  1. Rake kits for the RSV can be had from Steerite http://www.sidecars.ca/steerite.htm and maybe others. I forget just what mine cost but they're not cheap thou. I have this on my trike and it made a huge difference in head shake going over bumps and pot holes in the road. You could check with Hannigan and see who does their raked trees as well. Another point to consider is the steering neck bearings. They need to be tighter then what Yamaha calls for in the manuals torque setting. Steeright suggests 25 ft lbs on the stem nut. Larry
  2. Sorry to hear this Randy. Some things happen beyound our control and about all one can do then is roll with the punches life throws at ya. Maybe you could convince the renters to leave a few weeks earlier? Larry
  3. Nice badge there Annie. Will the International ones you're making be the same only having Internaional Rally on top? Larry
  4. I think so but then I haven't been out but once so far and then never got over 55-60 mph. This crazy weather is keeping it in the garage thus far. I'll give you an update once I can get out on a freeway. I really don't expect any problem thou. Larry
  5. I too have a heavy heart reading this kind of news. My thoughts and prayers go out to family and friends of this young man. Larry
  6. Ummm guys did you not check the date of this trip?? Larry
  7. Hey Joe. I'm planning on meeting Randy & Ian sometime Friday morning and then contiue on to Don's from wherever we decide to meet at. Probably at the truck stop on exit 15 by Monroe off of I-75. I tossed out an invite to TJ as well in another post here. Will try to get a hold of Al later as well and anyone else who plans on going done on Friday. Larry
  8. Don't hold your breath Don I do like em but sure can't justify their prices. Larry
  9. He was gone? Thought it wa pretty quite around here lately? Now we know Larry PS: Yammer I just seen where ya been having health problems with the gut. Sorry to hear that. Praying you'll find out the cause and get on the mend soon.
  10. Tom here's their link to the website as well -- http://www.qualityinn.com/hotel-elyria-ohio-OH086?&promo=gcioh086 We'll be heading down on friday with a couple of the Canadian's. You're welcome to joing us if you want regardless where you decide to stay. Larry
  11. Today I went to the HF store near me to check out their lift tables. Had one in stock & on the floor display. It was a foot operated hydraulic system & rated at 1,000 lbs. selling for $500. Got home and decided to do a web search to see what's out there. WOW a lot to choose from. Prices seem to run about $500 to $1000 with most lift tables rated at the 1,000lb rate. A few in that price range even went to 15-1600 lb ratings. I also found 1 company that had a 2000lb rated lift table. No idea on price of that one as you have to call the company for pricing. On another note I was even entertaining the idea of a auto low-mid rise scissor lift that I could use for my cars as well as the trike & other bikes. :mo money: Larry
  12. Just when we thought winter was done for the year we are now getting/going to get 2-4" of that crap once again before noon tomorrow. I know some folks have had way more snow then us here in southern Michigan but really enough is enough I say. Larry
  13. While there may be some merit to this device I'll 2nd Straycatt. To me this falls into the same category as the new cars that will parallel park your car for you. Practice makes perfect. Larry
  14. Well since ya put it that way. Ya I guess so Larry
  15. Vic used a Tri-Wing body but fabed up the running gear himself. Correct me if I'm wrong Vic. Larry
  16. Well done Vic. I know you've been working on this project for a while. Glad to see it finished as I'm sure you are too. How well does the reverse work? Larry
  17. poor kid for sure. he'll likely be a pancake before getting home. As to the biker with apes that's just outrageous. It wouldn't be illegal here in Michigan. State law says 16" from grips to top of drivers seat. Thou it's not enforced much except for a perhaps State police. Larry
  18. I replaced the stock levers for the ones sold at JCW. I think they do come back a bit futher then the stock ones do. Due mostly to the flatness of them and possibly the curve of them. I'll check measurements tomorrow. I do wear a large size glove so haven't really had a problem like some of you folks. I also agree that these bikes should have adjustable levers on both sides. Like many others here I had a Suzuki Volusia with the adjustable levers, neat feature. Larry
  19. Smart choice Kat. You guys will really enjoy that ride. I had an 01 for 5 years prior to getting my RSV. Have fun & be safe Larry
  20. I never owned a bike with a windshield till I bought a Suzuki and put one on it. For me it was all about that certain comfort level without feeling beat to death on long rides, especially on the highway. Currently I have a extra tall Clearview w/vent. While I would prefer a shorter shield to see over, my pillon passenger says otherwise. So it's all about keeping momma happy too. Even with a windshield/fairing combo I still feel plenty of circulating air. It's just not blasting on me constantly. Larry
  21. You wouldn't necessarily need to toss it in a bag. Just flip it over so that the decal is on the bottom out of view. Larry
  22. If that bike runs as good as it looks you did well indeed. It's a keeper for sure. Larry
  23. Looks good to me Boss, now that the flood is over. LOL Larry
  24. If that's the bolt that also holds the front of the tank in position this this is the part # - 91317-06035-00 The other screw is a plastic push in type. I couldn't find a part number for that one thou. You should be able to take the right side screw to a local hardware store & get a replacement Larry
  25. Ya I saw that too and was going to send Don a post/pm but had to run for a doc appointment. I'm sure Don will catch and fix that gremlin or is it one of Boomer's pygmies? Larry
