Well the Ultimate seats are in and install. Well take it out for the first ride in the morning if they ride half as good as they look it will be great. Boy it only took 4 days from order to get here. I had a set on the R* and loved them.

Just got the new bike back from deal after 600 mile service. It seems to have a back fire when deceleration. He said it was set lean from factory and he adjusted. Am I wrong or does this bike not tend to backfire when it is running lean. If he set it richer should that take care of the back fire

Just put a set of mustang seats for tour deluxe in the classifieds (Put in Royal star parts and accessories). It says 2005 on the bottom of the driver seat but, I believe they fit any of the 2000 and up TD's (maybe 99 too?) They are in pretty good shape for four years old - I noted and put pics of the scuff's and such in the ad. To those of you who ride the more beautiful and nimble of the Venture lineup, I ask this question. The manual states that lone rider rear shock pressure should be 14 psi. Add a passenger or cargo (not both) then the psi jumps to 42 for the rear. My dilemma is that I don't have a compressor on board (removed before I bought the bike and never replaced) so I have the rear shock psi set to 30. I also have damper set to 2. I do this in case I pick up a passenger unexpectedly. I am interested in your thoughts on this and if you think there may be a better way to do this. Thanks in advance, Thomas -
Looking to get intercom head sets for my 2009 RSV. The one Yamaha brands is about $300 but I've seen some for as little as $65. Quite the range in price. Any recommendations for/against particular brands/models? As much as I'd like to get a bluetooth head set that can tie into my Blackberry for cell and music I'd like to be able to use the existing audio system on the bike (radio/cb). I've considered using the Blackberry with a bluetooth/FM transmitter but don't see how that could combine with a head set. Any suggestions appreciated. Maybe the 2011 model will include bluetooth instead of a cassette ?

can clearance lights "led" be wired to act as run/turn signal only ?? want to put some on side of trailer but only as run/turn, no brake. have 4 wire set up with 5 to 4 conversion on bike. any thoughts??

There was someone making up heavier battery cables (lonestarmedic) but he's "expired". is there a " how to" anywhere on how to make the new cable set? Is there anyone else making and selling them? If you see this...how much including shipping to Canada?

I know this isn't bike related but you're a large family to throw the question out to. My wife and I are looking at a top of the line Whirlpool Duet front load washer/dryer set. The price is right. I've looked at online review sites and see a mixed bag of opinions. I see the same from other manufacturers reviews. So, I'm looking for input from real people with first hand knowledge. I can get the top of the line set for about $1300 which is about $800 less than Lowes price. Should I look elsewhere? Does Whirlpool make a decent set? Thanks, Dennis

I am looking for a set of Chrome disk that fit on the back wheel of the 2nd generation Venture. I understand that at one time Yamaha made them does anyone know where a fellow could get there hands on some. They bolt on to each side of the wheel thourgh the holes in the bottom of the spoke on the wheel. Short-Haul said that he picked up a set on Ebay but there are none on there now. let me know if you have a set or know where to get a set.

Does anyone have a set of good Bub's, Jardines or ????? pipes for a 1st Edition and willing to part with em? Just added the Ventureline light bar that mounts below the bags and where the stock mufflers now dump the exhaust barely, and I do mean barely, are below the bottom of the light bar. Looks silly. First I thought I'd just out bid someone on fleabay for a set of those chrome dual downturned muffler extensions but seems like there will never be another set up for bidding. Even checked CL. Even posted here to see if anyone had a set they'd part with but so far no good. So, now I think the only way to go will be a set of after markets pipes/mufflers. Will pay whatever it takes. MG

Looking for a used set of floorboards from 1st or 2nd gen that are not usuable anymore on bike. Plan on using them to fabricate part of trailer. Anybody got a set laying around for a decent price plus shipping? Thanks and God Bless. Mike

I traded some BUBS for a set of Tour Deluxe factory mufflers. The TD dpipes arrive today and the opening to the pipes is 1/4 inch bigger than the BUBS, in fact the the BUB muffler opening will slide into the TD muffler opening , aren't they supposed to be exactly the same? I tightened down most of the set screws but I am uncomfortable going much tighter. The exhaust is leaking at the end of the header. What I am i doing wrong?

I am thinikng about making a speaker set up in the lids of the saddle bags so I am looking for some broken lids that anyone has and wants to get ride of. I dont want to cut up a good set since I am not sure how I am going to do this just yet. Trial and error I guess.

Hello All, My 96 RS has "Turn-out" mufflers on now and I wanted to change back to OEM mufflers. I purchased a set of mufflers only to find that I need the "stays" to mount the OEM mufflers. I'm reaching out to anyone who might have a set of these that would want to sell them. -
If anyone reading this has a good set of the dual downturned exhaust/muffler extensions for a 1st Edition, and is willing to part with them for ???? $$$$$$, let me know. I would really love to hear from ya. Thanks MG

what is typically the problem when the idle increases? I am looking at purchasing a 1083. The current owner indicates that is has something with the set screws slipping, but then says he isn't familiar with it. Any advise is much appreciated! -
I'm new to the venture world but not to the world of motorcycle problems. so here's the story-- the cruise turns "on" and the "set" light turns on but does not maintain a set speed. its like the system "thinks" it is working fine, but its not. I've spent a lot of time searching the forums here for answers to my cruise problem but no luck. everyone suggests the clutch handle----OPS check- OK. then the front brake lever----- OPS check- OK. then the rear brake-----OPS check- OK. I don't get the 'blinking lights' that the service manual mentions-- this indicates that it is NOT a vacuum pump or c/c unit problem. Please help. I'm prepping for a week long tour of the mid-Atlantic and north east US. Cruise would be nice. thanks everyone. -
OK, here's one of the things I'm still looking for to detail out my '84. The two plastic caps that plug the recess in the top of the risers where the handlebars bolt in. I've never seen them on the bikes I've seen and just noticed the caps in the part breakdowns while looking to replace some other parts. Before I begin chasing in cyberspace to make sure they are still available (I found a couple that claim they are) I thought I might ask if anyone had an extra set laying around that needed a good home. Part# 26H-26133-00-00 Between those and my project to replace the tripmeter reset button I'm about there, I think, unless I find out something else is missing. LOL! -
I just installed a set of MBL handlebar risers on the wing. They bring the grips up and back. I was getting a stabbing pain at the base of my neck between the shoulders:starz: and they seem to have solved that. I had the same issue with my RSV and put on a set of Flanders G2 bars and braided stainless lines at a cost of about $500. The MBL risers were $69 from wingstuff and I got free shipping that they were offering for a limited time.

Well I did it again ......... Broke my ribs for the 3rd time in a year and half ! While getting the boat ready to take out yesterday evening to watch the Fireworks from the Inter-Coastal Waterway , I was loading up the Porta-Potty since we were going to have woman folks aboard. Instead of resting the Ole Honey Pot on the side and then climb aboard, then set it down inside. I decided to hop up on to the trailers wheel fender and lean way over to set it down inside. Then it happened, I slipped and cracked the ribs again on the side of the boat. Been a day now , kinda tender still, But still hopped on the scoot today to ride a spell. I thinks next time, the women folk can hang it over the side like the rest of us doo ! BEER30

I swapped a set of carbs on my 96 RSTC today and the bike runs good but it seems to me that it sounds quite a bit different. Is this possible or am I imagining things? I believe that the carbs came off a 97.

I am looking for a set of front fairings for a 89 VR because the previous owner dropped the bike and broke both fairings. I have been offered a set of fairings from a 83 VR and would like to know if they will fit a 89. I am not that knowledgeable about what the interchangeability is from year to year. Can someone point me in the right direction as to where I can find this information? Thanks. Jim
