A local dealer has an '08 RSV for $15,988. This is a demo bike with 4000 km and first service done. Wondering what your thoughts are about this? Is buying a demo risky? Does the price sound good (seems to be for here in Canuck land). If anyone's wondering, we've ruled out buying a new '09 Ultra... just can't work it into our budget so, the search is on for a really good RSV. I found an '05 on Van Island (asking $14000) and an '06 RSMV in Calgary (asking just under $14) that I'm looking into. Considering the price of the '08 and what the guys are asking for the other 2, .... the '08 is tempting.

I know it is early but I am just throwing it out I am going to bike week and gonna set up camp at the Cabbage Patch wondering if anyone else would be interested in making a big camp.

I want to cover the drive shaft, looked @ maybe using a chrome exhaust plate with clamps behind it but haven't committed to that yet ,thought about having it all chromed, but my latest experience with chromers hasn't been so good (whole other story) but I was wondering has anyone tried anything or saw something that might work that one spot has been bothering me for a while so I gotta chrome it -

Where is the gas tank on a first Gen. ??? I am making somthing that will work great for a 2nd Gen, while the tank is off, but not sure if it will be of any help on a first gen... Thanks,

Anyone have any idea how hot it gets where the mufflers join the stock pipes? I put some permatex 1B form a gasket on and I'm wondering if it's going to burn away... 400F limit. Thanks, gp -
I'm a new owner of a 2008 Venture and after reading all the threads on the leveling links, I decided to order a set from Diamond R yesterday. Is there any problem with Yamaha honoring the warranty with this slight suspension mod? I didn't see anything mentioned, but was just wondering if it could be an issue. Great site, I've learned a ton in a short period of time, thanks for any responses. Smith

Just got one...as far as the installation, for those of you that have one, how did you hold it down to the tank? Did you use double sided tape like the stock rubber piece uses? Since back of it is felt I'm thinking that might not hold too well. Or don't tie it down at all? Just wondering...thanks for the info...JR

I've looked in several places for the device that lets you convert the turn signals to brake lights/running lights. I'd like to do that and was wondering what some of you that have done this on here would recommend. Thanks. -

Does anyone have the Hannigan conversion? I'm thinking about having one put on my 02 soon and was looking for comments about the Hannigan or about trikes in general. I was wondering about the steering, will the handlebars return to the neutral position or do you have to pull them back to center?

Hey, with Hanna drawing a bead on the N.C. coast I was wondering if Gene was getting ready for the storm? I know it's a tropical storm, but the winds are still about 65mph. I was just wondering about him and Beer 24/7 since they are in the projected area of land fall. If anyone hears from them please let us know. And if anyone else is in that area let us know about them also.

Has anyone here tried out the Maxxis.com touring tires for the RSV. They look to have a good tread design and strong sidewall and weight capacity. Just looking for info looking to get new tread. Joe

Would there be a Differance in Mufflers

Hi there peoples: I've read here that the road king mufflers are a resonable good choice of muffler to get a better sound from the RSV. Now I am wondering if the H.D.'s FLH would be the same or are these too big for the RSV's. Any help would be greatly appriciated.. Lightnen -
My '85 has a left muffler that's rusted out on it's tip and rather than run down another, I'd like to install a set of 1200 H-D mufflers that are straight-through with surrounding baffles. I'm wondering if not enough back pressure could be an issue. Anyone done any homework on aftermarket exhaust?

I will be working at Ft Dix for a couple of weeks. I usually get the middle Saturday off for important stuff like riding, so was wondering if anyone was in this neck of the woods for grabbing some lunch or something.

I am just a bit confused on the use of this cable. Is this strictly so one can make a phone call using a bluetooth phone? Or does it have another use? I don't have a bluetooth phone and was wondering if it would be of any use to me to get one of those cable. Thanks

Went and road tested a couple Kawasaki Vulcan Nomads on Sat. First one was a '08 .... not a bad price either ( $11,700) brand new. Second one was a '06 for $8,800 ... had 19k km's on it...very clean and the only extras were Vance & Hines slip-on's and nicer hand grips. I like the looks of these scoots and have been toying with the idea of getting one. They were quite comfortable to ride... even Nina was impressed...we both thought they would be considerably rougher. She liked the rumble of the V-twin and the V&H slip-ons. I did find them considerably under powered tho...a lot less than I expected for a 1600cc V-twin and no match... not even close to my VR. Am wondering what improvements can be done power wise... I know I could get a power commander or something like that. Anyone have any thoughts on this. Was also wondering why these bikes which are fuel injected have a manual choke???

I am new to ridding as I havent had a bike in 15yrs and everyone I know who does ride are into the Harley seen and party. I dont drink and ride and dont want to be with them but was wondering if anyone is or knows much about the star clubs in Indy and westfield? I talked to my dealer and he couldnt help much. I'm getting ready to change a back tire on my 07 RSV in about 2,000 more miles. I want to go with the Dunlop Elite 3 and was wondering what kind of mileage to expect. Or would I get more mileage out of an Avon?
