Well I was trying to avoid doing this myself but as my bike is a ltttle custom now I just dont want to let anyone just touch it. I was gonna let one fellow do it but he since disappeared. I assume he is afraid of scratching it. Im a good wrench myself so I guess its up to me. Not that I cant do it but I have never done it. First off what tools will I need and also what shims should I get. Id rather buy a kit because I have quite a few RSVs and RSTDs around so Im sure this will be the first but not the last. What gaskets will I need. Most of all where do I get it. I do plan a little phone time with Goose to get the procedure down but Im looking for parts and special tool help. Scotty

i broke the upper clamp on my Marklands , you can see the one with the broken clamp and what it looks like whole on the other one , i need to beg , borrow , or steel one but i would prefer to buy one from someone . me and my bad knees would be very thankful ! Thom

I have found a 1999 K 1200 Lt BMW with 15000 miles in great shape. Has anyone ever owned one of these and can you tell me if they are good and dependable bikes. I can buy it for $7000.00.

Alright its time to do a brake job on the RSMV. where is the best place to buy the pads from? I remember reading something about not getting them from the stealership but cant remember where the suggestion was to get them from.

I am looking around for new tires for my rsv and came across the avon corbra which is a radial tire . Has anybody used the avon cobra tires on there bike? My plan is to buy avon tires anyway but i was wondering if the radials were ok on a rsv. :confused:

Well, about a year ago I purchased my 2000 MM (which I love) for a great price. My son was the finance manager at the dealership that I bought the bike from so I got a good deal. Well, I am not really liking the color, while the bike is a pretty bike, I really like darker colored motorcycles. While I keep looking around I do not see any prices that are so high that I should concern myself with changes (painting the bike to match my choices). My opinion is that I paint it and ride it in enjoyment, or sell it and buy another. My choice of color would be a black with a small amout of blue metalflake in the paint. My question is simply this...if I paint my bike to the color I want do you think my value on the bike will change (if it changes at all). The biggest issue that bothers me is that my bike is number 3 ....of 1500. Please let me know what you think......just looking for input to help me make my mind up.... Thanks for your thoughts.... anyone that may be intersted I found a 83 vr1200 plain gold on gold needs work ......seat..paint..left side or faring cracked ..lower farings broken..has radio.air ride..engine roled over not nuf to start batt low 300--400 would buy it i just needed headlight cover turn lens sorry i didnt have camera ill take one with me tommrow

After testing the waters, it looks like another 'Condor' fork brace group buy is in order. I checked with my supplier and we can get the same price as last year's at $50.00 bucks. So it'll be $60.00 total to your front door for those in the US, and $70.00 total for our VentureRider brothers north of the boarder in Canada due to the extra shipping costs. The flat rate shipping cost also covers the paypal fees. The braces will all be shipped via USPS Priority. Pic of the brace is attached. Snarley Bill or whoever, Priscilla is driving to the HUB so she can stay in Missouri and visit family after the rally, therefore we are able to make a beer run on the way up. If someone will either answer this post or pm me and let me know if you need for me to buy beer on the way up, we will take care of it. I don't know how the HUB is set up to keep beer cold, anyone know?

I plan on swapping out the small factory carbs on my 98 Tour Deluxe. I am in the process of gathering parts for the swap. Because of the cost of getting the new carbs I DO NOT want to buy the wrong ones. Does anyone know which year carb set I should buy. And also is the carb set that comes off of the V-MAX or the old GoldWing like Yamaha Venture any more desirable than the 2003 and up Royal Star 32mm carbs/? Thanks for your thoughts... hey guys, i know this isn't really a VR.org topic, but i thought theres so many of you who are knowledgeable about things that possibly someone would have some advice for me: I bought a new house this may, and all the trim turned out to be clear cut red pine. it's awesome! the problem is, the previous owners have painted it several times, and removing that paint is taking FOREVER. methods i have used: Heat gun: effective vs multiple layers of paint, not so effective in the stain, very time consuming. Chemical stripper: effective on the stain, but leaves a weird residue afterwords, won't wash off with mineral spirits or stain prep liquids, i suspect i have some "milk paint" and that is the problem. Sandblaster: works GREAT... when the walnut isn't clogging the blaster. to aleviate the problem, i went to all 1/2 + sized fittings for the media, but it still clogs. anything bigger won't fit under the tank, so i think i'll be leaving that for resurfacing metals. Sanding: about as effective as the heat gun, but even more time consuming. Also doesn't want to remove the stain (it's really really sticky) any advice? i've heard great things about those infared paint removers, but i can't afford to buy one, and you basically have to buy one to rent one. thanks in advance, guys! - Jared

I have a Zumo 550, used it today, disconnected it and when I plugged it in to return home, it would not turn on. Have tried charging it and nothing happens. Battery was at a full charge when it was turned off. This happened once before right after I bought it, took it back to Best Buy, they got it working but wouldn't tell me what they did to get it working again. Has anybody else had this problem. It is only one year old 5/25.

Or for anyone in the know. The wife and I will be in Bar Harbor on Sunday 8/16. Our goal is to get on the ferry in Bar Harbor and head to Nova Scotia the next day. Anyone know if I need to buy tickets ahead of time or just wait and buy them there? We will be on the RSV. Any other advice for that area regarding the ferry would also be welcomed.

Well, my right side muffler has broken off. If someone has the "H" pipe for a '83 Venture, I'd be happy to buy it.
