  4. hi bigboy thanks for the kind words. you know what goes around comes around. i am honored to be a part of this extended family. we all help each other were we can. looking forward to shaking your hand & seeing you in person next month at the centeral mississippi m&e. reguards don c.
  5. hi dick sorry i should have had you call me sooner. 'cause i sure can talk faster than i can type, and don't have to worry about spell check. i am 100% sure that the leak was from the nuts being loose on the valve stem, letting air to escape from around the o-rings. keep us informed on your findings. always glad to help in any way. like i told you and others my front porch light is on 24/7. so is the phone, it just may take me a few minutes to get to it. reguards don c.
  6. hay dick i'am up for a while give me a call. 832-265-6236 don c.
  7. the steam is not a pressure fit. at the bottom of the wheel (inside ) the steam has two o-rings. one inside the tire against a flat fitting and the other outside the tire that a screw down nut tightens against the outside o-ring. to squeezes together to hold air in the wheel. don c.
  8. dick the valve core screws into the valve stem. it is a marvious little device they are used on all kinds of wheels. they are removeable. when you add air the air chuck center pushes down into the center of the valve stem and pushes down the valve core which is spring loaded. once you remove the air chuck the valve core pushes back up and seals off the air. don c.
  9. hi dick have you tryed taking the valve stem cover off and use your soap spray to check for a air leak out of the valve core? maybe the valve core is not screwed in all the way to seat it. also check the valve stem with the soap spray as barend suggested. if this does not find any leaks. i would pull the wheel off and set it in a tub of water, that will cover the bead area as you rotate the wheel. as you know if there are any leaks the bubbles will show up for sure. don c.
  10. hi jerry the weather is going to be GREAT for this m&e mini-mx day. i'am ready to roll. see ya saturday morning. don c.
  11. gary it does have a zing to it. i will ride up there this time. but maybe i can rig up some pontoons on one of the company's 737 aircraft. got to do something about those pond monsters. don c.
  12. hi painterman 67 hope all is well in your neck of the woods. glad your here, yes saddle time is very good. i have a co-worker who i've been trying to talk in the big bend np ride next month. he owns a '06 goldwing, but never rides out of houston. he says why do you want to go out there again for, haven't you been out there 4 or 5 times already? i tell him you will know why when you go one time. david as you have said "deamons" saddle time is the best treatment. best reguards don c.
  13. hi annie thanks for shareing the pictures. looks like all had a good time and great ride. ANNIE thanks for all you do on both sides of the pond. don c.
  14. hi caveman may i just say this about this tire debate. before i got the rsv i had a honda 750 shadow sprit. it came with bridgestone's, and when they wore out. i put me880's on front & back. this was the tire of choice that many of the shadow riders were using at the time ('04 & '05). when i got my '99 rsv in '06 it had dunlops i think on it. when they worn out i replaced them with me880's. i put a me 880 / 130 on the front, 'cause i'am a little short in the leg dept. ( i was not a member of this site then ) before i went to the '08 int. rally in canada. i went to the darkside with a bfg c/t on the rear ( 4/06/08 ). on (5/25/08) i installed a new me880 on the front. (i put over 22,000 miles on that tire). i now fun a kuhmo c/t on the rear and just installed a avon corba on the front ( both are radials). what i'am trying to say is I NEVER HAD ANY ISSUSES WITHE THE ME880'S. but some folks HAVE. THE COMBO I'AM RUNNIG NOW WORKS FOR ME & I AM HAPPY WITH IT. what ever you tire brand you buy i wish you well. don c.
  15. hi jerry talked to ponch this afternoon & we are still planing on leaving houston at 11:00am friday. we will see ya'll saturday morning early if nothing goes wrong. don c.
  16. glad your feeling better now that they have passed. as brad has said it's the close's a man can come to the pain of child birth. had them one time and that was enought for me. i was on the island of guam, in the south pacific. we had shut down our air operations, was leaving the next morning to come back to houston. started sweeting, had the need to relive my self but couldn't. then the pain started and the pressure. this was around 4:00 pm, went to the ER. waited, waited and waited, could not set down, could not stand. now on guam they don't get in any hurry this was back in 1991. they have a saying in the old charrmo languge. hafa ada which means welcome, but to outsiders it means they ( natives ) only work 1/2 day. the only relife i got was walking, at the hospital ER the bath rooms were located out outside. so i was going back and forth only to "dribble". still had not passed the "rocks" yet. so finaly at 11:00pm they gave me some drugs and put me on a bed. around 3:00am i came too, the stones had passed while i was out. still made my flight home the next morning. yes it's ok for a grown man to scream and cry. reguards don c.
