First want to that Diamond R Accessories for their great service. Ordered an RSV pillow stuff back rest on Thursday and got it yesterday. Great looking piece, nice size pouch, and matches my seats. Hope to install it today when I do an oil change and inspection for a long ride this weekend. Thanks again Diamond R, second time I've ordered from them and really like the product quality and service. Shamue

Ok, I know we don't have a lot of members from the Norfok, NE area but maybe someone has better access to weather information than I do. Weather channel says severe thunderstorms and high winds in that area tonight. So here's my issue. My daughter in working at a fireworks stand with friends in Norfolk, NE this weekend. We have been texting back forth over the weekend and staying in touch. She was supposed to be headed home this evening. A while ago she sent a text that the wind was coming up real bad and hail was beating the hell out of the tent. She said people had talked about a tornado. The next text was the tent had gone down and everthing was gone. That was the last text I got and no response since. Anybody able to find any info on the situation there? I'm packing up to head that way shorty if I don't hear from her soon but it's a couple hours ride up there in nasty weather. Like to know what I'm headed into. The reason I'm asking here is I am deaf and not able to jump on the phone. Thanks. Mike

Okay folks. Yesterday I posted the video that my brother did of our 2010 ride. He just FTPd the 2009 ride video to me, and with his gracious consent - here it is. Only three of us that year as we had all intended to get together on the New South Wales North Coast at Brunswick Heads but heavy rains and floods made the roads impassable. We did get there in 2010 - that's the 2010 video. Instead we headed to Tamworth where it was reasonably dry and we visited out sister. This year, she did a five days ride with us to Bunya Mountains in Queensland. That video is yet to come. As they say in the classics, "Watch this space." Enjoy. (Designed to be viewed 16:9, but YouTube defaults it to 4:3. Bit squashed!) [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ga7KybWqsMw]YouTube - 2009 Weekend Family Bike Ride[/ame]

I'll be in VA the weekend they come, but Annie said to ask where folks would like to meet. Since I know there's a few of the NC members that haven't met them yet we need to find a great place for them to visit at. I'm guessing they aren't coming all the way to the coast, but she did say anywhere. I figure somewhere in the middle might be the easiest. Could have a group introduce them to some NC BBQ in Lexington maybe. Someone let me know where you'd like it to be and I'm sure Annie and Al will be following this. It's Father's day weekend 17 & 18. So come on NC we need a meet for Annie. Margaret

A week or so back, I had been planning a great 3-day May long weekend ride/getaway ... just myself! Weatherman was forecasting decent weather... in fact, for the past 3 days it's been awesome! Nina and her daughters were taking off to Penticton in our truck for a reunion with family friends from long before my time. I had the whole weekend to myself and I was just gonna RIDE! Until this ..... :crying: :crying: Yep... I'll have a nice weekend to myself ... ALL ALONE AT HOME! and what's worse, no cage to drive.

Since this is a Vogal year, I threw it out about having a long weekend meet and eat for the weekend of June 10-12th as we have done in the past and meeting at the Asheville KOA campground. It appears that we are getting very little interest this year, which may be the combination of Vogal, the economy and the date that was set, which is the weekend after Freebird's MD, or whatever. Also Warrior sent me a PM about a M&E in Asheville on the 18th, but I have not seen where he has posted anything. Sooooo, if June 10-12th is not a good time for many that are interested in coming, maybe we could target another date, maybe in July, as I am game for that. Or if there is just not enough interest this year, maybe we can try to put together a bigger rally next year. But, if we are going to cancel this year, I will need to notify the KOA campground so they will not hold those spaces for us. I really did want to try June this year as this is really late spring up on the Blue Ridge Parkway and the colors are wonderful and the camping would normally be just a little cooler than July or August. So, please give me some feedback so I can put some things together, one way or the other. Thanks, RandyA

A man called home to his wife and said, "Honey, I have been asked to fly to Canada with my boss and several of his friends for fishing. We'll be gone for a long weekend. This is a good opportunity for me to get that promotion I've been wanting so could you please pack enough clothes for a 3 day weekend. And also would you get out my rod and tackle box from the attic? We're leaving at 4:30 pm from the office and I will swing by the house to pick my things up. Oh! And please pack my new navy blue silk pajamas..” The wife thought this sounded a bit odd, but, being the good wife, she did exactly what her husband asked. Following the long weekend he came home a little tired, but, otherwise, looking good. The wife welcomed him home and asked if he caught many fish? He says, “Yes! Lots of Walleyes, some Bass, and a few Pike.” Then he asked: “But why didn't you pack my new blue silk pajamas like I asked you to do?” You'll love the answer... The wife replied, "I did. They're in your tackle box". Never, Never, Never try to outsmart a woman!!!

Someone called me this past Monday night to talk about the lights I just added and hit me at a really bad time. I didn't catch who it was. The phone rang just as I had just put dinner on the stove and then a (former) BIL stopped by with a car we were buying. It just snowballed and I needed to postpone the call to attend the immediate things happening in the kitchen. Didn't mean to be rude. Would be glad to chat about the lights (or anything else). It just hit at a really bad time. Give me a call this weekend if you would still like to chat. Will be in the garage (fixing cars) or in the office (doing taxes) all weekend. RR

I put a new windshield on my bike this weekend and took the opportunity to split the faring for the first time. Figured since it's an '03 that all the connectors in there, etc would need some attention. The first surprise was the chrome windshield trim still had all the tabs intact, couldn't believe it after the stories I've read on here. Second surprise was that it was spotless inside, all of the connectors were clean and in great shape. I did hit all of them with a little dielectric grease since I was already in there. Needless to say, I was doing the happy dance.

I got my F4 Customs windshield back in December, but the weather has been CRAPPY here until this weekend...a beautiful weekend too I might add...so I finally got a chance to shoot a couple of pics that really show off the clarity of this shield. YES, I love the shield. I got the one that is 2" wider and 2" taller than the stock shield. I would DEFINITELY buy this shield again (especially after riding in the rain one day last week)...light rain just SHEETED right off the shield. My only (EXTREMELY MINOR) complaint is that I do wished it still had the black shaded strip at the bottom of the shield. Not only did that strip make the stock shield look better, but it also reduced glare a little bit and hid the dirt between the shield and the fairing. Here are the pics. Wally
