I saw in the Iron Butt magazine that a high position is preferred for auxiliary light mounting. They said that a high position allows the light to reflect off objects and back to your eyes more effectively. Mounting lights on the mirror stalks or reservoirs is the way to go, they say. I saw the Denali LED D1 Lighting Kit review show up, and checked them out. They would seem to be perfect for mounting up there... small and sturdy. But how? Anyone mount lights up near their hands? Well I have been fooling with this for a while but I just got the mount back from powder coat. Thanks Gary! Assembled it all together, pre-wired the bike so I should be good to go on Saturday and mount and see if the little bugger works or not. Mount made by Renne it was a great job and a hell of a design as far as I am concerned. Paint by Gary and fooling around by me. I think it is exactly what I wanted to so fooling around is just part of the deal for me! YA I KNOW!!!! Where the heck are the pictures? RIGHT HERE!!!!!!!! Befor paint and after powder coat

Nice weather in Wisconsin and I have put about 200 miles on my TD already. I have accumulated a few chrome parts ans have been having fun working in the garage getting ready for the "real" spring here. Which brings me to a dilema. I bought a detachable sissy bar and want to mount a trunk to it. I have seen Al's mount on the web page but I know I have seen other ones(mounts)also and can't find them now. Soooo.. if anyone has pictures or sells alternative mounts please post for all of us. Thanks alot and lets hope the nice weather continues. Reno

I want to share with you the Tach Mount that Renne and his buddy made for me. I stopped at Renne's on the day we had the M&E in Minnesota. A thought I had an idea to mount my tach to the RSV. So said to Renne I wanted to pick his brain on how to mount the tach I had and I should him the tach and the piece of metal brought to show him what I was contemplating. Well he says set id down there I gotta a couple of ideas. Well a week later he calls be tells me my mount is done. We were going up to my bother-in-laws and so I had to go right by Renne's place so I stopped and here is what he came up with. (see pictures attached This was the poto-type mount so it is unpolished and anadized or any surface treatment. I am going to start polishing it with fine sandpaper then polishing cream. I will see how it comes out. I be liking it!!!!!!! I've got a Garmin nuvi 255w gps. I have the ball mount for use in the car. What I need is a handle bar mount for my RSV. Can't find any thing at garmin.com. Where should I be looking for a mount? I did stick it to the windshield with the suction cup, but it fell off at hwy speeds and scared the s--t out of me. I grabed it before it fell off the tank and gave it to the wife..

Last summer, I picked up set of warn-n-safe gloves and jacket at the local shop on clearance. I then found out my bike couldn't handle the load so they just sat. Now that I have the new ride, I'd like to get them hooked up. So my question to those of you have this stuff, where do you mount the controller or should it just go in a pocket or something like that. Do you need to get at it very often? I know they have several different versions of the controller and I'm wondering which to get and how to hook it up.

Love to listen to Books on Tape (cd) when traveling so I am looking for a CD player to mount to my RSTD. Looking for input here. I know most have switched to mp3's so maybe someone has one collecting dust they would like to part with? Also looking for idea's on how to mount it to the RSTD? I have an amplifier and speakers for my ipod so I could use some advice on how to put all that together? I'm envisioning switching between the two, when the mode strikes but audio is not my forte!

I need thoughts "pro or amatuer" on a gps mount. I am thinking of the N-B238U standard mount on the plastic cowl, forward and to the left of the gas cap. a 3.5" arm N-B201U to get the unit up closer to the speedo and cass. player. I have the garmin nuvi 255w and i'm thinking this will help keep it out of the wind and weather. the steering should go lock to lock without it beeing in the way, i think. any thoughts please chime in, thanks. tired of getting lost......

I purchased the Stebel air Horn mount and wiring from Carbon-one on this site and I received today in the mail. I got to tell you, Carbon-one does and Xcellent job with the wiring harness and the mount! They look better than professional. The mount is chrome and looks great! The wiring harness is just perfect in design and I just couldn't believe how well it all looks for just $27.00! If you don't have this equipment, you should get. It is the Bomb! Thanks Carbon-one! First class equipment for my baby! Mark:bowdown:

I have now lost two marine grade drink holders off the handlebars. I'm going to a RAM Mount system. It's been dead reliable for my GPS, and when I get a video camera, I'll mount to the same place. I am a fan of the RAM Mount system. My question is whether anyone has used one for passenger drink holding? I have an RSTD, so mounting it to the saddle bag guards is about my only option. Anyone have experience with RAM Mounts there? Dave

I have a small problem now. I bid on a Garmin 2730 on the 23rd of Dec and then promptly forgot about it because it was only for $199. Then the other day I was in a pawn shop. (my wifes family owns 2 and I am addicted) and saw a Zumo 550 (no mount or cable) for $20!!!!!!. When I got home I found out that I won the 2730 also. Which one should I mount? I have to buy the complete wiring and mount for the zumo, but think I would prefer it afterwards. What do you think?

I just purchased the Ram Mount Reservoir Cover from MotorcycleLarry.com. This is the cover that replaces the OEM reservoir cover and has a RAM BALL on one end of it. I am just curious for those of you that use this mount...Did you put it on the Right or Left (I am assuming most put it on the left)...and more importantly, do you have the BALL to the inside of the bike or the outside? Do you use the 2" arm or the 3" arm and do you mount it ABOVE the Com/Audio Controller or over to the side. Thanks for any and all help on this. Wally

Anyone have one or heard of it? Basically you have a non-waterproof electronic device and you put it in this waterproof box. Click on the word Aqua below and it will take you to a web-site I found. Says it will work with any Ram mount. Also says the screen is flexible so you can use the touchscreen. Aqua Box

Has anyone used the Mirror Frame mount for their Garmin? It looks as if this mount would have the mirror threaded through it and like it would work well on the RSV. Also, if you are using it what length arm did you go with? The item description is: Motorcycle / Bike MIRROR FRAME Mount for GARMIN NUVI 200W 205W 250W 255W 260W 265WT 465T GPS
