I joined because Im really interested in a bike. Mine was just crushed last week in the parking lot. Im looking at this for my upgrade. 1999 Yamaha® XVZ13 ROYAL STAR with 69,000 miles. Has a towing hitch on it, air horns single seat. Guy traded it in for a new Honda touring. Im worried about the miles on these engines. Please enlighten me if this is a great purchase. Price...really low. I dont want to post the link to the sight because I dont want to miss out on this great deal. Under 4k.

Hello....I didn't know where to post these couple of Questions....so I chose here. I am thinking Of selling my '86 Kaw Vulcan 750 and purchasing a 99 - '04 RSV..... I love the Smoothness and reliability of the V-4 engine.....but I hate carbs.....so what kind of issues or problems have you folks had with your carbs. Are they pretty reliable? Do they stay in sync pretty well? Are parts for Mikuni 32's easy to get parts for? What about lowering options....The seat height is a little high for me....I am 5' 6". What other problem areas are there with the RSV. I am going to purchase one of these bikes next April. Thank you for any info that you may have for me.

I have the opportunity to pick up a 94 Voyager at a really good price so I'm thinking about making it my ride for the summer. Does anyone know what I need to look for before I purchase it? I am trying to find a good Voyager forum for some feedback as well.

I have the opportunity to purchase this 86 VR for $500. It was side swiped by a cager at an interection. The rider luckly did not receive any injuries and the bike did not go down. The front left fairing got hit and also took out the left side bag. He rode it that way for a while until he rode over something on the way to work. When his work day was done he found a large puddle of oil under the oil pan. So he figured what ever he rode over cracked the oil pan. It does not have rear fender and the crome below the left side bages. It is a VR and he said that the Cassette(probably works), Radio, CB, CASE, Electronic Cruise Control all work good. The Cruise Control does loose some and so he had to use the throttle to bring it backup to speed. He said that it ran great up to the day of the oil incident. It has about 85K miles. I have parts that I could use immediately, trailer hitch, passenger arm rest. Otherwise I think it would make a good parts VR for my 89. Oh the color is definately does not match mine. I recently purchased my 89 VR in June and so I'm just a rookie with the VR. I am willing and capabile of fixing things. Of course I will need my wife's support on this purchase. I was thinking that I could use the parts I mentioned then possible pick up the other parts and list it on Craigs list this spring and get my investment back. Maybe everyone could give an estimate of the value of the VR with all the issues repaired. Your thoughs would be appreciated. I will attach as many pictures as I can.

I’m new to the MC world. The ’03 RSV is my first bike. Acquired this past summer I soon determine my legs height needed to be increased to touch the pavement. Rick Buttler modified my seat, a big help. The bike was a REPO. You would think I bought a problem, a lemon. Maybe not, runs OK. Wait-a-minute, I don’t have a history to reflect on to make this judgment I’ve read the “TechTalk”, and I probably need the rear shock. But this carb sync, lean adjustment, AIS, etc. although not Greek to me, I am looking for help. Anybody around Houston, 77021, who would like to help a retired guy …lets get together. My first long trip was to Galveston, it was an education. Those who have made the trip may recall the long left-sweeping curve entering the Causeway. ( After reading “How to Ride Like a Pro” on YouTube, I wanted to apply some of what I learned). I was at 65 mph, counter steering, leaning left and I could not hold the turn. CF was pulling me to the outside of the curve. I shifted a good 5 ft. I’m an avid read of the TecTalk, I enjoy the comments and helpful hints. No regrets on my ’03 purchase, I wish I had made the purchase 10 yrs earlier. It's a fun ride.

Anyone have experience with this fairing for a 2006 RSTD? It is pricy, but looks great and having a sound system would be a plus. I would like to see one on a bike before I purchase. I live in the Cincinnati, Oh area and do not mind taking a ride to see one within a reasonable distance. Thanks

Hi guys, what's the shortest CB antenna I can mount on my RSV? I know I may be sacrificing a lot of range by going shorter but I seldom use CB but don't want to give up the capability. I currently have the 36" Firestiks and mods on both sides but soon going to try out the hidden amplified am/fm antenna on the bike.. if it works that well, then I would want to reduce the CB antenna to balance out the look of the bike without losing the CB antenna completely.. Part number, where to purchase etc etc.. would be appreciated.. Cheers

I live in Northern Alberta so finding tires, (and other parts), at a reasonable price is a chore. I did plenty of looking for a new rear tire, (140/90-16 or MU90B-16). I hit every shop in town but I found the best deal, by about 30 bucks at http://www.canadasmotorcycle.ca/dunlop- ... -tire.html. With taxes and free delivery it cost me a total of 160CAD, delivered to my door. Delivery took less than 2 weeks. I payed with Paypal. That may sound a lot for a tire but it was the cheapest I could find for this tire. I am pleased with my purchase there and thought I'd pass this info along.

Don!!......Its nice to be Loved by You and Your Venturerider Family First of all... Don .... You have reached a new stage in your life....... The Old Fart Stage. ...... I hope to God your diapers held after saying all those nice things about me and of course they are all true, I wont deny it The 2nd Gen still looks like a Harley fitted with lazy boy cushions and It took me at little longer to actually reach the Old Fart Stage and with you folks The Trailer , I still wont back down what I said From my post in 2007 The only reason I purchase the Trailer, It looks pretty sharp behind the scoot and he wouldnt sell it separate Now that you are an Old Fart:rotfl:Your primary trailer usage is storing plenty of Viagra and Depends in it The GPS... I wont back down on it either.. A useless piece of device..No adventure at all ... Now that you are an OLD Fart ...You will use it to find the nearest Washroom quickly I Don Oh!! :doh:By the way, If I didnt purchase this 2nd Gen, Your site would have died from BOREDOM!!!

Bought a new-to-me 97 Royal Star Classic. Since I am not sure of the maintenance history I was going to change (among other things) the spark plugs and wires. Any recommendations on what brand of wires, or where to purchase from? Thanks.
