i'm new to the Venture world so please be patient. i just bought an 87 venture 1300 that had been sitting for years. it only has 8500 miles on it. the guy i bought it from said he had the local yamaha shop replace the fork oil. however, the slightest curb or difference in the road seems to bottom out the front forks. what do you all suggest? so far i love my venture!!

We're getting excited about our next purchase, that most likely being a Venture or a Tour Deluxe. We're interested in knowing how many here are on their second Star Cruiser style, and/or those on their second Venture, or those who traded up to the Venture, or down to the cruiser. We don't give a rat's ass about the chirp or other known traits of these motorcycles. We're kinda almost sold 100% on the V-4; but which style: Full boat with all the bells and whistles, or enjoy life a little longer in cruiserville. Oh yeah, hopefully we'll be able to test ride both this weekend in Daytona.

Hey guys, I need more light on the back of the Venture. Do they make a spoiler with a light on it and how hard is it to install. I'd like to stiffen-up that flimsy trunk lid while I'm at it. I love the bike, it just doesn't put out enough light for safety's sake. Eddie

Came across an '06 RSTD with 800Kms on it yesterday. Dealer was asking $12,500. They also had a new ('07) Midnight Venture with price of $20,488. How do these prices stack up against those south of the 49th?

Can anyone advise on a good place to put some xtra running lights on an 06 midnight venture?

When I push on the start button of my 1990 Yamaha Venture I usually hear "click" and nothing else. Most of the time the engine will start after I push the start button two or three times. Do you have any idea of what the problem may be? (The battery seems good.) Thanks. Maurice.

I'm looking to improve the radio sound on my 92 Venture, any suggestions on a good sounding set of speakers the will not break the bank?

Does anyone know if you can install an windshield bag on a Yamaha midnight Venture ... or is the space between the dashboard and the Windshield to small. I like to have something like this . http://images.channeladvisor.com/Sell/SSProfiles/22001121/Images/3/WS21.jpg

I need a windshield for my 1990 Yamaha Venture. I found one on Ebay for the 1983 Venture. Do you know if the 1983 windshield also fits the 1990 Venture. Thanks. Maurice.

Hey guys I have an 83 venture and i am looking at getting new mufflers for it i have a set from an 86 that are available to me but i want to make sure they will fit? does anyone know? they look the same to me but i want a second opinion. Thanks

I am looking for a stock seat that will fit a 2006 Royal Star Venture preferrably in good condition. No pillow top or studs, just a regular seat. I'm hoping someone has one lying around collecting dust that they are willing to part with at a fair price.

Yesterday, Barbara and I test rode a full boat '08 GW 1800. It sure is a lot different than the 1200 Venture. It is the smoothest (both ride AND motor) motorcycle I've ever ridden, and also the quietest. A lot less wind noise than the Venture, and way less sound from the motor and exhaust (My Venture has stock mufflers). The GW has a little less leg room, but you are much closer to the ground than the Venture. Barbara had a bit more leg room, plus the passenger portion of the seat was bigger. Had some things I didn't like though. First off, the motor doesn't have much personality. It didn't have the snarl the Venture does when you shift it at about 4 grand. You sit much further forward, and this puts you much closer to the windshield and gives you a lot less arm room. After about 40 miles, I could feel cramps in my arms. The dealer said that somebody makes an adapter that allows you to move the handle bars further forward, but they are not adjustable like the Ventures are in stock form (although my Venture's are still in the 'stock' position). The GW doesn't counter-steer as easy as the Venture, it resisits changing course. It's a pretty bike, but I'm not sure I'd like it.

I know several Venture owners have installed Vmax powertrains into their ventures. It got me thinking, has anyone ever gone the other way and figured out a way to mount Venture bodywork to a v-max?

A buddy of mine has a Venture and always complained that his trunk lid did not open all the way. He would either have to hold it open or let it rest on the half way open lock feature. Anyway, when I got my Venture he was with me and one of the first things he looked at was my trunk lid. It opened all the way, stayed up and let to close it, of course you have that double action you have to do to close it. Anyway, last week, after only having the bike for 3 weeks or so, mine started doing the same thing. Is this a common problem? Is there a fix for it other than removing the arm? That is what he ended up doing. I don't really want to do that. Thanks Greg

Hello all, I'm a new member here, but the wife and I have been lurking here for a while. I've Been owning and driving motorcycles since 1966, and the wife since 1992. The last one we owned that would be comparable to the Star Venture was our 1998 FLTRI Road Glide HD. I'm riding a 650 Suzuki thumper now. Never owned a Gold Wing or BMW full boat offering. The wife drives a Kawasaki 750 Vulcan. We were quoted $16,000 out the door price for a 2008 Venture at Okeechobee, Fl. with no trade in. BMW and/or HD can't come close to that price for a total package tour bike. Should we buy? We're looking for comfort for two-up, prime concern. We haven't driven one yet, but the room for two seems better than the other's offerings. Heft off the side stand was substantial... Thanks ahead of time for the responses.
