  1. I'll be leaving about 6:00 pm for the skid Inn. It should take about 20 minutes to get there. No wait I'll be hungry better make that a 10 minute trip.
  2. Dan all them parts makes a good retirement nest egg. First gens are more valuable then gold. Fast to!
  3. First Gen business that is. Is it just me or have you noticed? First gen prices for scoots and parts are going high on Ebay compared to last year.Maybe the first gen reputation is getting around thanks to the site.
  4. That front is headed my way. The creek just recently dropped to a safe crossing level with the scoots. I got to get the 89 and 84 out of here by Wednesday evening. Were camping at the camp for the Skid Inn weekend. I just got the yard cleaned up and that fence repair done. I made fire wood out of that locust. Now where is the hot dogs?
  5. Looks like a familiar spot.
  6. Forcast for Skid Inn looking good. I'll probably ride in the back of the pack. I want to try out my glare filters in these transitions lenses. It should be a sunny weekend and all that slow moving harley look a like chrome in front of me. You know that waxed buffed and shiny second gen type. Come to think of it I bet Skid has been waxing that 86 for a month to.:stirthepot::rotf:
  7. Them benefit's have changed there looks over the last 26 years. Price gone up to!:rotf:
  8. As long as the money gets here he's fine. :rotf::rotf: Margaret Sounds like the same deal I got. Freedom with a price!:mo money:
  9. Randya your lucky to have the video. Sad part you may still lose. Insurance co might total and pay book value around $1200. Thats what our local dmv said my 84 was worth for taxes purposes with only 17 K on it. Keep us posted on your progress.
  10. Might check that trunk better. He may of took that pen and wrote a check for a year of gasoline. The way Muffinman rides that could be 3 or 4K.
  11. 750 still running?
  12. I'll probably camp next weekend and work on scoots. I still got several trees to cut up from wind damage. Might take a ride down your way next Sunday if you need some help.
  13. Thanks Cindy I forgot what day it was. We just got home late last night from the beach. Still trying to unpack.
  14. We need to haul about 4 up to the Skid Inn and get something running.Got several wrenches coming in. So when we leaving?I can get about 6 on the 16 ft trailer easier to load to.
  15. Yea the metal stem. I was hoping for a quick fix without breaking down the tire. So far so good checking the air pressure before every ride. A water bottle sprayed around the stem just show some light leakage around the lock nuts.
  16. I found and fixed the air leak in that new front tire. It was a valve stem. I tried tightening the two lock nuts but no luck. I had to loosen both nuts and push the stem down in the rim. Blowed out some hard white chaulky stuff may have been some form of old tire sealant. Rotated the stem about 90 degrees and retighten now that new front tire is holding pressure. OK next problem that new rear Yammer Dan and I installed last fall is leaking around it's valve stem about 2 lb a day. I'll try the same fix on it. Check those valve stems for slow leaks.
  17. My call screener sends most everything to the voice mail. No more 800 #'s, blocked id callers, and all out of state numbers hit the voicemail. Don't even ring the phone.
  18. I said this earlier but my sunset ride with MamaMo was so slow. She fell asleep on the bike last night.
  19. I'm glad I have a strong second gear. Thats about all I get to use down here.Hwy 12 is the only hwy on Hatteras Island and one of the most heavly patroled roads I've been on.No such thing as a little test run here. The speed limit is 35 mph through most towns with some 25 mph limits. A few stretches between towns are 45-55mph and not 56mph. It was fun ridng after dark last night. Some body got pulled over right beside of me. The instrument lights have a bad connection in the dash and my speedometer light kept going off so hard to see the guages. This is the only place I have ever got 44 mpg on the Red Baron. It would be nice to out run the mosquitoes. For now it's practice chuging through town like the harleys do.Not cool getting passed by a moped.
  20. Gas prices on the Outerbanks was $3.87 and up for reg unleaded that was Saturday. Now I found one place for $3.999 and he said he was the cheapest because he never raised his pricing yet. His neighbor right across the street went to $4.15 gal. We normally come home broke. Now we might not get home.:confused24:Actually it's hard to believe but gas in WV because of taxes is higher back home.
  21. Lots of smoke across the water to my west. MiniMuffin are you baking my pies?:rotf: Maybe MuffinMan can deliver one on that new first gen!
  22. 100 degree heat when we got here saturday. Were still under heat advisories here on the outer banks. Got the word from home this morning a neighbors boy died from heat exhaustion yesterday.
  23. Stealing signal from a couple houses down. Not enough bandwidth to upload pictures. I took MamaMo for a nice sunset ride down to see the cape hatteras light house at night. She fell asleep on the back of the 84. Guess I need to make those pipes louder.
  24. I'm glad Dan got to make it. Conflict of schedules for us. Hopefully next year the WV group can ride up.
  25. Sweet looking ride. I can't wait to see it. Now maybe the blonde can see some down time for a little maint. This group is awesome. Were still at Hatteras Island with the only 84 on the beach.
