  1. Finally had gotten around to take pics of my set up. Volt meter on left bullet cup & tack on right cup. Larry
  2. Ok here's a couple pics of the Kruzer Kaddy as mounted on my bike. Picture #2 & #3 is with full lock left of the bars. Pics #5 & #6 are the passenger drink holder. There's about 2 1/2" from the bottom of the cup holder when wheel is straight to top of tank and when in a full lock left I have about 1 1/4" clearance there. Note that I have Flanders bars on so a stock bar could be a bit closer in left locked position. Larry
  3. I'd 2nd Tripod here. Safety is of the utmost importance here. Switching to grade 8 bolts was a wise decision as well. Larry
  4. I can help with that wiring as well. I 2nd Dano on switching plugs too. Larry
  5. Yep that'll make go home and changer your shorts. Glad the outcome was what it was. May of even be a blessing that you didn't have any reaction time. Slamming on brakes or swerving may not of been a favorable thing to happen. Larry
  6. Saw this on the Trike talk fourm so wanted to share it here. Enjoy. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gD78rTF0Rjo]YouTube - The "Jiffy" Crew[/ame]
  7. Wouldn't be you would it? Larry
  8. Thanks for sharing. It's always a pleasure to see where our members have been. With those of who couldn't be there and even when we are we can relive those good times. Larry
  9. I've taken several off and while taking the battery box out would be easier to access that top bolt I never have. Just reach up with a pair of long handled wrenches and go to it. No time at all and you're done. One thing you'll need to do is get the bike up as far as possible on the jacks or one of my lift adapters with legs. It's then easier getting under the bike to do the job. Also it helps to have a regular floor type jack to put under the rear wheel. You raise or lower the jack as needed to be able to slide out the bolts once the nuts are off. When putting the nuts back on you should put a drop of thread locker on the bolts. Even thou the nuts are self locking types they do lose their grip some after being on/off a couple times. It's just extra insurance to do so to keep Murphy away.. Larry
  10. I use the Kruzer Kaddy drink holders on my bike. http://www.kruzerkaddy.net/products.html Have one mounted on the left bar and another on the right arm rest for the Mrs. Both are the leater covered versions. I'll dig up a pic and add it here later. Larry
  11. Michigan has that same law or close to it. Maybe 16" from seat to highest part of handle bars. As other types of laws like this it's enforced selectively. While some local leo's ignore it others may not. I have a friend who has a bobber style and was busted twice in the UP by State officers. Another friend had a Road Glide with high bars and never was questioned by the same officer while citing the other friend. Go figure that one out. LOL Larry
  12. I suggest getting that auxilary fuel tank as well. Yea I know it's pricey but you'll be glad to have it when out riding. Especialy on trips of any distance where fuels stops may be questionable. You can stop when YOU want to stop and not when the bike dictates it. You'll be another happy triker once you get set up and rolling. Larry
  13. I belive that once you put Ride-On in it's there for the life of the tire. Larry
  14. If I recall correctly it was a small block 350 Chevy engine with auto trans. Larry
  15. I'm with ya all the way on this. You can increase the sound without losing performance and hearing and still make the bikes sound good. Like most laws on the books there's others already there covering these situations that just need enforcing. Larry
  16. I've seen that trike before. 3 years ago at a Trike Riders International rally in Mo. It actually won 1st place in the custom trike category. Larry
  17. I should mention that my speedo is reading calibrated speeds now too so that alone will show lower mpgs. Larry
  18. I saw this today on the web and thou I don't think it would concern most of us I know it could effect some here. Larry http://portal.wowway.net/news/read.php?rip_id=%3CD9I6VPMO0%40news.ap.org%3E&ps=1011
  19. I think that's about what I get towing the trailer. I do avg around 32-34 as a rule. The Hannigan also runs a lower gearing thus effecting it. 3:73 on the Hannigan opposed to 3:42 on the Tri-Wing which means at 70 you'll be running about another 250 rpm's. Larry
  20. Awesome and mighty nice of you to do that for that family. Tipping my hat to you sir. Larry
  21. Don don't forget to let us know when traveling thru s.e. Mich. Any day, any time is good. Man talk about a road warrior. You probably could put some OTR truckers to shame what with all the traveling you do. Larry
  22. I agree with what the guys here have said so far. As far as I know Hannigan and Tri-Wing are the two companies doing trike conversions for the Ventures. The differences are: Hannigan is dealer installed deal only. It has independant suspension, a bit more storage space, and now offers an auxilary gas tank. Tri-Wing can be installed be either the owner or have a dealer do the job. It has a solid Ford axle, and more traditonal body styling. No auxilary fuel tank that I know of but I built my own. You can save yourself a lot of money doing the work yourself if you're a capable wrencher. As said neither have reverse but you'll learn quite quickly where and how to park. And whichever conversion one decides to use by all means rake the front trees. Larry
  23. Sounds to me like the buddy is just trying to make him see the light. Do you want to spend all your time fixing or riding? He best be carefull offering up his ride too. Might not get it back anytime soon. Larry
  24. Too bad the route they're taking wasn't closer to me. Would love to see them myself. Larry
  25. I could see using that type of car wash to get the bike clean but for sure I wouldn't be siting on it either. Park the bike and get off, let the machine do the job and then ride it out. Larry
