larry
  16. If you do decide to buy my bracket I will guarantee that it'll last the life of your bike. No cracking or breakage with my stainless steel bracket or a full refund. Seriously I've had my bracket for over 4 yrs now and it still looks like the day I put it on. There is some slight rust on the under side as I don't polish that side but that has no effect on strength of the bracket. Larry
  17. Best of luck with the healing process Don. Continued thoughtd & prayers till you get thru all of this. Larry
  18. WOW. That's certainly no way to start your day let alone a trip. The only good thing was it happened at home and you were able to fix the problem thou temporarly. Hope the rest of your trip goes smoothly. Larry
  19. You can always e-mail them.
  20. Ya that. Larry
  21. Done. Keep us informed if there's not enough funds to cover the expenses of getting the bike fixed. If I was closer I'd also offer up my mechanic services. Now that we're on the road to fixing up the bike it's time for Lowell to concentrate on doing the same. Get well soon friend. Larry
  22. I'm in once I know where to send off the funds. larry
  23. Maytag washer & dryer here. We have the Epic Z series which are front loading with the dryer mounted above the washer. The soap & water useage is very low (1/4?), don't know but for a fact my water bills are less. Have had them 2 years now and not a problem yet. Previous washer/dry was Maytag as well and had them for some 20 plus years. great service with very little maintance over the years. Larry
  24. Glad you finally found the problem and it should now preform as it should. Yep the Squid comes thru once again for our members here. Way to go Brad. Larry BTW: I don't think I've ever seen an axle that far off before. It's no wonder tires were being shreded so fast.
