It has been a while since I have asked this Question. Has anybody come up with an Idea or do they make any kind of extension for the passenger for 99+RSV yet ? I have a 1999 RSV. I got a new valve cover gasket today, and I took the old one off. There was silicone every where. I was wondering if the valve cover pan was on the wrong way. There is an arrow in the pan that was pointing toward the back tire. I am wondering if it is suppose to point that way or does it really matter? Thanks hairman

Hi gang. Is it possible to remove the rear shock and the fender will not hit the tire? so It can be put on a lift and carted off to my dealer for my trike conversion? I was wondering if removing the rear shock would cause any problems , A person that owns a second gen needs a shock pretty soon. otherwise he has to wait until about the 2nd week of March. If I can remove it, what is the procedure on doing that? Almost looks as if I would have to remove the Tire.. ummmm maybe I otta let them remove it. *lol* My Poor Bike is almost NAKED NOW *sigh* Basically I was wondering if it was a BIG deal or not. I have just signed my final divorce papers now just waiting for the judge to do the same. This is my first divorce and hopefully my last, we were married for 20 years and have 2 kids. My daughter is 19 and in college and she is fine with all that is going on, my son is 15 and mad as hell at me right now.I am not saying that this was all her fault and it was not all mine, but she has got my son thinking that I left them for no reason and he won't even speak to me now. I know this won't last forever, and I was just wondering if any other dads out there have been through the same thing and how long did it take before things kinda got backto normal. Joel

I just purchased my 83 VR and the class controller is busted. I found one for a 86-93 VR and was wondering if it was interchangable? Please help. -

Need a little advice, I have the pumpkin off and when I had it sitting on a slight angle oil was seeping out of the holes that can be seen in the pic...where the leaf stalk is....there is nothing coming from the outside of the coupling gear. So I was wondering if this is normal, I can't see any sort of seal being around that inner part on the exploded view of a diagram. [ATTACH]25560[/ATTACH]

I am looking at 2 headsets the J&M H58154 of/ff and the IMC HSG35u/HSG15. Both inexpensive headsets. One for 3/4 and one for full face helmet. I do limited 2-up but its nice to have when I do. They are both about the same price so was wondering if any one has an opinion either way on which to get. Thanks. Bill

Does anyone here have any experience with a motorcycle hauler in the Mass. area? I have a friend who's son needs his crotchrocket taken from Lynn, Mass. to the Ocala Fl, area. I've never used one but I've read about several that have used them. Just wondering if anyone here in that area has any ideas? thanks!

I stopped at the Herley dealer in Lawton this weekend. Wanted to check on a hand pump for my shock. But never did. they kept trying to sell me a new ultra. Got me to wondering about gauges tho. Has anyone or does any one know of a gauge package that works good with our ventures. I was thinking about removing the useless tape deck and trying to fit up some mini analog gauges in there. Temp, oil p, oil temp, and volt meter. Fishing for thoughts. Oh by the way it was 80 here on Saturday. Today we got freezin rain. Had to drive the pickup:cry: -
I got my passing lamps from Santa and was getting ready to install them today but I decided I didn't like the switch that came with them so I stopped the install and started shopping. I was wondering what size handle bars are on the Venture? Also I was wondering if anyone has one of these(http://www.chromeworld.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=catalog.prodInfo&productID=3099&categoryID=1692) installed and how it worked for them. I am mapping out a long distance trip for next summer - something I have not yet done with the 05 Midnight as yet. I have done all the bike service and added the new tires, bought some good sun glasses and............... It seems to me however - many of you have done this long distance riding thing already- so I was wondering if all you long trip experienced riders might help a newbie in this area. If there were one or two things you would do differently, or one of two things you would have taken along or adjusted or whatever - that would have made the long distance ride more enjoyable (safer, more relaxing etc) ...what would those one or two things be???

I have been avoiding signing up for pay pal due to concerns about security of my information. Upon reflection, perhaps I am more at risk in providing my credit card information each time I make a purchase. Just wondering what you all think about the "Pay Pal" transaction process...any negatives that you have encountered? Appreciate the feedback.

Not sure I posted correct place - I thought there was a "other" bikes category . . . ? Wondering if you have any experience installing/using accent lights or ground lights on your BMW for "accent" or safety reasons and your opinion. I have the BMW RT & was wondering where to put them. They worked great on my cruiser. Not sure how or where they would fit because of the fairing?

Going to install brake, clutch and throttle stainless steel lines and would like to know of anything I might run into thats going to give me problems, spent 2 hours reading post about bleeding the clutch and brakes, read so many different ways and problems got me wondering how bad it's going to be (and confused). Any guidance and what tools I will need would be greatly appreciated -
I have just purchased an '89 VR with some fairing and fairing mount damage. Was wondering if the fairing stays from an '83 would work? I can get all the fairing stays from an '83 if they will work. Also need to get the complete fairing. Chuckles:fingers-crossed-emo

Hey all, I'm getting a loud backfire/pop through the exhaust on longer decel. (eg. downshifting on the highway, before an exit ramp etc.) Have the stock mufflers on, had RK's, drilled, and thought it might be because of the open pipes, so went back to stock, and the AIS is plugged. Possible exhaust leak? Was wondering if anybody has had a similar condition, and what you may have done to fix this as it is annoying. The carbs have never been played around with, so was wondering if that may have something to do with it. Have not noticed a performance change though. The bike has 40k miles on it. Please help.
