  4. Sound like a fuel problem. First I would check fuel shut off valve, then fuel supply. You mentioned that it was under a tarp. Is it possible that your fuel has condensation in it? I would think about draining the fuel in the tank and in the carbs, for some fresh stuff. Good luck man, hope ya get it figured out without to much hassle.
  5. Buy a 2nd gen and you wont have that problem!!LOL. Gotta throw that dig in. Lord knows us 2nd gens get enough digs from 1st geners. Hope ya get it fixed.

  7. When I ride it, it makes me forget about all my other stress and hardships I have and it's so comfortable it never makes me want to stop riding it, unlike every other bike I've owned.
  8. As I recolect, this subject has come up before about synthetic vs. regular oil. I personally won't run synthetic because the dealer i bought my bike from,(Mason's yamaha in Effingham Il.)told me that he put it in his and had severe clutch slippage. I als have a buddy with a road star that told me he exsperienced the same thing. And I've heard the same thing from other people on this sight. Ive also heard other people on this sight say they can and do use it. If I'm not not mistaken,I remember hearing that there was a specific type of synthetic they were using. Can't remember what kind it was. Stay tuned I'm sure you'll get more info. I do know that synthetic has caused slippage problems for many.

  10. sorry to here about your buddy. Please take comfort in the fact that you did all you could and more than most would have been able to do. That being said, I'm sure you will never forget that day,as ive had something very similar happen to me on labor day 1982 with the same results. My prayers are with you and your family as well as him and his family.

  12. If it's a front end wobble,,do a wheelie. If it's a rear end wobble,do a stopie.!!!I can't believe no one else knew the right answer!!:rotf:
  13. It's your buddy that through it on the floor under your bike just to play with your head. He knew it would drive ya crazy for days.

By the way, how fast do you figure you were goin at the time? I was glad to see you both had your leathers on,,I'm sure that helped ya. Hope to see ya back in the saddle soon.
  16. Personally i think everybody should have the right to shoot someone for robbing you. just as in texas. However i dont think everyone should be shot ,just that you have the right to do so. I think your best bet if you are not in texas is a couple of German shepherds with an invisable fence and some beware of dog sighns, and a shot gun for inside the house. Good luck!!!
  17. Start a fire,, drink plenty of liquor,,Find a female and snuggle in a sleepin bag. ,, Not necessarily in that order. Suck it up!!!!

  21. I have a 4.9 pound miniature chihuahua that loves to ride. I bought a rapid transit tank bag and it works out great. I leave the top of it folded back and put a couple of soft cloths or a dish towel in there to make it comfortable for her. Because its right in front of you,,you can allways keep an eye on her. She usually lays down and goes to sleep after about 10-15 minutes. The only time she wakes up is when I come to a stop and then she'll pop her head up and look around . I think this would be the cheapest and safest way to go. Plus the take bag is great any other time. I dont ever ride without it. Wallet, house keys, garage door opener, glasses, gloves, change, and it has a seperate pocket for cell phone. http://dsc03274
