    You might want to check the charging ability. i am not up on that but someone will prolly jump in and tell you. I am going to assume the battery cable connections are clear and tight. Regardless if it is the stator or not, as you own a first gen, contact TupperJ about a new set of cables (thicker and not 20 years old) and look into an Odyssey battery (PC680). I make no profit on the suggestions, you will as I have when I added them to mine. If that battery was that low, chances are it is toast and just not wanting to take much of a charge anymore and cannot deliver what is requested of it anymore.

    That's easy, LA is in California, just above Orange County and below Magic Mountain. ha ha, yea right, I know I know.

    Since I have a CLASS and no air chuck in the hole up in the middle of the handle bars (also had no idea there isn ormally a plug in that hole), I dremeled the hole out just a bit and slid a fake billet toggle switch in there. Works out perty good and gave that useless hole something to do.

    What kind of iPod? The ones with hard drives cannot handle the jolts on the bike. If it does have a hard drive, pick up a 2nd gen shuffle or one that does not use a hard drive. I use a 2nd gen shuffle as my 1st gen was giving up (ok, I know it is coming, lol). The shuffle hangs on the lower bar below the volume controller real well.

    Ok, now on the right post. What plastic am I looking at here? 22, 25 & 30, anything else? I picked the 87 model, I could not see it on the 85, figured they were the same. Is there a year that does not have what looks like a hand held mic slot/holder on the top cover (if what I am seeing is what I am seeing)?

    I got the CB, now I need to insert it and plug it in I guess. I see in the manual (MKII) that the CB is in the bottom and the CLASS is above it. I can see how that would let you still have the coolant bottle there. The hole where the CLASS is looks too big to put the CB into. Is there a totally different plastic cover that goes there? If so, anyone got one? (MasterGuns?). I also see the plug-in coming from it. Should there be something on my wiring harness for this to plug into? Or does this go directly to the left handlebar controller with the PPT? I do not have one of these either, will need to obtain one. There looks to be a bracket or something that two bolts go into on the CB. I don't have that either. Is there a place that would have the 5-pin cable (I guess 5-pin) that would go from the CB to the amplifier? I know, I am in a small world of hurt. Help?

    Glad you made it upright there JB. Been there, almost done that. Well, I did not stay upright when that happened to me on a 72 Kawasaki 750 H2 I had bought 20 minutes earlier as a teen. Bent the bars back and rode her the next morning. Glad this thing is back on track, not that it wasn't. This should be a great time!

    You got a trailer with yours? I think the stealer I got mine from took the trailer hitch off and I think i was lucky to get the the front airdam from them. He handed it to me off of the bike. I also paid like $3200 to $3600 for mine, can't quite remember. I think the side one are in excess of about $70. Oh yea, they told me the slight pull to the left was normal for the bike, lol.

    i think I got mine at flatout. In fact i got the two upper vents, two lower vents and one side. need to do the other side too. The side ones are pricey.

    Someone had a some clip idea in the last few weeks. it was either taht or new ones. I went with new ones.

    He is hooked and he ain't quite realized it yet. Once you become family you can't leave no matter what you ride. We have plenty of wings, beemers and even a few of what you ride in addition to many other makes and models (There is a guy here that has a '72 Kawasaki H2). People on here may have started with a Venture and found they needed to change, they are still here! When a ride, M&E or some kind of event happens, join in and make sure to bring that perty XS Eleven Special along with you. Your ride will be noticed in an admirable and good way. So, sorry, too late, you made too much of an impression to say bye!

    I have ever only had a K&N filter on my bike, it came with it when I got it in 94.

    I see no real airflow through mine. I have replaced the air vents and the plastic fairing pieces that they set into (not the vent pipes) with new ones from yammy. So, they should still be available if you want to go that route.
