  1. i have used a me880 130 on the front and a bfg 155 ( c/t radial ) for over 31,000 miles with no issuses. i now have a avon corba 150 ( radial ) on the front and a kumho 165 ( c/t radial ) on the rear. i feel the radial combo is real sweet. just my 2-cents. don c.
  2. thanks don master guns (herb) told me i had a new service award, while we were out doing the big bend ride. i thought what have i done now. i try to keep a low profile and help were it's need. don this armed forces awards are a great idea, hats off to ken for the idea. reguards don c.

  4. hi all i can't add much to this, i'am blessed more than i have a right to. i have meet and made so many friends here. i had a GREAT TIME, i have been out to the "BEND" 4 or 5 times over the last 5 years and i never get tired of it. now it's a hump to get out there (over 600 miles) one way from houston. then about 120 miles into the park headquarters area. but it's a fantastic ride and i know every state has it's great riding areas. i must say i really had a great time being tom's mother's (miss lillian) personal chauffer for the whole weekend. now this woman can tell some tails. had me going for hours. best part was i have been adopted by miss lillian, i'am now her official chauffer. the low spot for me was when we had to part ways this morning. this lady has touched my heart & soul. i don't often shead a tear but i was crying when i said good bye. she is a lot like my mom, who passed away over 10 years ago. tom's sister kerry is a great woman too. she is be comeing a "hardcore" biker girl. i'll be her wingman any day. thanks again for all the fun, good to see all the venture family that could show up for this meet & ride. master guns (herb) thanks again for the offer of riding your h-d ultra classic bike. best reguards don c.
  5. oh no it's even worse now 'cause he's been on the BEND ride. so close to mexico he's now singing in texspanish. god help us nothing worse than a trans-planted yankee speaking texspanish. don c.

  13. hi mike you have been to "wall" as i call it. this has happened to me on my rsv. when i still had the m/c tires on it. as you i had her wide open, when as an other vr rider said the "pig slaping began". he had just installed new m/c tires front & back (only had a couple hundred miles on the set). he went back home after the ride and rebuilt the front end. you did just about everything i did to recover from this wobble. welcome back from the edge. reguards don c.
  14. hi all gregg i understand what you and others are saying. i just wish we as darksiders could pinpoint and fix his problem. i my self pulled my trailer fully loaded and still straped stuff on top. had my daughter sarah ride with me over half of the round trip way to the '08 international rally. with NO PROBLEMS with the c/t and pulling a trailer. even with a me880 130 on the front. i realy like the handling of my bike. but i also do not run at high speeds, 80 -85 is about the higest i ride. best reguards don c.
  15. yamaman i have not had a problem with the fuel filter or the oil filter cloging up. don c.
  16. still no pictures. don c.
  17. greg as i have stated here that i was runing a bfg c/t on the rear of my bike and a me880 130 on the front. ran this combo for over 31,000 miles. with no major issuses i have just changed out the rear c/t for a kuhmo c/t tire on the rear and the croba on the front. as you have told me and i agree i an very happy with the handling of the bike, smooth as glass. went up to jerry's w north texas mx day put over 1,100 miles on the bike that weekend. i am looking forward to the ride to big bend np next weekend. i guess the point is for some folks the c/t is not what they were looking for, they tried it, don't like it. THEIR SAFETY COMES FIRST. you, me and the other darksiders from this site and other d/s site's it's working for us. best reguards don c.
  18. hi dale sorry to hear your having so much trouble with your car tire and pulling the trailer. i will be the first to tell you to take off the c/t, and go back to a m/c tire. i'am on my second c/t ( it's a kuhmo ) this time with a avon crobra front tire. i have not pulled my trailer with this set up yet, but i don't expect any different results than i had with my first c/t. but for some reason it's not working for you. i presume that the bike drives ok with out pulling the trailer. the issuse is with pulling the trailer. i'll be willing to buy the car tire for you when you get it off. as always be safe. don c.
  19. dave you will be ok, your bike couldn't be in better hands. we always have fun especially when working on someone else's bike. don c.
  20. glad this is working out. i won't be able to attend 'cause of my work hours, but i know you'll be in good hands with all those bike breakers hanging around. don c.
  21. i have been using 44k now for over a year. in the rsv. my 2000 dodge dakota quad cab and now my honda self propelled lawn mower. i have not seen any ill effects of any of my fuel system componets. all i can say is everything runs better. also while at toms in blanco had goose set my carb floats and the fuel bowls were real clean. i have added 44k to my preventive program. don c.
  22. got my pins today also. again thanks for the hard work, they look great. don c.
  23. boy that "devil" in picture#6 just wont leave that "angel" alone. don c.
  24. best reguards to you karl. hope all goes well, will keep you in my prayers. don c.
  25. yamaman the first time i used 44k, i was over at tom's in blanco. tom told me about it and we went by his local auto parts store. the parts guy told me thay had some but not to be shocked at the price. that first can i pored the whole 11 0z can in the tank of the rsv. man was i impressed. about 6 to 12 months later i used another 11 oz can. i now use 1 oz per 1 gallon of fuel. i had been a fathful user of seafoam & b-12 carb cleaner up till this time. i feel the 44k is well worth the money i spend on it twice year now. reguards don c.
