Been working this all winter. Danos engage clutch mod, Shydocs Clutch upgrade and drain kit, LED running lights, Sheep skin backrest cover, 4 brush starter, repaired or rebuilt EVERY cracked tab, epoxied the fuel tank, new brake pads, added chrome panels to side covers, 4 1/2" driving lights with amber lenses, did interior of trunk...........ah there too much to list! Anyway I got some miles tonight. Felt real good. Yes it did. Gonna be a good summer. Thanks to all the guys that provided upgrade, kits, parts and advice for me during this project. And thanks to Dingy for his tools. The clutch upgrade kit was a huge improvement. Rolling down the Interstate at 75 mph and give it a twist and it's just jumps right on up there. No more slip. Nada.

On our way home from the International this year we plan on stopping at six flags at Gurnee Ill just north of Chicago. We want to camp with our camper and were wondering if anyone has any advice on this. The original plan was to stop at the Wisconsin Dells but you know how plans change.

Ive read the current threads on the subject but i am lost. I am 5' 10.5" tall. I cut my factory shield down to 17" above the bottom of the gas cap area. At that height i was looking above the shield which is what i want. However the buffeting was terrible. So I contacted ClearView and they were great about pre-sales support. I ordered the shortest version which is 19" above the same point. We thought that since their shield leans back Id still see over it. However it didnt work out that way. The bigger problem was the buffeting wasn't reduced enough for me. The recurve helped but not enough. Let me say, the ClearView folks are top notch. Although we couldn't get to a solution, they took great care of me. SO, here I am asking for advice. I want to look over the shield and I want as little buffeting as possible. If this sounds familiar and you've found a solution PLEASE share! and thx......

I have to replace the rear shock on my bike and would like some advice about what to replace it with. I have spoken to Buckeye performance and was quoted $665 delivered to a Detroit address...$691 to Ontario....for the Works Performance shock and $585+ tax for the OEM here in Ontario. Which would be the best option? And is Buckeye's price comparable with any other dealer. I trust any advice you may have. Thank you Ian

Good afternoon everyone, I am about to change the set of tires for the first time on my 2008 Venture. I have read so much on which tire to choose, i really need some advice. The local bike shop tells me the Michilen Commander tires are a big seller for him and his customers love them. Most of his customers are Harley owners. He is giving me a good price on them but I just dont know how they will handle on my Venture. He sells other brand names and has no problem selling me what I ask for. I know alot of you have experience in this area and have used many different tires. My question is: How do the Michilen tires perform on a Venture and what could I expect out of them in mileage and performance? Thanks for your advice!

Birthdays are good for you! The more you have, the longer you live!!! Old age comes at a very bad time!!! It ain't the Age - It's the mileage!!! Any day above ground is a good one!!! It's not that I'm afraid to die - It's just that I don't want to be around when it happens!!! The more you complain, the longer God makes you live!!! If I knew I'd live this long, I'd have taken better care of myself!!! RETIREMENT: Twice as much Husband - Half as much Money!!! Hey Folks, I know there are a few of us that have other bikes. Seeing I am still layed off I am trying to pick up some extra work doing maintenance on other motorcycles. I have a fella that has an '08 Vulcan and wants a rear tire and oil change. I wanted to see if any of our members have had one and what the filter is like to get at. Just so I can accurately quote it for him, any advice for me?

Originally I just used the name of our Motorhome "KountryStar" for my user name, but later it didn't sound appropriate. So, yesterday, I changed it to "Nemo", which is kind of a backwards and upside down spelling of my real name, Owen. And now, many thanks to you other members for all of the helpful advice and recommendations which are posted on this forum. I keep a file of many of them for future reference. You're a swell group!

I'm looking at a 2006 RSV with low mileage (8,000 miles). The paint has many scratches. One big one on the tank but no dents. I looks like some kids were using it for a jungle gym. I can't see any signs to indicate that it was dropped, just not cared for. I'm going to take it for a test ride later this week. If it's mechanically sound I will make an offer on the bike (low offer). I'm new to the RSV so I need advice on what to look for to make a good evaluation. Thanks:mo money:

I am leaving Sat. Aug 1 for my ride thru the New England States. Just wondering if anyone would be willing to share a contact name/number if you live in these states in the event I need to call and ask for advice. I'm referring to if I break down or some other emergency. I have Allstate roadplan so the tow is not a problem. In a few weeks, I will be travelling to Portsmount, NH, then all the way up the coast of Maine to Eastport. I would like some advice on hotel/motel reservations. Should I make some? And how far in advance? I really don't want to book anything ahead of time. I want to see where the wind takes me. For example, I will probably spend one night at Old Orchard Beach. I notice there are plenty of logdings along the beach there. Will I find something when I get there? With the economy the way it is, will the vacation spots be less crowded? Cheers!

Or for anyone in the know. The wife and I will be in Bar Harbor on Sunday 8/16. Our goal is to get on the ferry in Bar Harbor and head to Nova Scotia the next day. Anyone know if I need to buy tickets ahead of time or just wait and buy them there? We will be on the RSV. Any other advice for that area regarding the ferry would also be welcomed.

I have a 1983 Venture Royale. I rode this bike all over yesterday, went out to get on it this morning to go to church and it would not start. All it would do is every so often it would back fire. Where do i need to start? A guy at church said to start by checking the plugs. any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone, A friend here in Oz runs a 1500 Goldwing with double sidecar, and is looking for the correct C/T to run on the back of the bike. Would it be the same (Kumho) as the ones' you all run on the RSV ?? Any advice you can give would be appreciated

Hello , 1st time posting , relitively new member and 1st time Venture owner. I was wondering if somebody could give me some advice. I recently bought a 90 Royale, which has 70,000 k's . I have put roughly 600 k's on it , to me , it runs like a watch, but am planning a 8 to 10,000 k ride this summer. I cannot find a manual and was trying to find out say, is the bike due for a cam chain adjustment, carb sync ?, i live in Victoria, Vancouver Island , Canada, none of the local dealers here will even look at it, myself, i'm in the auto repair business, and am fairly mechanically inclined. The usuals, oil, filter, rear diff, brakes , etc. have all been done. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in anticipation Geoff:confused07:

I want to install new grips on my RSV but I am having a difficult time removing the cable ferrules from their channels. I can't seem to get enough slack. Can anybody offer some advice? Thanks

When it's hot out I ride with fingerless gloves. After a day of riding my fingers have been stained black from the handgrips. What's the solution to this? Is there something I can use to clean the grips to help prevent this from happening? I figured you guys would know something about problem and have some good advice for me. Changing grips is not a solution. I had the Kuryakyn grips on my Valkyrie and got tired of them. Thanks
