Almost got swacked twice yesterday. One from a lady that swerved into my lane and the other from a guy that just pulled out in front of me. How many lights do we need? I run with my high beams on in the daytime, but I'm thinking "flashing lights" or something especially in high traffic areas. Can you fix the front turn signals to flash on a RSTD? What is the best light setup? Thanks for any suggestions!

Well, been home for a week now recouping from sholder surgery, WAY to much time on my hands before I go back to work. Tinkering in my work shop, I want to run several more lines remotely off my air compressor so I have alternate locations that I can plug in air tools, etc. I am thinking of using 1/2" inch PVC pipe? Anyone have any experience with this? Just thinking 1/2" as its cheeper that 3/4"? Would ther be a difference in air flow CFM,s etc between 1/2" and 3/4"????????? Air is used mostly for blowing off parts, drying and a 3/4" air ratchet. Light sanding, no heavy spray painting or orbital sanding? Any hints?

well today after a long year of not riding. i took out the yamaha maxim i was going to give to the girlfriend before we broke up. the venture finaly made its way to a friends house for the tires and rotor and break work. all was going well but i dont know if any one else ever felt this way? but when i hit the highway. i was scared for about 20 miles. then i started to come around. a friend said im rusty? maybe should see about a refresher course? i took the motorcycle safety course 2 years ago. but that was on a little 250cc bike. i passed with a perfect test run. no mistakes back then. now its time to see what im doing wrong? im thinking take the maxim. through that course. then move up to the big boy? i do have a hard time makeing a u turn on the venture. i once did a low side on it. came in to a parking space thinking i could turn it to face outwards and found out i ran out of room? didnt want to hit the parked car so just kind of let it slide down on the crash bar. no damage but man what a bear to get back up. a good friend has now taught me how to get these heavy bikes back up. i was doing it all wrong. never try to muscle that bike he said. he showed me how to get it back upright from both sides. well that has been my day. hope to ride again tomorrow

A buddy and I are planning a trip from near Amarillo to Nashville and down the Natchez trace and I am thinking about using PikePass on the turnpikes. I was wondering what the best way to use the Pass on a bike was.

I need thoughts "pro or amatuer" on a gps mount. I am thinking of the N-B238U standard mount on the plastic cowl, forward and to the left of the gas cap. a 3.5" arm N-B201U to get the unit up closer to the speedo and cass. player. I have the garmin nuvi 255w and i'm thinking this will help keep it out of the wind and weather. the steering should go lock to lock without it beeing in the way, i think. any thoughts please chime in, thanks. tired of getting lost......

I know that the factory toque's the ignition bolts down and brakes them off at the factory if my thinking is correct. So my Question is how are some of you removing them. The only reason I want to do this and remove them and place a regaler bolts on there place is I have a spare and if one day I was stranded I could just replace it on the road and be on my way. any idea's or tricks that you folks have done to remove them? Is it a hard job? I guess worse case is I could pull tank back a bit and un-plug bad iggy and plug now on in leave it lay there .. under the tank. all I am doing is thinking ahead a little for long road trips. even have my spare fuel pump as well. Thanks! Jeff

I'm wondering.... Don has mentioned a few times that now that he's "triked" the bike, that maybe I should learn how to ride it and then get my "endorsement". I kept saying no, no, no. I enjoy the backseat alot. It's a great way to just unwind after working all day or after a hard week, we can just ride on the weekend. However, after alot of thinking, I decided maybe it wasn't a bad idea after all. I came home from work the other day and said sure, honey..you may be right. I think it's time (when the weather gets a little better) to teach me to ride the trike. Then I can get my motorcycle license....AND THEN I CAN RIDE THE TRIKE TO WORK!!!! The look on his face was PRICELESS!!! And then he said heck no! or something to that effect.... Don't you think that is WRONG???? If I learn to ride it, and get my license, why shouldn't I get to ride it to work. He doesn't work..he's retired..he has OTHER TRANSPORTATION...why can't I have my turn at it???? Any thoughts???? Pat

THINKING OUT LOUD. We're thinking about putting together a ride from Tucson down to Mazatlan Ferry over to La Paz and do a circle around Cabo up to Santa Rosalia over to Guaymas and back to Tucson some time in Feb/ March. Trip should be a 2 weeks Great cheap hotels, excellent and uncrowded roads with plenty of thing to do and see with the friendliest people on earth. Come and go as you please the beaches and warmth of the sun are second to none. Camping is also a great option. Let me know. I am gone into the desert until after Christmas. Mull it over. Toughest part is making the decision to go for it. Remember all the gossip you've heard about Mexico is just except for those that love to gossip. Nevada Max:santa:

I already have cabin fever. If I organize another Gettysburg Spring Meet & Eat, who's in? Had a great time last year. Would love to see everyone again! If you weren't there, Sleeperhawk's Mechanic took some great pics: http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y262/venturerider/Sleeperhawks%20Mechanic%20Gettysburg%2020090418/?start=480 It's real early but I need to start thinking about it if I'm going to do it.

I saw this product advertised on on of the porgrams I watch and was wondering if anyone has used it or even seen it? What do you think of it? There is a dealer close by in Richmond BC I thought I might give it a try. I'm thinking of polishing up some of the aluminum this winter and this might help to keep it shiney longer. Looking forward to your comments. http://www.sharkhide.com

Hey folks, I've been thinking (yeah, dangerous stuff that:scratchchin:) that what with Christmas coming up and us having a pretty good size organization, it might be nice for us to do "something" for the kids for Christmas. What I was thinking of was some sort of "group" contribution to perhaps the Marine Corps "Toys for Tots", or St. Judes. I would envision us sending individual checks made out to whatever charity we select to a single collection point, then one of our guys making a formal presentation to the charity on behalf of VentureRider. If we'd all kick in a lousy $10 bucks we'd raise more than $20,000 and THAT would make a real difference for a bunch of kids (And it would be some Great Publicity for VentureRider). Anyway, just a thought of something that might be fun for us to do this Christmas season. Whadda ya think?

Boomer......who really needs a high mileage set-up.

Here is a brain tickler for you. When I bought my RSTD it had a handlebar mount installed and wired. The question is what does it run? I know it must be some kind of music player but what type? I was thinking instead of removing, I can use if I can figure out what it fits. Does anyone dare to identify? Thanks Mark

Thinking of joining the GWRRA as an assoc member. A few friends have wings and have hinted at my joining. They seem to have some good benefits. Anyone else here a member and do you have any feedback, pro and con. No, im not getting a wing either so lets nip that one in the bud.

Anyone have an idea about how many of our members are serving in the military? Active duty of any country that we have members in. I have something I want to do but need an estimate of the number of people we are talking about. So if you know of someone post their user name and lets see if we can get a head count. I think that I would like to include those working as private contracts that might be in "harms" way also. What I am thinking of needs to be done by December 1st, so lets get the list rolling! Thanks everyone for your help - now who's going to be first? SGN

I was driving along Ft. Myers beach in my truck this morning doing the speed limit and this biker zoomed past me (it wasn't a passing zone) and I noticed he was decked out in his biker attire even though it was about 92 degrees and felt like 110. He had a do-rag, leather vest, tatoos, boots, etc. He was idling along blipping the throttle to let everyone know he was there. I was thinking to myself "there is a real biker". Then I looked at the bike and I didn't recognize it from the rear. So I got closer and saw the name on the seat, a KYMCO 250. That made me smile. I can just imagine the ribbing he'll receive when he rolls up to the next biker bar. DT

I have noticed this bike in the driveway and thought I should stop in and introduce myself and Ventureriders but it would appear I am too late. It's a clean looking bike and I'm thinking it's a good deal. It looks like he's missing the trunk.
