hi folks i wish to post a mighty big thanks to a fellow venture rider and his wife. as some of you know last weekend i was heading over to leakey, texas to meet up with tom and a bunch of ventureriders. i was about 60 miles out of houston rolling at 75mph. all of a sudden my clearview windsheild flew off the bike. the sheild did not hit me or anyone else as it come tumbling back to earth. man what a rush, all that air pressure. i was able to pull over and look the bike over. i could see the sheild back down the road aways. i ended up picking up the sheild and returned home. i wish to thank VANCE he gave me a new clearview shield with a vent, wouldn't take anything for it. also thanks to his wife BRENDA for puting up with me as i arrived at their place at 8 am a full hour before i said i should be there. they even made me breakfast. had a nice couple hour visit with them in their lovely home. isn't this how it is with our big VENTURE FAMILY, helping each other out as we can. again much thanks to vance & brenda. best reguards don c.

PS Now that your official Texans you all have to start your conversations with Y'all!! LOL HAL they are not official Texans yet. they have not received their offical Texas passports nor have we been down to the brazos river to preform the offical baptism rites. just because they have driven over the brazos river doesn't count. QUOTE from the offical texas passport that i have in my hands. TEXANS may have dual citizenship thru birth, marriage or naturalization (as by baptisam in the BRAZOS RIVER ). and as a native born TEXAN and a sponser of squidley & sweetnothing to come down here from above the masion-dixie line. i have first dubs on the dunkin of these two in the BRAZOS RIVER. also if we ever get those two canucks ( gary n and rambling man ) back down here. they received their OFFICAL TEXAS PASSPORTS at the TEXAS STAMPEED. we have some more OFFICAL dunkin to do. reguards don c.

ouch thats a lot of money for almost nothing. i know when i had a rv it had an aluminum tube rail around the top of the roof and was in sections. don c.

i agree with the carbon one lift. squidley has let me use his and it's great.i would also buy the legs(stands) so you can remove the lift. but this is for use at home not on a road trip. i have left my bike on a sears bike lift for over 3 weeks and haven't had a issue with it. if any one wants a 1'st gen centerstand i have one that's not moded it's just hanging on the wall in the garage. reguards don c.

hi rick you might try some of the rv centers like camping world, jc whitney. i belive they may carry some type of cargo rack. but you may have to make them fit. or possibley one of the makers of the cargo trailers to se if they will sell you one. don c.

i agree with rocket you MUST take the weight off. when i did mine 2 years ago i used my sears m/c jack. squidley has a carbon one stand that we have used on my bike recently. that's a better way to go. but using a m/c jack will be ok also just got to center the bike on it. i had my bike up in the air for over 3 weeks while i was waiting for the new shock to arrive from japan. reguards don c.

hi folks i have read all the post so far and would like to add to them. as a lot of you have said you have to live life and i agree with this. you try to be prepared as much as possible, always on the look out. my fixen to be ex-wife never rode with me. my daughter sarah has rode with me quite a bit. she even went with me to the 08 international rally in canada. that was over 4,000 miles round trip and we had a blast. could i live with my self if we had been in a accident and she didn't make it. honest to god don't know if i could live without her. i have lived a full life and she is just starting. but we must go on and be as safe as can be. today i had the honor to give a new female friend her first ride on a motorcycle. we went about 125 miles round trip, yep she was a little tense and i don't blame her it was her frist ride and she doesn't realy know me. but she did just fine. her children i found out was giving her a lot of heck. it comes down to trust with the one your riding with and love in the good lord that today is not the day he's calling you home. best reguards to all don c.

i also have the avon croba on the front. i was using a me 880-130 on the front, used it with the bfg 155. i racked up over 31,000 miles on the bfg before switching to a kuhmo. the croba and kuhmo work well together in my personal experiance, i have about 8,000 miles on this combo. reguards don c.
